      I have the C1 and while it is a fantastic TV for gaming, the brightness is really an issue. It just can’t handle any light sources in front of the display. My PC uses a mini LED gaming display and the difference is stark. OLED has much better response but the overall brightness of the MINI LED display is so much better.

      @@walidhannaoui1802 I just got the B2 for 999 at Best Buy a few weeks ago and it has the exact same gaming features as the C2 just with 2 less hdmi 2.1 ports. If that's a problem you can buy 8k hdmi 2.1 splitters for 20 bucks on amazon to add ports which is a lot cheaper than an extra 400 dollars for the C2. I looked at the B2 and C2 side by side in the store and I could barely if even tell the difference. I've heard the B2 and C1 are extremely similar which means I'd probably just stick with the C1 unless you were wanting to get a larger size.

      @@walidhannaoui1802 being completely honest they are both great. if i had been able to find a 55" C1 for my bedroom i would have got it instead of the C2. despite the C2 being the newer model with the Evo display i see zero difference in picture quality. matter of fact i find myself often times more impressed with my 65" C1's picture quality than my 55" C2. you would think the bigger screen on the C1 would make the picture slightly more grainy and slightly less impressive but that just isnt true.

    @ Caleb Digital Trends - You can no longer use a RTX 3000/4000 card with the new Sony TVs. All HDMI 2.0 ports shows a frozen garbled image and on the HDMI 2.1 4K120hz inputs you can only get a working picture with the input set to Enhanced VRR but then you are locked into Game mode and can't change to say Cinema for watching movies or shows through your PC. Also, if you want to game at 120hz with BFI by using Clearness, forget it as you need to be able to set input to Enhanced (non VRR) but it's not possible since Nvidia made changes to their drivers after 512.95. They are now much stricter with the EDID rules and this is not working well with Sony to say the least. Please make a video about this, it's a huge issue for us who likes to hook the TV up to a PC.

    Samsung's Game Motion+ is such an underrated feature for console gaming. Lets you sacrifice a small amount of latency for stellar motion clarity and smoothness in 30 or 60fps-locked games, and with no added flicker or brightness loss. It's basically off-brand DLSS 3.0. I use it a lot on my S95B.

      I own an LG C9 OLED, which I love. But 30fps games are way more painful than they need to be on it. Been window shopping recently for a second tv, and this feature has me gunning for a Samsung tv

      I have the qn90b and was wondering when I should use this feature. So I should still turn this on for any games that run at 30 or 60fps and don't support VRR? Wasn't to sure about this feature see.. I did turn it on when playing horizon zero dawn on ps5 the other day but not too sure it was doing much.

    • @random_n
      @random_n ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ianbrazier1213 Personally, I use VRR for games with unstable, uncappable framerates, GM+ de-blur for 60fps games, and add de-judder for 30fps games. It does struggle with faster-paced first person 30fps games where the artifacting can be a bit much, and just running very low brightness may be a better choice.
      Lesser known fact; perception of judder is linked to absolute brightness levels, not just frame rate, frame pacing, and pixel response times. Lower brightness and slower pixels both reduce judder, but add blur. Pulsing the image in sync with the framerate like a film projector's shutter helps perceived motion clarity, but adds a flicker effect that varies in annoyance depending on how it's done, and the rate it occurs at.

    • @Techington
      @Techington ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Game Motion is nothing like DLSS. Deep Learning Super Sampling has to do with upscaling a lower resolution image leveraging the RTX cards Tensor Cores through AI to produce a similar and at times more accurate picture. Game Motion+ is merely Samsungs branded name of Black Frame Insertion, two vastly different technologies.

    • @random_n
      @random_n ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Techington DLSS 3.0's Optical Multi Frame Generation and Samsung's Game Motion+ bare more similarities than differences. Both use prior frame data to generate intermediary frames to boost the perceived temporal resolution of moving images without altering the traditional X/Y resolution. Nvidia's tech has more input than the raw frame to work with as provided by the game engine (depth buffer, motion vectors, etc), so it has the opportunity to be more accurate, certainly operates with lower latency, and runs without the locked frame rate requirement, but the effect is otherwise visually similar and has the benefit of requiring no game developer input at all. Black frame insertion is available too, but it cannot be used together with Game Motion+.

