    I work in a Dodge/Jeep dealer here in Las Vegas. The wrangler Willis is the best wrangler for the price. The Willis come dana 44, rubicon suspension and tires. And is almost 7k cheaper than the rubicon. And the Willis name is iconic when it comes to wranglers. Just remember Guys get the v6 that’s the most reliable. All the wranglers in the service department are 2.0/3.0 diesel Engines

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree! I mean, the 4xe's are a steal rn, and I love a proper Rubicon as much as the next guy... but you're correct that a Willys paired with the Pentastar is both a tremendous value and the most reliable option out there!

    • @dee8135
      @dee8135 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What about the v6 with etorque? Is that a good option?

    • @Reoniz

      @@dee8135 It's fairly new, but it's basically a normal Pentastar, just with a different mild-hybrid starter system... so I'd imagine it should be fairly similar in terms of reliability!

    I watched this video multiple times. On 12/23/21 I ordered my first ever wrangler jeep. I am in my late 50s and other than the one I drove while serving in the US Army this one will be my first. I ordered a Willys edition, Sarge Green, Unlimited. I chose the 3.6 L V6 mated to the 8 speed automatic transmission. Then I selected the options that I wanted. I also did not select options I considered to be useless. I’m looking so forward to being a Jeep owner. Thanks for helping be decide on which trim package to select. I do believe that it is the best bang for the buck.

Unfortunately when you buy these things, even if they are there on the showroom floor, the radios are not set up to go on. They are in transit mode. Kind of ridiculous because once I turned it on I knew it had to go.

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lempira69 that's sweet! 2-doors are classic, but it's clear that Jeep prefers the unlimited themselves (392, 4xe, and XR only come in unlimited form) and it's quite bit more practical... speaking of which, I hope you were able to order the Xtrem Recon with your manual Willys!!

  • @briangayley6849

    Great review. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the exact model you just tested but the last hangup is hard or soft top. I can't find a soft top anywhere on a lot so haven't been able to test drive one for noise. My dad's YJ and TJ has a horrible top noise experience but JL seems to have addressed that issue and this looks totally doable. This is the first video I have found with a good example of the soft top in action. Great job!!

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      First of all thank you so much! And regarding the top, yes it definitely seems to be improved in the JL's both operation and sound wise.
      The real gem is the Sky One Touch top which gives you the best of both worlds. A bit quieter and more secure than the soft top, and with the easy to access open air nature of the soft top.
      Only downsides to this are price and the fact that you can't ever go truly topless if that's something you desire.
      Either way, all the Jeep top options are great for the JL, and TFL has a great video showing all 3 in operation called "We compare the 3 different Jeep Wrangler factory tops to see which one is best"

    • @briangayley6849
      @briangayley6849 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Reoniz yes I’ve seen the TFL video. As well. Just test drove a soft top and wow what an improvement from the old days. Decision made. Now if I could just get confirmation the auto can once again be ordered without e-torque😒. Not opposed to manual but would like a choice LOL.

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy to hear! And ya, I'm a little confused regarding the etorque vs standard 3.6... but I'd probably stick with the auto here on the JL's... another area where they have tremendously improved

    I have been driving my 2015 JKU Sport S since the day I drove it from the dealer. It is absolutely a daily driver, but remember, it's a Jeep, not a Lexus. It's a bit rough, it rattles here and there, but nothing beats the days of driving around with no top and no doors! Actually going to check out this exact model Jeep tonight! Love my JKU, but I think I am ready to give up the manual tranny for an automatic...and heated seats (a must here in Chicagoland)! Thanks for the review!

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The JL is a big upgrade! My dad used to have a JKU when I was in high school, and I just picked up a 4xe (video on my channel if you're interested) and the changes are definitely noticeable. Both the fit n finish, but also the driving experience. The 8-speed auto makes that old 5-speed auto look like a joke (I would've gone manual just like you if I had a JK)
      Good luck, and thank you for your insight as a many year daily driving Wrangler owner 😎👍

    It is Willys with no apostrophe. Named after John North Willys who pronounced his name and the name of his Willys-Overland company “Willis”.

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you are absolutely correct! I have heard the common consensus is that people call it Willy's now (Willeeees) as I did in the video, but that the Willis pronunciation is of course the more 'correct' way!

    • @wcfd103
      @wcfd103 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Reoniz when Chrysler first started using the name again they pronounced it correctly but stated that they got so tired of correcting people that it was just easier to just mispronounce it themselves. I feel that Mr Willys deserves to have the respect of having his name pronounced the way he did for his legacy. The soldiers that came home from the war pronounced it like it looked to them on the Jeep because most of them were not familiar with Willys-Overland and that’s where it started.

      Ya I believe the main differences are the power windows, mirrors, and locks... and I wanna say the infotainment as well. The real draw of the non-sport is the ability to tack on more options that aren't even offered on the sports -- for you it sounds like the Willys Sport is the right call 👍👍

      A 22' Willys with the 2.0L would be the exact same as this one! The bigger 8.4" screen was an option for 21' as well, but unfortunately this one didn't have it.

    I'm on the fence of purchasing a gladiator willys eco diesel. That extra torque has me wanting the eco diesel. I wouldn't mind a wrangler though. If I ended with a wrangler I'd pick up a smaller ranger for our property with acreage. Don't necessarily need a pick-up since I don't tow much.
