This is Tammy who you met at the Tiny House. So glad you are taking care of your self. All of us Idaho hikers are rooting for you! Stay safe and have fun! Tammy
So sorry for your poison oak experience. Wishing you the best. Look forward to seeing you back on trail. Of all the 2024 hikers I'm following, I think you two have a better chance of completing it than some of the others. Your making good miles right from the get go while some of the others are struggling to make 10 per day.
So amazing to follow your journey! Sadie that’s the wrong trail magic to get lol. Zag looking good bud. Miss you guys and enjoy each step and time together. Love you guys Bad Uncle Joe.
Glad to hear that you were able to get her to the necessary medical attention and prevent the issue from spiraling totally out of control. Taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, there is perhaps a silver lining to this cloud. Given the latest snowfall at San Jacinto and points further north, taking a break may be a wise decision for several reasons. With that in mind and considering that Sadie's complete recovery may be assisted by smaller mileage days at first, this all may turn out to be beneficial given downtrail conditions. Just trying to see the potential positive aspects. I hope Sadie is feeling better and that you are soon on your way again! Wherever the trail may lead -- Be safe; keep at it!
Frizz and Bonkers following you both and wishing you the best of luck on your hike! We both met on trail in 2016 and are married with kids now. We both love your style and personalities
Your putting in some good mileage. Sounds like she has a mild allergy to it. Calamine lotion works wonders on it Gotta get the hiker lingo down 😊 "hitch" is getting a ride and "Zero day(s)"lets us know your not quitting but just having a, or some non-hiking days usually in one of the small towns😀 great editing thanks for sharing!
Hello guys, I'm glad you made the right decision. I hope Mrs Sadie gets well soon. I'm definitely enjoying your style of video taping👍. Sending positive vibes your way from Kansas City. Happy Trails
Really enjoy following you as you take the time to share your journey. Good move to take care of yourself and identify sources of poison oak. Sending healing thoughts from Oregon.
Wow! Making good progress. Sorry to hear about the Urgent Care and having to take a few days. Smart choice though. Heal well. Looking forward to see you back on trail.
Sorry about the poison oak. I had an ER worthy case last year…it was pretty terrible until I got some shots. Wish you a speedy recovery. I’ll be on the trail in three weeks and will be phobically concerned about poison oak.
Friendly tip: if you boil water on a table, it might tipp over and cause havoc for anybody in its wake. Much safer to place your stove on the ground or on the bench beside you 😊
Also you can find trail angels and hikers posting on a popular social media site your friends are on listed as trail angels with the name of the general areas you'll be hiking through. Example in far Norcal there is Quincy Burney and Etna trail Angels with their own pages. Probably others closer to you in Southern/ Central Cal. They have the info on, or offer hitches, food and accomodations.
Poison oak sucks. I often carry Tecnu wash for it. Generally the PCT is just open chaparral without much poison oak, but you have to be careful near water sources. It's species name is "diversilobum" which is appropriate because it can be a hanging vine, a tree, a crawling shrub, etc.
Actually, out west, it's poison oak. It's a totally different plant....they look like oak leaves...thus the name. I've experienced the problem a number of times, resulting in visits to a doctor. Very uncomfortable.
Lol Bad Santa did you have to Edit out all of his language 💩💩🙈🙉🙊 Hope you're feeling better , looking forward to seeing you continue the trail Did you guys get a trail name yet I've been calling you the smurfs
Now you know, right? We have poison oak all over up here in Oregon. Once you know what it looks like you see it everywhere! I’m loving your videos. Thank you for taking the time. My husband and I will be back out mid-April to pick up at mile 151. Happy hiking!🥾
Glad you got it sorted. Best thing to do.

Your quest is beginning with some interesting challenges. We hope you are able to persevere through to the end...
It really has been an interesting start. But it's all part of the experience hiking the PCT. Lots of great learning lessons.

V good trail/hiking management 👏👏👏
You’re doing great.
its early, plenty of time to get in the miles, so get well, go slow, take your time, let the body break in.

That sucks! Be very careful while you're hiking. We are going to be putting comments in the Farout app if we see any around.

Good advice. Also a fuel can stand can help a lot with stability cheers
I'm super sensitive to that stuff as well!! Gonna have to wear pants and long sleeves when I do it.

Hi, nice to meet you.
This is South Korea.
I am also planning PCT next year.
I encourage you to finish until the end.
We'll keep watching. Fighting~!!
Poison Oak. Just like poison ivy but PI doesn’t grow west of the Rockies. Safe travels. More snow dumped in the Sierra and more to come April 5-6
Smart move to take a rest.
Better to be safe... than... y'all take care.

Definitely NOT fun - glad you're getting better and will be back out there.

Yup I'm used to east coast plants. Lesson learned! I have a whole photo collage of the bad plants in the west as my Screensaver now. 😬

@@sadieandzag There's something like a 142 boy Smurf names But only one Smurfette
Poison Ivy sucks! You guys were sitting in the creek surrounded by poison Ivy. Get some rest and no scratching!
Yeah that was my Darwin of the year award moment 🤦♀️ never again!!!