    Recently upgraded from a 55' Sony X950G to a 77' Sony A80K and man, so glad Sony has finally caught up to supporting all the PS5 features. My first OLED tv, 22' bigger, supports 120Hz compared to the X950G's 60Hz cap, VRR, ALLM, great local dimming with VRR on thanks to a software update for the A80K, and insane sound quality for when the tv calibrates your living room. Playing GoW: Ragnarok in it's high frame rate mode with VRR is truly the best way to play and all while on the comfort of my couch haha. But yea the only thing I had to discover on my own is that if the PS5 is trying to do 3D audio through tv speakers and the TV itself provides 3D audio based on its calibrations, you get like 2 different measurements trying to constantly overlap each other which makes for a vastly inaccurate spatial/3D sound through tv speakers

      Burn-In is in the past my dude. Don’t worry about it. Not saying you’re invulnerable by any means, but you’d have to REALLY abuse your OLED to get burn-in these days. Tech had gotten so much better throughout the years.
      Only thing I’d definitely recommend, DO NOT have your taskbars constantly up (Being a static image) for long periods of times since you’re playing on a PC.

It lacks the newer processor and panel of the c2, but it still has 2 hdmi 2.1 ports and literally supports every gaming feature the c2 does…for about 3-500 bucks less. The 65 inch version can be had for less than 1300 and the 55 can be had for 999.

Sure it's not gonna be everyone's cup of affordability, but hot damn it doesn't spare an expense. Given I own a PS5, it really made no sense to not get one to take advantage of it's features and since I also run all AMD hardware in my PC, the additive of Freesync support was merely icing on the cake. I was split on the C2 / S95B, but after seeing them run the same videos side by side (from a usb i took to the store with me), there's no comparison. The S95B made the C2 look like a cheap lcd from 2003, no joke.
    Dont get me wrong, if you don't have them in the same room, they're both amazing. It's just that the intensity the S95B manages to hit with every color at full blast is insane. I've never seen anything like it, OLED or not.
    I took home the 65", and I'm happy as can be. It makes both SDR and HDR games a spectacle to behold. Tho, granted, you WILL need to dial down the game mode settings quite a bit. I recommend 45 Brightness, 40ish contrast and no more than 20 Saturation. I also turne the Contrast Enhancer to Low or Off.
    The presets in the current firmware in Game mode will oversaturate the living hell out of everything, and the intense 1200nit color flashes will grill your eyes xD
    Oh and setting Judder Reduction to 10 will make 30fps games way smoother. It's really well done.

      I returned one and got a S95 65'' (major price cuts) and C2 42'' WBE panel (major discount), paid in total for both around only 2000EUR.
      Also can say also that DV C2 in Netflix looks noticeably better than HDR10 non plus S95B.
      Still S95B destroys C2 in games and SDR in terms of looks, it's way more vibrant, not even side by side in dark room.
      But S95B GUI is clunky, slow and sometimes in comparison to C2 it looks gray instead of black in not dark room.

    Caleb, have heard the Hisense U8H halves resolution at 120hz, and has very bad color banding with games. This gives the TCL a big win by comparison if this is still true. Can you confirm?

      I've tried to confirm the latest release on multiple youtube channels and nobody can confirm or has replied. So I'm still waiting for proof that gaming on PC won't cause 1/2 resolution to 1440p. I'm hoping someone can prove this soon with video and not just a random reddit post.

      My C2 runs at 120 frames per second and it makes up for the featureless ps5 like being able to Google while I play, but if id known only like 10 games run at 120 frames per second so no don't buy it, however the games that do is absolutely amazing after 120hz you will never want to turn back

    How A80/90/95 didn’t make the list being better for PS5 but X90K did is strange considering… they’re better TVs.

    • @joseluislopes3956
      @joseluislopes3956 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The A80K is usually more expensive than the C2, Google TV on recent Sony TVs is notoriously buggy, the only "advantage" it has over the competition when paired with the PS5 is having Dolby Vision on blu-rays, which is a niche usage at best. So C2 is better choice
      If money is no object, the A95K should be mentioned for sure over the S95B

      Plenty of videos on TH-cam to properly calibrate your OLED. It was a whole new world for me when I got my first LG OLED in 2020 (55in CX bedroom). Now on my 2nd, a 65in C1 (living room). Had to calibrate for SDR, HDR, Dobly Vision/Atmos and on gamer mode for my ps5. It's not that bad once you find the right video to guide you along. But when you do finally get it calibrated for each mode, man it's beyond stunning!
