Hate where the spare is and the cost of trucks these days. Love the unit. Needs a rear swing out tire mount behind the tail gate. The price has me looking at keeping my jeep for a while longer though as it doesnt cost me anything.
@@Tylander_ Don't forget the ZR2 at 49K offers both front and rear locker. The TRD Pro does not offer a front locker. And figure paying minimum 67K for a TRD. Add tax/title and your well over 70K for a mid size. And with those iso dynamic seats the TRD has zero leg room in back. They only offer that because they mainly stuck with the same old old fox setup as before. In comparison the multimatic system on the ZR2 will ride 100X better both on and off road. Don't believe me test drive one. Consequently you don't need gimmicks like iso dynamic seats to make up for the lack of proper suspension. GM has the better truck. The 2.7 is proven and gives you 430 lbs/torque without the complexity of the hybrid system and the expensive battery pack that will need replacement at some point. Plus the build quality is much tigher at the Wentville plant in Missouri. Yota having issues retaining workers at the baja plant because of the slave wages they pay which is why there are many quality problems with excessive gaps, insulation, rattles etc.. They have no loyalty to their company like the workers at Wentville. Facts.
@@HiPlains1 Agree, I just wanted a perspective on driving both since OP has. I have only driven the AT4X and the multimatic is great, but I've heard the Fox tune is better on the TRD Pro... No doubt the ZR2 is the better value, mpgs are not great however.
@@Tylander_ In the end of the day the Achilles heel for the taco is the price. Its too far stretched from the competition. But the margins are probably huge so maybe the new CEO doesn't care if he caters to their traditional fan base. Selling fewer trucks with larger margins might be their intended strategy. Or it can backfire like it did with Jeep/Ram which had a huge following and after they jacked the prices on RAM/Jeep 65 percent in 6 years many just walked from the brand. I still think allot of this is driven from the new CEO.
The placement of the spare tire ruins it. That obstruction of the rear view behind the driver is nothing short of a hazard. It’s an otherwise impressive truck, but GM needs to seriously reconsider an alternative means of carrying that spare tire.
It is an odd spot but it's better than what they did before. I also like this better than putting it under the bed as you can now install a larger fuel tank or whatever else.
That's a great looking truck. That color that trim and half the cost would be perfect.
glad you liked it!
The great thing about the midsize trucks is they used to be smaller. Dimensionally, they are now basically only slightly less wide.
A bit rich. I'm seeing 1500 AT4x with 3.0L very low $70s with upper $70s MSRP. Thanks to both of you. God bless. TFS
Love the AEV Canyon
Thanks for the video. Looks like you guys had fun. If I win the lotto I shall buy 1
It was a blast!
Inside looks like Toyota mechanic uniform
Looks super nice
You can get steps for the rock rails in gm accessories
It’s going to be tough choosing between this or a trd pro.. but if I must . I will choose the trd pro..
Waaaaaay better MPGs
Enjoy paying almost 80 grand for that Tacoma trd pro after adding sales taxes and the horrible Toyota dealer markup.
Jeff and Savannah, I would feel a lot safer if Savannah was driving. 😉🤣😂
she's used to driving a huge truck so you might be right! But it's a press vehicle so I've got to go by the rules Hog haha
@@AutoJeffReviews I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

Gorgeous Truck, not a good price but seems everything is spendy now days.
Can't even afford a small truck! This is the best looking small truck in my opinion, though. It looks great.
How comfortable is the seats is it better than toyota 4runner seats
Great looking truck but the price is insane
It's definitely in a different price bracket but it's incredible
Beauriful vehicle. Just not worth almost 68 grand plus sales tax and other fees.
Great team! is that your daughter?
Savannah works with me and is interning in social media :) she’s fantastic
@@AutoJeffReviews awesome. love seeing both of you on! makes the video so much more fun and pleasant
How does it compare to the '24 Tacoma TRD Pro? About the same price.
Yeah and look what you get for this price. The best bet is get the zr2 for $50k and just add what you want.
@@371kenny Hard to pass up the value you get on the ZR2 for sure.

Is this in Colorado?!?! 😂 She seems... Nevermind lol
Where did you all go to drive that thing?!?!?
we took it through Umstead Park and all through Raleigh area
@@AutoJeffReviews that’s what figured but I had no idea you could drive through Umstead like that.

If I buy the truck does it come with it? I think she’s real cute and attractive.❤️
Lawnmower Engine in aTruck ! will never see 100,000 miles !
Not for 60k
Who puts white in an offroad vehicles interior 😒😐
Way too much money and that white in the interior looks terrible.
So don’t buy it
I like it, but the interior is nauseating... The girl is hot AF, though....
I'll show Savannah your compliment haha
