I never understood why everyone calls everything other than ashy tones "brassy"... Often it's not even brassy, it's neutral or golden/honey toned 😂 I'm so glad the warm tones are coming back in style. I'm over all the ash 😂
Depends on your skin tone. If you have cool undertones anything warm is going to look awful and Brassy. The color blonde you do shouldn’t reflect a trend but your own undertones if you want to look your best

When she put her hair up into princess Laia buns the dark hair really suited her better than the warm or the cool blonde I think a nice rich chocolate brown colour would look stunning on her a dark chocolate brown not milk chocolate 🥰
Personally, I like the color, but that's only because I love purple! Her color looks like the toner Pulp Riot High Speed Toner in Moonstone. Any color depositing conditioner (or shampoo) is going to act like a semi-permanent or direct dye on light hair; they're very concentrated because they're supposed to be used on wet hair. I was surprised that she said she has a giant container of purple conditioner, yet she chose to leave the shampoo in her hair instead. To anyone wondering, if you use these products as the directions intend (on wet hair, maybe 5 mins), it doesn't turn your hair purple.
I would love love a video of explaining Demi, semi, and permanent hair colors. I wanted to ask my hair dresser the difference. My blue black hair color washes out quickly it seems. ( I have very dark hair no box dye) Have a great day!!
Semi-lasts 4-12 washes Demi-lasts 12-24 washes Permanent-lasts 6-8 weeks For semi and demi permanent colors washing your hair less often, using cool/cold water and adding hair color to your shampoo or conditioner and not using heat will help the color last longer, but any color with blue tones are going to be a mess no matter what you do
What is the kind of color called then that doesn't wash but only grow out? I always think that was the permanent one. But thinking about it now, that might have been to easy 😂
She could have got the same result just by using a purple dye, in a lot less time and without the drying effects of the purple shampoo, and a lot cheaper 🙄
They literally make conditioners with color in them. There are so many purple ones. I use one to keep my grey ashy. She could have done this in like, ten minutes.
@@rosyface_ I don’t know how I missed that, but still! Why do people insist on leaving the most damaging products in their hair the longest????? So many people say that they only want to leave a hair mask or conditioner in for ten minutes, but then leave shampoos or bleach in for hours.
What I teach my students about the importance of fine sections is, of course, the even distribution and saturation of color throughout the hair but also the hair care. When big sections are taken people tend to tug, pull and rub at the hair strands. Adding more stress while it processes.

My mom told me that back in the 1970s women would straighten their hair without heat by pinning the hair all around the head like a cap with bobby pins, in fact the name for this technique (toca) literally translates to cap, while still wet and of course brushing in order to detangle as you went and once done, some would put an actual cap over it, or lady stockings, in fact it was also called stocking cap😂. Then you'd sleep like that and the next day it would be just as straight as when you blow dry. I know for a fact that it works because my mom did it on me when I was a teen in the early 2000s when straight hair was the trend, worked like a charm.
I used to use kool-aid to dye my hair in the early 80's. When different hair colors were shocking. Thinking about all the times people wanted to kick my ass for doing so. Times have changed.
I don’t use hate on my heat either once in a while if my hair is styled straight, I will touch it up with a hot brush. Generally, I never put heat on it. I never blow dry my hair.
I started getting white hair when I was 10. I was completely white by 30. Now I'm 65. I often put purple shampoo on dry hair and let the shampoo dry then sleep on it. It colours my white hair beautifully.
OOHHH - you could do tons of cool stuff to your hair. I’m 70 and just starting to get a couple of white hairs right at the top of my forehead. I’d love to have all white hair and do colors.
I rarely am envious, but have wanted white hair all my life.😂 My great grandmother ( whose age i am now - i just figured that out the other day - had a bit of a reality shock! LOL) always used a product by Roux for white hair. It is still available and is great. I still have not turned white, probably will not inherit her beautiful hair, but always knew which product to use if and when i got my wish. Stay beautiful ❤
@@avalerie4467 I was thinking about how my grandmother looked to me in the early 1960s when I was a kid - grandma shoes, little flowers printed on a shirt dress, and the sliver/lavender helmet hair. I’m her age now and I have never and will never look like that!
