Brother my i5 12450hx is running at max clock speed in GTA 5 ie 4191mhz something with temps in 70-80 range. But in RDR2 its running at 3800mhz with 80-85 temp range.. my question is ,is it ok to run cpu at max clock speed like in GTA 5? Will it damage the cpu on the long run?
No....
brother GTA V is CPU and GPU dependent game that's why it uses CPU and GPU both....
and RDR2 is tottaly GPU dependent... but you're using upsacling then it will use your CPU a little more.... And maybe that's why your temperature may also become a little higher.....
but don't worry 80-85 is normal for nay gaming laptops... it's good temp..
and if you want more stable clock and better thermals then set your power plan to best power efficiency mode in windows settings....

Brother Hellblade 2 is a very graphical intensive game... and it is being tested at 1440p... and it also has a frame gen supports, an I'm sure with frame gen you will get 60+ fps at highest settings...

Brother mother board dead issues have happened to some people only and that too I think it may be due to some mistake or some short circuit or due to overheating... otherwise it is not a special issue, that it will happen to everyone
And rest is your specs performance it's same as i5 12450h and 78540hs (some times better then i5 and little bit less the R7)
So don't worry it's good option according to price and performance...
Or if you can share your budget then may be i can help you with some other laptops...
