My unpopular opinion: people mostly talk about how good they look and not about how Vixx music makes you feel. Sure they have to look good to attract public interest, but when you turn off the visuals and just listen to how they're using their voices, THAT'S when you know how talented they really are. And while I love puzzling out the concepts, I think they tend to take away from how great Vixx's music actually is.

Yes! I love to put on any of their albums and just... sit there with my eyes closed, hearing all the nuances of their music, it really is art, it's beautiful
I watched a professional voice teacher react to Leo's singing and he said Leo is not straining to hit the high notes. He said Leo actually hits them easily. He said what Leo is doing however is straining his face to make it look like the notes are hard to hit, but in reality, Leo doesn't have a problem hitting them.

He hasn't reacted to kpop for awhile, but I remember him having a lot more kpop reactions so maybe he got some copyright strikes and had to take them down. It was a compilation of different kpop singers all in the same video and the clip he watched of Leo was specifically a beautiful liar performance when he did those 4 high notes.

I like the robot voice because then I can imagine Rovix makes these videos 1 super hero is great 2 I would miss hyuk so much but ken is gonna have a solo album this year and ravi does so much so I think it could work. I really would not mind getting ot6 back as soon as possible, so it would be nice if he enlisted together with one of the other members. I can't see that doing anything other than create bad feelings between starlights and I dread that one of them could see it. They aren't competing with each other, they are on the same team. Every other member has a unique role in the group, so I think that's why I feel so strongly about it but I am generally not a fan of comparing members. Also I vaguely remember keo talking in an interview about giving each other compliments so as to prevent bad feelings edit: format

OTVIXX I agree. Proof of that are Vixx's Heroes of Remix stages. They are singing live, in Chinese, while dancing to unfamiliar choreography and they sound amazing.
my opinions: -vixx has a flawless discography. Who could think that one group could release all of these masterpieces like error, eternity, voodoo doll, fantasy AND chained up?? -hongbin made the sun jobless. -hongbin shouldn't have left. ik they talked about this and i respect his decision, but people get drunk sometimes and hongbin is the legal age of drinking. it'd be better if all videos of the stream was deleted and such things. he said some rude things but im sure all kpop fans has opinions like this inside themselves so they were making a too big deal of it.
my (i don't think its very unpopular) opinion is that Hongbin needs a solo, one that can show off his RANGE too. have some songs that show off his voice like his almost demonic deep voice like in error and chained up and have some songs showing off his softer voice like in that red velvet cover. i would eat that album up!!
about ravi i find a pity that he is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo OBSESSED with autotune like remove that and his songs become so much better and are different sounding. vixx are treathed like nugu by some fans because we starlight aren't rubbing vixx achievement on their face ,like some other fandom do
cindy soldout I feel the same.... some auto tune is fine but sometimes I feel he used too much and covered up his uniqueness (even tho it's still pretty distinct) Still if that's what he love we can't judge him cuz musicians/artists should only make music when they love it themselves
I really hope some of the younger members decide to enlist sooner, it's gonna be forever before the next comeback as 6vixx if not... About their earlier comebacks being cringy, I actually love that personally, I was a teenager during early 2010s so things from that era are very nostalgic to me. Even though I hadn't found Vixx yet back then those songs and videos have that vibe that reminds me of that time. That happens when you grow old I guess 😁 I try to also stay out of stan twitter, from what I've seen of it seems like it's very intense and weird out there...😅

MY OPINION : I feel like am the only one who doesn’t mind Ravi using auto tune in most of his songs it doesn’t bother me , yes I sometimes get confused on what song am listening until the drop hits but I don’t really get bothered by it , I would say that his new songs aren’t really for me but his 2nd mixtape (Nirvana) album is my fav album and it will always be ( I LOVE MOST OF HIS SONGS NOT ALL)
Also, I've always said Hongbin's lower register should be utilized more. It is beautiful and sexy. I would definitely listen to a solo. I've actually always wanted a duet with Hongbin and Ravi where they use their lower registers and just kill all us Starlights with their sexiness. I think Hyuk is my favorite composer in VIXX. I love all of the songs he has composed and I can't say that about the others. I don't mind the autotone in Ravi's songs, but the problem is he uses it way too much. If it was only used in one or two songs that would be one thing. His voice is unique and beautiful and I think people just want to hear that. I'd be interested to know why he wants to use autotune. I think it's a stylistic choice and I'd like to know his thought process behind it. I also wish Jellyfish could promote more, but they are a small company with a limited amount of money compared to others. Promoting costs money. My unpopular opinion:: I still think people should pay more attention to VIXX. Because I just find popular kpop groups kinda annoying and there seems to always be some kind of fan war. I’ve never seen that with us STARLIGHTS and that’s why I became a STARLIGHT this fandom is really chill and always send love