My mum has stopped dying her hair now because she has lost most of her sight, but she is white on top but salt and pepper at the side's and back (mostly pepper). I take after mum's sister and their aunt. I've had hairdressers argue with me, saying my hair was not natural.
Ohhh thank god. I’ve always washed my hair with normal shampoo and then did the purple shampoo after, but I worried it was drying it out more. But alas Buddha says it has no cleaning agents so I should be good to keep doing it😎thanks Buddha!!!❤️
When are people going to learn to brush out knots in hair from the bottom, not from the top? When you brush knots from the top, you pull on the hair and increase the chance of ripping it.
Yes, my curly hair died watching her!😱 The way she's so violent with her hair is really hard to watch... I hope she'll stop bleaching/coloring her hair and grows it out to its natural dark brown and wears it naturally curly. But ofc she won't... it's all about the views and attention from the viewers... she'll ruin her hair just for "fun" (attention and💸)😮💨
I go to my hairdresser and ask her to please comb my wet, thick, curly hair in sections from the bottom and she tugs from the top, saying it's fine. I then take the comb/brush from her and do it myself lol
Woke up today to a completely flat tire. P.s. Its been so damn cold here in montana we are talking minuses every day and horrible windchills anyway so I had to drive my car slowly across town to get it fixed.ugh. so im very happy to find you have new video to enjoy while cuddled up in my blankets. 😊😊
I have always let my hair dry naturally after washing and conditioning and removing excess water with a towel on my shoulders. Not aggravating it means it doesn’t go frizzy (curls) 👍
Snap. I do the same, if I use a hairdryer my hair would look like a bog brush. My hair is thick and coarse, the only way to control it is to have a perm, wash it and leave it, just use the tip of my fingers instead of a Afro comb. Have used a purple shampoo in the past and it dried my hair even more.
Ok, so, for all the young ladies out there... and men with long hair... when you brush your hair, start with the tips and slowly work your way up in sections (at least 4) to work out the knots, especially if your hair is knotted. This will decrease breakage and decrease pain while brushing. It'll also eliminate "stuck brushes," lol.
She looks older with ashy hair, like it ages her 5-10 years. I think she should stay on the warm blonde. I tried doing the purple shampoo for an hour method and it dried out my hair lol. I just stick to washing it in the shower and leaving it on like a conditioner until the foam turns white then I rinse. Seems to work better that way then shampoo and rinse immediately. Now, I have used purple conditioner like Virgin Snow and leave it in for a bit like a "toner/deep condtioning treatment".
I know it's not the ash blonde that people have been in love with for the last few years (I prefer beige and golden blonde), but it really doesn't look bad. In the end, I think it looks a bit dull, almost like itsa bit lifeless
My hair is naturally golden blonde and one time at a salon, the stylist made my hair ashy and it look horrible next to my complexion, I looked like a corpse.
I've done it. But I was trying to get purple. Now I mix my semi permanent color into a whole bottle of conditioner and I use it once a month to make my white and yellow strands more bright and white.
Yet again you say what I'm thinking. 👍🏻 Would have been interesting to know if she had an end goal in mind before she started or she was just experimenting for fun.
I have a question. I have virgin hair but with some grey hair evenly through. I never bother to color my hair because it grows insan fast. But if I use purpul shampo and just like a regular shampo will my hair consider as processed hair/not virgin hair? Or if I leave it for one hour in? I
Hello @hair-buddha I recently found your channel ... and it has been quite engaging, funny, and informative so far. Thank you for sharing tips, tricks, and cautions. Sometimes your reaction is so very funny, I literally laugh out loud (when it's not serious matters to the person). Though, I was seriously nervous for that lady who kept the chemical *on foil* on her hair for over 4 hours! Tell me, have you worked on hair with people of colour (black .. coiled hair)? What are your suggestions for what brand and colour to use (at home) when colouring to a lighter shade ... whilst avoiding that dry, coarse feeling?
