I've been around long enough, 83 years, to see predictions totally miss their marks. I remember back in 1950 the prediction was for flying cars, (didnt really happen, igloo shaped fiberglass houses, fusion powered electrical grid, a big rotating space station by 1980, and a twenty hour work week. The problem seems to be that we cannot predict what we cannot imagine. Predictions would simply consist of extensions of what we already knew. . Nobody predicted GPS, ChatGPT,, Space telescopes, MRIs and CT scans, the extent of microcircuit technology, and certainly not the versatility of smartphones and the internet., the understanding of genetics and DNA. The predictions made today will eventually sound at naive as the 1950 predictions do to us today.

Tbh we do have flying cars but only prototypes also flying cars are very dangerous you expect the whole world to build flying highways in 50 years? And would you trust someone with a flying car? Easy access them for them to do terrorist attacks, there are good reasons flying cars has never been fully invented/mass produced

Fusion Power will probably become feasible, most likely the norm.
Fusion engines on space ships will likely open up the solar system.
I doubt humans will leave the solar system by 2300, but we could have Fusion powered AI probes on the way to other solar systems if not already there. This is assuming that FTL is impossible, which is most likely.
Of course who knows what technology and physics will be developed by 2300.

Electric cars sound nice in theory. But if you factor that the materials needed to make the batteries need to be mined and eventually those materials will become harder to find. Also, to produce these batteries require still require oil products to find the material and to run factories to make the batteries. Then we have to deal with the waste that comes from dead or damaged batteries. And the average cost to own such a car won't pay for itself for at least a decade or two of constant driving.

I think we're going to be back to pre-industrial conditions in 300 years. Technology isn't going to increase the whole time we're here. It's going to peak. Then it's going to decline. There'll be major events that speed up the rate at which it declines. For example, there'll be something like the Carrington event that will wipe out all our satellites. We'll realize as we wean ourself off of fossil fuels that we just can't consume as much energy as we're used to consuming, and that will require major lifestyle changes.

I don't know why the first thing technology everyone thinks of is flying cars.
Flying is a specialist skill. The air is unstable and the ground is stable. By all means we may have more fitting vehicles and objects in the form of taxis, emergency services and delivery drones. But the average child won't be learning how to fly and we won't flying highways. The most we'll "fly" will be one or two feet above the ground using hovercrafts. But this star wars/ Jetsons of us flying right up in the sky ain't going to happen.

The comment about running out of fossil fuels, and hoping that we somehow figure it out... I'll tell you how that ends up, just refer back to the immediately previous comment you made about entrenched feudalism. Running out of fossil fuels will be THE thing that solidifies that.