Hyuk enlisting early would definitely be amazing so we can have OT6 back faster, but seeing as how he's leading his first drama soon and how his career is developing right now, he might not want to. About Ravi and his love for autotune, did y'all see his performance with Xydo on Immortal Songs? His vocals were so raw there, cause there is 0 autotune and it sounded SO good! I just really dislike heavy autotune, it just with the recent albums from ONE and BTS who also use a lot of autune now and I just can't listen to it. Such a pitty because it doesn't mean the music is bad perse. So I really hope he will tone down the autotune, because his raw vocals are perfect as they are !
I love their music and their dancing, but honestly I think I love them the most because of how they are towards each other. They remind me of family and act like brothers all the time; even when they annoy each other it comes off as normal things siblings do. I think the way they were set up in the beginning was one of the best things to happen to them in regards to bonding together! I hope they all come back together stronger than ever and with lots of ideas for new music!

I love how respectful you were with everything ❤️💕❤️. I’m gonna give my own opinions on a few of these, cause I can’t comment on quite a few and if I do all of them this would be too long. But here we go: 1) I wholeheartedly agree SuperHero is not a bad song at all. No matter how cringy for the members it may be, it definitely holds up like PD said near the end. 2) Hyuk enlisting this year would definitely be amazing to bringing 6VIXX back faster, but it’s all ultimately up to him. He’s doing quite a lot right now so that’s a major factor. But I’ll definitely respect whatever decision he makes cause I love him and want the best for him. And lastly 3), The last one kinda hurt me as a Leo Stan. I’ve listened to his solo albums and his voice is definitely my style. I’m also by no means a musical expert, so I really have no idea how high notes work. I guess either I’m super unpicky or too biased cause I love his high notes. I unfortunately kind of agree with the Ravi comment... Apart from rookbook and his second mixtape, I didn’t like any of Ravi’s B sides... especially those released after he launched groovl1n. I hate to say that because I love him, his main titles, his styles and his ambition... but his recent music (except for rockstar that is a MASSIVE bop) is not my taste...

I am the other way around, I like Ravi's B sides. But tbh it does sound the same in an album. I think it's just his musical vocabulary is not as wide as he wants it to be just yet at the time he created a whole LP/EP. And Vixx is not underrated I agree, but I think they just age out of it. with the million and one gen 3 and 4 groups. But vixx is kinky. all of their songs are kinky. ehe.
Also about hyuk enlisting, he isn't as popular as sungjae yet. He's only beginning to rise and even getting lead roles in drama. If he leaves now then it might affect his rising popularity. However I do wish that he would go with bean and ravi if he feels like it.

Yep. As a long time fan that has been in the fandom as long as it existed, I can vouch that VIXX is NOT underrated. Back then? Maybe. Now? They’re not. Being underrated means that they’re not being recognised for what they are. Now, VIXX is unique and people acknowledge that. They didn’t get the title of The King of Concepts for nothing. People recognise that, people acknowledge that, people follow their trends. That alone proves that they’re not underrated. Also, they got first place at least once for every group comeback, they got various awards for their music every year, their album sales is pretty high that they got included as boy group with highest album sales during the last decade, they always go on tour with every album release and it’s almost always sold out. These are not things underrated group can easily do. (You have to remember, underrated is not synonymous with “not as famous as” so while yes, VIXX might not as as famous as some other groups, they are not underrated.)
I am proud of myself for streaming Super Hero on the speakers in New Year, that's how my 2020 started: with a group full of surprises and let me tell you, even though I haven't known them for long I've learnt so much about self love because of them. ♥ Kings ♥

The thing about many new bgs and ggs sounding great live is bc it isn't exactly live.. or has a the backing vocals turned up high. And this is the case even when they are just standing and singing. But I do not agree that vixx sing live 90% of the time. Maybe 50 lol. However when they do, the backing vocals aren't as high and hence the flaws sounds more obvious. But that's expected while dancing.

