Hey John. I just watched The Sorcerer’s last night. Really liked it, Estelle (Karloff’s Wife) one of the great scary old ladies 😜 terrific ending. The Tigon slips are great. Remind me of paperback novels. Hannie Caulder is one of the great revenge westerns. Yes, Witchfinder General for the win.

Love the Tigon line. Its no Hammer or Amicus, but its really fun. Although Hainted House of Horror is dire. Saw Crimson Altar last night - lots of fun.
There are some really good movies in their output mate 🤩🤩 I liked Haunted House of Horror, but I can see how some people might not like, it's very "of its time" I'm dying to see Crimson Alter agai BOBW 😁😁👍👍
Really enjoyed this video John, love the way 88 Films have made all the slips, especially the spines look identical for the shelf. I watched The Body stealers recently on tv and the nude scenes were missing so it will be interesting to watch it uncut wink wink. Will keep an eye out for The Creeping flesh, anything with Cushing and Lee is a must for me.

Nice break down of the Tigon films you have. I still think Blood on Satan's Claw is my favourite Tigon film (and yes, the 4k from 88 Films is superb) with The Beast in the Cellar and Witchfinder General in joint second place with very honourable mentions for Doomwatch and Hannie Caulder. And yes, Virgin Witch is absolutely awful.

Love your video as usual. I'm almost sure the other Beryl Reid film you were thinking of was "The killing of sister George" with Susannah York. Remember seeing that in the cinema and liking it a lot. It had a limited run in the UK So I saw it in an art cinema of the time..
In the comments I've heard that someone owns the rights to it and it's looking uncertain if it'll get a release in the UK anytime soon unfortunately mate 🤯🤯😔😔

Great video John 😊 I have been slightly disappointed with the latest 88 Films Tigon release that arrived for me this week. The Curse of the Crimson Altar. Nothing to do with the film itself or the transfer though. It's the packaging. They seem to have changed the colour tone on the side and back of the case. It's now a very luminous yellow as opposed to the darker tone of yellow on the other ones. It stands out a bit on the shelf and is a bit jarring. I know it's a small issue but it has still bugged me.

I remember watching the beast in the cellar as a kid. It was sleeping over at my mates who had cable TV and it was presented by the Deadly Ernest Picture Show. We watched Deadly and whichever horror film he presented every Saturday. I remember as a young kid Beryl Reid on Mooncat & Co lol.

The Virgin Witch can’t be any worse than Tigon’s Blood Beast Terror (a film that I think Peter Cushing said was the worst film he made), which, although originally an ‘X’ Certificate film should really have been called ‘Bloodless Beast Not Terror’. Remember renting it back before video certification came in and, seeing the X Cert on the poster art thought I was in for a treat. But no, some girl transformed into a giant Death Head’s moth! Won’t be adding that to my 88 Tigon collection. Great video John 👍

Great countdown John the beast in the cellar is definitely my favourite tigon movie Beryl Reid was such a great actress she was also fantastic in the killing of sister George. . Patrick Allen who is the body stealers was one of the top voice over actors back in the 70s/ 80s. I always remember his m in the Tv ads for Barret homes. 😎

I saw The Beast in the Cellar on a double bill with The Blood On Satan’s Claw in the cinema back in the day. I was a kid and that bill scared the crap out of me. And I still love both movies to this day. Looking back I think the double bill that freaked me out most was the Count Yorga films. Jeezuz, walking home that night I was extremely creeped. Watching them now they’re quite campy, but as a kid that went over my head.
Wow I can imagine that Overlord 🤯🤯😁😁 Count Yorga is such an underestimated film and it's so campy now!! The scene where he is running in slow motion though is REALLY spooky!! 😲😲🤩🤩👏👏

Ha.... The Body Stealers! Recently caught the blu-ray version. It does look good. It's just... Patrick Allen always cracked me up, as he's so cheesy, a real "Ladies-man"! The extras are a great watch, with some of the anecdotes. Blood On Satan's Claw! Linda Hayden... (sigh) Say no more! A Candle For The Devil is pretty good..., and I won't mention Judy Geeson! Ooooops! What!, no What's Good For The Goose? (he-he)
Are the 88 Films better than the Screenbound's releases? They already look pretty Good. Candle For The Devil looks a bit ropey but you said 88s still looks a bit soft as well. I hate re-buying the same ones.
I'm not sure Simon as I don't have any other versions to compare them to, I would think because the releases are going to be pretty close together that they would probably use the same transfer with different packaging and maybe new extras? 🤔🤔 that's just a guess though mate 👍👍