I use blue shampoo to make my magenta look brighter, but with any color depositing there’s only a certain amount of time that’s truly effective with the most color depositing. I’ve heard of a 2 hour set of vegan hair dye, and I’ve had good results from that. It proves that there technically are not wrong ways of beauty, just harder ways. And oh boy, she chose the hard way 😂
After seeing so may purple shampoo fails, I gotta ask: what happens if someone who hasn't dyed their hair accidentally washes it with purple shampoo instead of a regular one? 😳Would there still be any change in colour between those with dark, blond, red or grey/white hair, and would it be noticeable? Talking about just a regular hair wash, with no leave-in time.
If you are dark, you will see nothing. If you are blond, your hair can turn a little less warm/gold. If you are grey/white, your grey will turn more beautiful and shinier. No major changes if you use it normal.
I'm no hairdresser, but my guess is there would be no effect at least with dark brown hair. I have dark brown hair and one time I put auburn box die on my virgin hair. It gave it a slight tint that was noticeable only in the sunlight. So at least dark brown is safe I think.
@@hair-buddhamy grey/white hair goes yellow in patches. Purple shampoos (and I’ve tried several) do make the grey/white look amazing but the yellowing patches go green!
Bonjour. Ça fait longtemps que je n'utilise plus de serviettes sur mes cheveux pour les sécher mais de grands tee-shirts. Je pensais que j'étais bizarre et la seule à faire ça 😅
So I've got dark hair, and I've done a lot of damage over the years. I still like my hair being purple, tho. So I sometimes use a highly pigmented purple conditioner overnight. It shows up nicely, and my hair feels so nice afterward. I intend to try it with other pigments to see what shows up. My main thing is I don't want to lighten my hair again until I have long virgin hair.😊
If she was coloring BROWN WHY a purple shampoo for 4 hours BEFORE coloring it BROWN?! The LOOK 😳 you gave after her leaving the purple shampoo over 4:30 hours!👍Thumbs Up
I’ve never applied purple shampoo in sections! Is this only for when leaving it in for more than 3-5 minutes? Re drying: I have 1a and would NEVER rough up the cuticle like that, HB! EVERYONE should be using a microfiber turban! Oooo girl, always start combing at the ends and gradually work up. 👍🏻👍🏻 For “heat kills your hair”! It looks like a cool gray color. I prefer the big blonde.
I'm wondering how that trick would work on my gray hair if I only kept it on for about an hour? I'm thinking it could look good. At any rate, it is shampoo and will wash out.
I agree her hair was fine before. I used fanola in my hair for 1 hour and 15mins. Your are 200% right. My hair went blue purple on most of my hair. It took weeks to wash out with daily detox shampoo. It destroyed my hair more. When it finally all washed out i started using the fanola once a week the hair at the front sides still absorb the blue purple pigment. This is so damaging. Also the purple can colour the grout and tiles in the shower too.
I'm curious as to what products and tips that women used before now. My mum once told me how the movie stars would use satin gloves to make their hair shine How true it is who knows. Thank you Buddah...I learn something new every time 😊
I know it has been a month since this video, but I would love to know if you have any recommendations for toning highlights at home in between salon visits? I know that my hairdresser tones me with a Shades EQ 10N. That is only sold to professionals in the US. Thanks ❤
It didnt do all that much coloring because it dried out quickly so the majority of the time it was dry and doing nothing. If she had wrapped it in plastic to keep it wet, it would have been much more purple I think. The pieces that were more purple probably stayed damp longer. It was a useless waste of time once her hair dried. Same as henna, which Ive used for years. If you wrap it and keep it wet, it deposits color as long as it's on. If it dries, it doesn't work after that.
Okay, so. I'll preface this by saying I have half my natural-brown hair dyed pink (and bleached beforehand). Having said that, I use Lush's Daddy-O as my main shampoo, but I don't leave it in!! What the hell!! It goes in and sits for a minute or two, then gets rinsed out, then conditioner goes in and sits for the rest of my shower until the end. (Scrub my body, wash my face, shave as needed, maybe an extra couple of minutes beyond that depending on how dry it was before showering.) When I colour bomb refresh, the conditioner/colour mixture sits in my hair for 20-30 minutes after shampooing before it gets rinsed. I'm really happy with my hair routine, but I never thought about leaving the Daddy-O in for hours!!