There's also some clips exposing western artists messing up lip synching in their concerts so even if the fans hear the artists live , we can't really tell. But I think the person was pointing out vixx flaws being more obvious, and ig that is bc they really are doing it live and with lower backing vocals. Tho ofc im no expert in this lol.
Nah, go back and watch their stage performance of Super Hero. They were singing live while dancing and it sounded exactly like the studio recording. I was honestly shocked when I realized they were singing live.

your vid got me thinking about ravi's solo stuff. i'm ravi biased and he's my ult, i've listened to all his music and have all his albums. i support him doing what he loves and creating a body of work that is both diverse and full of passion. however, i do think that realize and nirvana were his two best albums. the more recent ones "flow" together better as a cohesive album with consistent sound, but i feel as though the sound is so consistent that it lacks variety, especially in the case of el dorado and limitless. the songs are good and usually sonically interesting when played on their own (like listening to just the title tracks/singles but nothing else), but when played one after another, its hard to figure out where one ends and another begins. the dedication to cohesion is admirable, but at times misplaced because it makes the album feel like it lacks individuality/color. take el dorado's cohesion vs eau de vixx's cohesion. el dorado uses almost entirely all the same instruments, shikkie's same vocal rap style (which, he has a variety of styles of rap and ways TO rap, especially looking at some of his own work and the work he's done for vixx), and autotune (which i don't want to comment on)... eau de vixx has similar instruments but not all in the same songs, a similar SOUND/STYLE/VIBE, and an energy that runs like a thread through all the songs even if they don't sound the same. each of the songs on EDV are great on their own, but they also are great when played consecutively in album order or in album shuffle. i think that's where ravi's recent albums have failed sonically, imho.
I'm surprised by how similar my opinions are to a lot of the ones mentioned, other than favorite songs or members, seeing as I love all their songs pretty equally, and I love all the members with my entire being. (I don't really listen to Ravi's albums, which I sometimes feel bad about, so I can't say much about them)
I don’t know if it’s unpopular or not but On and On is still a great song even if released in this gen. The MV is ... something but the song itself is so enjoyable and fun. Also “I need therapy lalalalala therapy” is forever one of their most iconic lines.

Also I vaguely remember keo talking in an interview about giving each other compliments so as to prevent bad feelings

OTVIXX I agree. Proof of that are Vixx's Heroes of Remix stages. They are singing live, in Chinese, while dancing to unfamiliar choreography and they sound amazing.

Holo starlight I don’t mind the auto tune, but his voice is so great & distinctive he just doesn’t really need it.
Also, I've always said Hongbin's lower register should be utilized more. It is beautiful and sexy. I would definitely listen to a solo. I've actually always wanted a duet with Hongbin and Ravi where they use their lower registers and just kill all us Starlights with their sexiness. I think Hyuk is my favorite composer in VIXX. I love all of the songs he has composed and I can't say that about the others. I don't mind the autotone in Ravi's songs, but the problem is he uses it way too much. If it was only used in one or two songs that would be one thing. His voice is unique and beautiful and I think people just want to hear that. I'd be interested to know why he wants to use autotune. I think it's a stylistic choice and I'd like to know his thought process behind it. I also wish Jellyfish could promote more, but they are a small company with a limited amount of money compared to others. Promoting costs money. I also think they do the best they can with what they've got. I miss VIXX6

About Ravi and his love for autotune, did y'all see his performance with Xydo on Immortal Songs? His vocals were so raw there, cause there is 0 autotune and it sounded SO good! I just really dislike heavy autotune, it just with the recent albums from ONE and BTS who also use a lot of autune now and I just can't listen to it. Such a pitty because it doesn't mean the music is bad perse. So I really hope he will tone down the autotune, because his raw vocals are perfect as they are !
I love their music and their dancing, but honestly I think I love them the most because of how they are towards each other. They remind me of family and act like brothers all the time; even when they annoy each other it comes off as normal things siblings do. I think the way they were set up in the beginning was one of the best things to happen to them in regards to bonding together! I hope they all come back together stronger than ever and with lots of ideas for new music!

