No joke had a math teacher during middle school who did this. It was Friday and most of us had our heads down and by the middle of class all of us had them down. All she did was smile, sit at her desk and start grading stuff. Didn’t get upset, or angry or even the slightest bit annoyed. She claimed on Monday that it was the fastest she’d ever gotten home on a Friday and that she was appreciative. ❤
Even after many years, I revisit it and I love it so much. It's nice that the teacher didn't wake up the class, but gave them time to rest, as well as to rest themselves.
The teacher is the hero of the story. He continued teaching even with one person awake. He cares about every student. And when the protagonist falls asleep, the teacher gets to rest.
Whenever I'm sleepy like this in school I would always says to myself "when I go home i wanna sleep all day" then the class finished and i feel so energetic
yeah I always hate that it happens because if you start snoozing through a class I don't really feel like trying to study it at home now just because my head was feeling sleepy, I don't even get a good sleep at school so I feel scammed out of my time.
Aka the us, where they make you get up early, even though it’s been proven that teens need lots of sleep, and that delaying the start of school by An hour could cause more productive and ready to learn teens, less accidents due to tired students behind the wheel, and generally happier and healthier members of society.
the cool thing is that they conveyed exactly what it's like to get that very specific sleep that you only feel in the afternoon in the classroom, you don't want to sleep but it feels like you get sleep-drunk, As if the world is spinning and you are falling, you try to fight but suddenly realize that you closed your eyes for a few seconds, minutes or even hours
Never really realized anyone being tired in the afternoon. More like just bored and annoyed and can't await to go home. To me the video only applied to the first 2 hours in the morning. And very much so.

Back in 8th grade our science teacher would sometimes see how miserable we were in class, as we were preparing for the national high school enterence exam, and let us sleep for a couple of minutes before starting his lecture. I'm in university now but i still remember the empathy in his eyes and it still means a lot to me. Him seeing beyond the conventional student image and realizing that we were actually human beings, children in fact, who were mentally drained was so important and it kept me going most days. I still ring him up or go to my middle school see him every now and then.
"You need to stop falling asleep in my class." The experience I'm clearly going through: There is absolutely no way I can stay awake while trying to follow words and try to write them down. It's literally feels just like this short. We're exhausted. You can't just NOT expect us to pass out at some point. I love this short not only because it's a masterpiece but it conveys a message that needs to be heard.
This is a crazy accurate representation on how it feels to go to school after an all-nighter studying. That type of fatigue hits different when you just finished eating lunch and your afternoon classes start. especially because no one is really talking to eachother at all since they themselves are trying to stay awake. like, you just wanna sleep but you gotta fight off the tiredness. The only thing going through your head is "please fucking stay awake." ☺
When I was in high school we had just gotten done with midterms and everyone was dragging hard. Our history teacher started the lesson and about 5 minutes in he saw most of the people struggling to stay awake or were barely paying attention. He stopped the lecture and told us all it was a free day and we could study, catch up on homework, talk quietly or take a nap at our desks. It was our time. I'll never forget that day and the lesson he taught me: one of the greatest things you can give to someone is their time back.
My teacher did the same thing in freshman year when he noticed that all of us were stressed out and tired he let us take the rest of the period off and he said that we could do the lesson tomorrow.
Sadly, teachers and trainers usually don't have the power to do so, or are risking their job by doing so. Many years ago, I did something similar to my chargers, and word got out that this happen. I was asked to move soon after
The worst part about getting drowsy in class is when you're almost asleep and your brain does the "falling off a curb" thing, which jolts you back awake and makes your body jump. It's even worse in college, when you're squeezed in tightly between other students.
I love how this short film represents just how tired some people really are, and that goes for everyone. I believe even the people who don’t relate to this could in some way relate…
Yep, I can relate. My last period of the day is just after lunch, but there's one problem: it's MATH, the most boring subject in existence. Plus, they have padded seats, which doesn't exactly help in staying awake
At first I was extremely surprised and mesmerized, like "How did this person animate and show this exact classroom fatigue, the atmosphere, the overwhelming silence where no one is in their right minds?!" And then I saw the animator's name written in *Korean* and then realized: 아. 어쩐지. 이분 우리와 동지구나.
As someone who's highschool experience was this (I didn't sleep well during those years) this is so incredibly accurate. To actually capture that feeling, those movements (the eyes!!! The eyeball spasms!!!!), that mental loop'de'loop you go though...... It gives me so much joy to be able to say "Yes, YES! IT'S _EXACTLY_ LIKE THAT"
I dont think so, that teacher respecting his last student for study, this student also respecting his teacher, however in the end, this student cant hold anymore, and this teacher cant be angry cause he already tired, but atleast he struggle till his student "say enought"
That feeling of everything feeling like a hazy cloud from your vision is all too realistic, it’s hard to even keep your eyes open and when you do keep them open it doesn’t even feel like you’re awake, you just feel like air in a bottle, your mind is freely moving like the air but your body is rigid and heavy like the bottle.
When everyone gave up on the school system, why shouldn't you? They're sleepy and probably won't stay awake for any amount of time and if they do they won't remember what you taught them for long. When your situation is a lost either way, the best move is to not play.
Well another me at Me when I’m sleeping for school: *cant sleep and has full energy* Me when I wake up for school: *feeling like I’m in a nice cold soft bedroom and so sleepy but mom wakes u up*

@Okay Tyler " Student sleeps with 23 teachers."
I love how the teacher looks at him at one point and his face seems to say “Just go to sleep, man.”
I saw the agony in his eyes lmao

It's nice that the teacher didn't wake up the class, but gave them time to rest, as well as to rest themselves.
The teacher is the hero of the story. He continued teaching even with one person awake. He cares about every student. And when the protagonist falls asleep, the teacher gets to rest.

the cool thing is that they conveyed exactly what it's like to get that very specific sleep that you only feel in the afternoon in the classroom, you don't want to sleep but it feels like you get sleep-drunk, As if the world is spinning and you are falling, you try to fight but suddenly realize that you closed your eyes for a few seconds, minutes or even hours
Never really realized anyone being tired in the afternoon. More like just bored and annoyed and can't await to go home.

I'm in university now but i still remember the empathy in his eyes and it still means a lot to me.

Will remember that
My teacher did the same thing in freshman year when he noticed that all of us were stressed out and tired he let us take the rest of the period off and he said that we could do the lesson tomorrow.

The worst part about getting drowsy in class is when you're almost asleep and your brain does the "falling off a curb" thing, which jolts you back awake and makes your body jump.
It's even worse in college, when you're squeezed in tightly between other students.