I now have natural silver white hair ..... I use purple shampoo once a week for ten minutes on wet hair. It almost shines white after. This lady is trying to colour her dark hair on the cheap and her skin colour is warm tone which is why she looks like she has massive dark rings around her eyes. She looks far better as a brunette. If you want to drastically change the colour of your hair, see a professional.
I have seen a video of a lady who used the purple shampoo for dying her hair. She actually left it in her hair over night. But when I first started using it , I thought why not let it stay in for an hr. Well off course my hair picked up the purple tones. But it says put it on wet hair and leave on for about 5 minutes. But no offense I Love how hers turned out.
@HairBuddah I use Redeken magnetics colour extend (pink/red bottle) shampoo and conditioner. I see they've a spray on leave in conditioner, One United, is it any good?
I have a white front for lock ie (money piece) my problem is I can’t dye it darker bec there it has no color and no pigment on the skin underneath so it looks thinning in one spot on the top of my head. If I put a dark root it will grow out underneath with no color what do I do with it?
She has a nice shadow root, a great blonde color...what's the problem? As someone who's natural hair is an EXTRA ashy 7A...cool tones aren't everything
I do this occasional 😊 not to try to tone it though. I can't have "unnatural hair color" at work. Which sucks. So sometimes when i have a few days off i like to give myself some fun hair lol
Thank you, HB. Always enjoy your videos. The microfiber seems like a bad idea to me. I use microfiber cloths to clean the house and it causes such dry skin. I would imagine it cannot be to good for hair, no ??

will purple shampoo and conditioner work for natural gray hair?...would love to know...please and thank you
also...love your videos
Yes
"It will be less beautiful that you have now" ...nice way to say it will be a hot mess!
One of his specialties. 😊
An old flannelette shirt works well for drying curly hair
Don't brush wet hair. Breakage. Wide tooth comb. Bottom to top. Never brush hair wet!!!!
Yeah, we always had Shimmer Lights in the shower/tub when I was a kid. I used it on my brown hair and it doesn't do anything.
@MooseCall Shimmer Lights is still being made and sold today
Bonjour. Ça fait longtemps que je n'utilise plus de serviettes sur mes cheveux pour les sécher mais de grands tee-shirts. Je pensais que j'étais bizarre et la seule à faire ça 😅
Who the hell puts shampoo on dry hair and leave it for 4 hours?
So I've got dark hair, and I've done a lot of damage over the years. I still like my hair being purple, tho. So I sometimes use a highly pigmented purple conditioner overnight. It shows up nicely, and my hair feels so nice afterward. I intend to try it with other pigments to see what shows up. My main thing is I don't want to lighten my hair again until I have long virgin hair.😊
I colored my bleach blonde hair with beets for Halloween. It was a lovely color but washed right out.
Cool.
If she was coloring BROWN WHY a purple shampoo for 4 hours BEFORE coloring it BROWN?! The LOOK 😳 you gave after her leaving the purple shampoo over 4:30 hours!👍Thumbs Up
Good question
I’ve never applied purple shampoo in sections! Is this only for when leaving it in for more than 3-5 minutes?
Re drying: I have 1a and would NEVER rough up the cuticle like that, HB! EVERYONE should be using a microfiber turban!
Oooo girl, always start combing at the ends and gradually work up.
👍🏻👍🏻 For “heat kills your hair”!
It looks like a cool gray color. I prefer the big blonde.
I only put mine on for a couple minutes lol. I wash it off after I’ve washed myself in the shower.
I'm wondering how that trick would work on my gray hair if I only kept it on for about an hour? I'm thinking it could look good. At any rate, it is shampoo and will wash out.
I actually really like it
An you do a live answering our questions? That would be awesome ❤❤❤
Yes, it's has been a while that I have been live. I see what I can do...
@@hair-buddha fantastic!