But here we go: 1) I wholeheartedly agree SuperHero is not a bad song at all. No matter how cringy for the members it may be, it definitely holds up like PD said near the end. 2) Hyuk enlisting this year would definitely be amazing to bringing 6VIXX back faster, but it’s all ultimately up to him. He’s doing quite a lot right now so that’s a major factor. But I’ll definitely respect whatever decision he makes cause I love him and want the best for him. And lastly 3), The last one kinda hurt me as a Leo Stan. I’ve listened to his solo albums and his voice is definitely my style. I’m also by no means a musical expert, so I really have no idea how high notes work. I guess either I’m super unpicky or too biased cause I love his high notes. Yep. As a long time fan that has been in the fandom as long as it existed, I can vouch that VIXX is NOT underrated. Back then? Maybe. Now? They’re not.
Being underrated means that they’re not being recognised for what they are. Now, VIXX is unique and people acknowledge that. They didn’t get the title of The King of Concepts for nothing. People recognise that, people acknowledge that, people follow their trends. That alone proves that they’re not underrated.
Also, they got first place at least once for every group comeback, they got various awards for their music every year, their album sales is pretty high that they got included as boy group with highest album sales during the last decade, they always go on tour with every album release and it’s almost always sold out. These are not things underrated group can easily do.
(You have to remember, underrated is not synonymous with “not as famous as” so while yes, VIXX might not as as famous as some other groups, they are not underrated.)

The thing about many new bgs and ggs sounding great live is bc it isn't exactly live.. or has a the backing vocals turned up high. And this is the case even when they are just standing and singing. But I do not agree that vixx sing live 90% of the time. Maybe 50 lol. However when they do, the backing vocals aren't as high and hence the flaws sounds more obvious. But that's expected while dancing.

There's also some clips exposing western artists messing up lip synching in their concerts so even if the fans hear the artists live , we can't really tell. But I think the person was pointing out vixx flaws being more obvious, and ig that is bc they really are doing it live and with lower backing vocals. Tho ofc im no expert in this lol.

your vid got me thinking about ravi's solo stuff. i'm ravi biased and he's my ult, i've listened to all his music and have all his albums. i support him doing what he loves and creating a body of work that is both diverse and full of passion. however, i do think that realize and nirvana were his two best albums. the more recent ones "flow" together better as a cohesive album with consistent sound, but i feel as though the sound is so consistent that it lacks variety, especially in the case of el dorado and limitless. the songs are good and usually sonically interesting when played on their own (like listening to just the title tracks/singles but nothing else), but when played one after another, its hard to figure out where one ends and another begins. the dedication to cohesion is admirable, but at times misplaced because it makes the album feel like it lacks individuality/color. take el dorado's cohesion vs eau de vixx's cohesion. el dorado uses almost entirely all the same instruments, shikkie's same vocal rap style (which, he has a variety of styles of rap and ways TO rap, especially looking at some of his own work and the work he's done for vixx), and autotune (which i don't want to comment on)... eau de vixx has similar instruments but not all in the same songs, a similar SOUND/STYLE/VIBE, and an energy that runs like a thread through all the songs even if they don't sound the same. each of the songs on EDV are great on their own, but they also are great when played consecutively in album order or in album shuffle. i think that's where ravi's recent albums have failed sonically, imho.
I'm surprised by how similar my opinions are to a lot of the ones mentioned, other than favorite songs or members, seeing as I love all their songs pretty equally, and I love all the members with my entire being. (I don't really listen to Ravi's albums, which I sometimes feel bad about, so I can't say much about them)

i hate the closer i feel jellyfish throwed everything in the bin and ruined the conception trilogy ... like you have them funky ,then super dark...and then a random freeze with hyuk in a random crashed car,and the song was not on par with the other 2 and the symbology was not there and it look like jellyfish just went with "well starlight will find a storyline in our place "

Honesty I agree with most of these. Definitely with the whole unstableness when performing live. It’s all about the stamina!! But they’re all my babies and so talented
I also wish Hyuk would enlist soon. But of course, it's his decision. So let's see what he does. Would be great to have all of Vixx together again before too long though.
