Reconstructing life after leaving corporate U.S.A., Sujata found the purpose of her life in a fairy-tale-like trekking journey to Ladakh, where observing adversities within the community and the Government School system set her on the path of building the 17000 Ft. Foundation.
Started in 2011, her Foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of high-altitude frontier communities by developing them into self-sustaining and thriving regions through improving the government school Education System and generating opportunities for income and exposure for the community.
In the conversation, we discussed how she built 17000 Ft. Foundation, bringing impact to remote India, problems in the social entrepreneurship sector, women’s financial autonomy, and her Second Act.
