I only came to pay much serious attention to Mr. Weinberger yesterday when I was reading Alastair Reid's introduction to his translation of Borges's book (Seven Nights). I put several of his books in my online purchases cart and was wondering which should I buy. It's the two pieces Weinberger read in the beginning of this conversation and the fact that these two pieces are among the essays of (An Elemental Thing) that rushed me to order it while I was driving 🏎️📖🤗
