I love Short Night of Glass Dolls. A brilliant film, with an atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife. That scene with Barbara Bach crammed into the fridge is one of the most horrifying scenes in any Giallo I have ever seen. Absolutely fantastic!

Really looking forward to these three 4k upgrades from 88 Films, their 4k output so far has been as good as anyone. I think Short Night of Glass Dolls will look great, I don't remember anything about Night Train Murders but I do own the Blu so I must have seen it and as for Rats: Night of Terror it's a really fun post apocalyptic horror sci-fi oddity, not a good film at all but very entertaining and yes, that twist ending is amazing. I hope 88 Films will be able to use the awesome UK artwork from the Medusa Video VHS tape. Looking at the old 88 Films release of Short Night of Glass Dolls in your video I am slightly surprised to see it have no extras at all but the new 4k has a lot, I will certainly pick up all three and I expect pretty much all these Italian horror and exploitation films to get new 4k restorations, we know the score... they were milked on VHS, then released multiple times on DVD, multiple times on Blu-ray and now the last stop is 4k and we know those Italian rights holders like to pimp these films out and make as much as they can. Titles going out of print in an interesting one, Arrow Video for instance have renewed the rights for Fulci's City of the Living Dead and The House by the Cemetery and kept them in print for over a decade yet allowed the rights for The Beyond to lapse and now Shameless has it. Seems like 88 Films decided to renew the rights for these three titles but no one else is releasing Italian genre titles here anyway, I don't really count Shameless as they barely release anything and so far in the UK I think Arrow Video have only upgraded their Dario Argento titles and the two Fulci zombie films despite putting 4k's out for several years now. 88 Films are our biggest hope for Italian genre stuff here in the UK on 4k right now and even their release schedule is pretty slow going.

Arrow Video's first 4k was Pitch Black in mid 2020 so in four and a half years they have released the Argento films (already restored in 4k for previous Blu-rays), the two Demons films and two Fulci films with existing 4k restorations (both Cauldron and Blue Underground are credited for the restorations on Arrow's packaging/booklets) although Arrow announced Don't Torture a Duckling last month and they have released a 4k of Torso in the US so maybe they are upping their Italian output which would be great and I am still amazed Arrow let the rights for The Beyond to lapse. Most of what Shameless release I have little interest in, I have not bought a Shameless disc for years, I hear they have improved lately but still could be better.

Cool video as usual John, good stuff. Night Train Murders and Short Night of Glass Dolls are two 4Ks I'm looking forward too, and also Nine Guests for a Crime, a nice surprise 4K announcement. Severin Films announced all three of titles for their Black Friday sale, but I'll very likely import the 88 releases as the price is often a little better. 88 Films has been knocking it out of the park with their releases as of late, especially for the Italian Collection and Asia lines. I've got like 700 plus reward points with 88, and I'll be using 'em soon with a few releases already available. I'm really digging what the Boutique folks are doing with 4K. I like the treatments the 88 Films offer to their releases. I was anticipating their new release of Virgin Witch but it now appears to be on indefinate hold or possibly cancelled (?). Also, I'm hoping they soon will offer a new box set of one of my favorite Joe D'Amato films Beyond the Darkness.

Hi John, I wonder if 88 Films are following the footsteps of Arrow Video who"ve been upgrading their previous blu ray movie releases to 4K upgrades 🤔which will keep fans happy but at the same time upset one or two, "Night Train Murders" was a major surprise for me in not knowing too much about but really enjoyed & its quite pricey title to track down on blu ray as its one of their earliest releases so a 4K release i can see people jumping on it. The Voice telling the 88 Films get ready 👍

I keep a count of all my film pick ups for the year Ragnar, so far I've got 142 items including gifts, of them 12 are upgrades and of them 6 are gifts, so I would say that's pretty good going, but with the Italian Collection (my favourite part of my collection) I'll definitely upgrade any that comes out bud 😁😁👍👍
