i had both my monitors trained on a leash...id take them for walks around the nieghborhood...everyone used to love them on the strike line lol....its hillarious when planes fly over...they stare and watch them....i find if they get aggressive, holding them and calming them makes it easier over time until the behavior stops...start when they fit in your hand...go outside and take them for walks with u....they react differently to the natural sunlight...watch their eyes...when they go into hunt mode their eyes dilate

Love watching your videos. We got a 7 week old savannah monitor in April. Been working with him every day; now I can put him on the couch safely, without him bolting off. Pretty proud, if you ask me. Thank you for your videos!!!
My savannah doesn't like being touched on the ridge between his back legs. We have had him since he was 7 weeks, he is now 5 months, is that normal??

I have a Savannah monitor as well. Her name is Joanna and she’s about a year and a half old. She’s very friendly & very tame. It takes a lot of work to tame them, but well worth it ! I take her out almost everyday & she’ll fall asleep on me sometimes. She’s such a sweetie !

My Nile is trusting and all that, I've had him since he was young. He would climb that fence in a heartbeat, I try to put a harness on but he always squeezes out. Any recommendations on a good harness
If you put some chicken wires over it and it can be disorienting to them

Had to subscribe i just got a small savhan monter and this vidoe gives me some idears to get the little guy tamed down i have a green iguna and imfinding there totally different in atude green iguanas seem to tame quicker in my opinion grate vidoe and thos lizerd look so happy and healthy i had to sub sorry about bad spelling

i think monitor lizards might attack a crying or yelling child because of it's instincts, the child might sound like a prey item to the monitor, therefore they might attack the child, also they might think the child could try to hurt them which could make the monitor try to defend it's self or it could make them try to runaway.

Monitors should be able to make it over 20 years with correct husbandry. Millions of savs have been imported to the United States almost none of which have made it past 10 years.

@@wendyporter1093 the black throat is better for captivity because it eats meatier prey and is bred in captivity and they often do live pretty long. After 5 years almost all savannah monitors die due to being malnourished due to parasites and dehydration or fatty liver disease because they have a specialized diet of grasshoppers in the wild.

We have 2 Savannah’s 1 male and 1 female both about 5 months to 6 months old. Would this be okay to introduce them together like this while they’re this young and the same size? Our male is a big baby captive bred and he’s not aggressive with us. The female on the other hand was a rescue and I can’t almost guarantee she was a wild caught. But her training is going great and she is being very trusting with us. I’ve introduced them before but only through the glass so they’ve seen each other but never been allowed to touch each other. Should I try to introduce them
I'd wait a while until they're a bit bigger, but continue to desensitize them through the glass for a while. That's typically how you introduce other animals as well.