Hi Hair Buddy, love your videos and your knowledge of hair has taught me alot
Sorry I meant hair budda 😂
I agree her hair was fine before. I used fanola in my hair for 1 hour and 15mins. Your are 200% right. My hair went blue purple on most of my hair. It took weeks to wash out with daily detox shampoo. It destroyed my hair more.
When it finally all washed out i started using the fanola once a week the hair at the front sides still absorb the blue purple pigment. This is so damaging.
Also the purple can colour the grout and tiles in the shower too.
I'm curious as to what products and tips that women used before now.
My mum once told me how the movie stars would use satin gloves to make their hair shine
How true it is who knows.
Thank you Buddah...I learn something new every time 😊
OMG when she started brushing at the roots, worse on wet hair!!! Always start at the ends and work up in sections after you finger detangle.
Another great video😊
Thank you so much
I know it has been a month since this video, but I would love to know if you have any recommendations for toning highlights at home in between salon visits? I know that my hairdresser tones me with a Shades EQ 10N. That is only sold to professionals in the US. Thanks ❤
I like that you didn't judge her harshly ❤
I have gray hair and I hate purple shampoo it never ever all comes out even if I hurry to wash it out.😂😅😂
Oh, i like it 😍
It didnt do all that much coloring because it dried out quickly so the majority of the time it was dry and doing nothing.
Всегда смешиваю бальзам для волос с фиолетовым бальзамом, тогда волосы не пересушить
Her hair doesn’t look that yellow to me. It looks very dry. Her natural color would look better. Not everyone can carry off blonde hair
This chicks hair looked better before the shampoo.
She really just needed a really good Mask and conditioner1
Yup, looked better before.
Yes, it’s not that bad (like others you’ve showed us) 😁. You wear a nice suit 😊👍
As a curly girl I want to know none of your ways. You were so rough on your hair. It’s a no for me.
Yes get wide toothed brist or just scrunch with hands don't drag with plastic brushes
Why don't people know how to brush their hair properly??? Start at the ends and work your way up!! Gahhhhhh!!! ~ signed, A Curly Hair Woman
Appreciate curly hair Infos
Can't believe what I watch. I'm so afraid to ruin my hair, these people have no cares!!
@HairBuddah I use Redeken magnetics colour extend (pink/red bottle) shampoo and conditioner. I see they've a spray on leave in conditioner, One United, is it any good?
I do not understand why people try to be hair stylists. They don't know anything about hair, well except for that they have it on their head!!
Good Morning all💜💜
Hello, have a great day
I have a white front for lock ie (money piece) my problem is I can’t dye it darker bec there it has no color and no pigment on the skin underneath so it looks thinning in one spot on the top of my head. If I put a dark root it will grow out underneath with no color what do I do with it?
She has a nice shadow root, a great blonde color...what's the problem? As someone who's natural hair is an EXTRA ashy 7A...cool tones aren't everything
I feel like Hair Buddha should have “Please take fine sections!” tattooed on his forearm. 😂😂😂
Someone needs to teach her how to brush her hair 😮
That shampoo is so fucking strong lol it paints all my whitest hilights a very purple color 🤣
🤣😳🤣
Oh, she needs is to get her roots done maybe a little toner.
ouch ouch how she brushes her hair. 🙈
Fine sections & comb it through for better result
Did it come out so patchy because of the rubber bands? Kind of like a tye dye effect when we tye dye tshirts, using them?
I do this occasional 😊 not to try to tone it though. I can't have "unnatural hair color" at work. Which sucks. So sometimes when i have a few days off i like to give myself some fun hair lol
Thank you, HB. Always enjoy your videos. The microfiber seems like a bad idea to me. I use microfiber cloths to clean the house and it causes such dry skin. I would imagine it cannot be to good for hair, no ??
Please mute your video when it says "Ok Google" when editing, if you don't mind. My home devices started a timer for three hours and a half LOL.
Thanks for another lovely video!
🤣
I've learned to go to my professional stylist for all things hair--related. I've had a few DIY hair disasters decades ago. 😂
How come they never use the purple conditioners instead of the shampoo’s?
She made my google set an alarm 🤣🤣🤣
