Can't believe it's been 10 years already. I found you probably 9 years ago when I'd had some major surgery on my back & couldn't walk so was looking for something to do. You got me started on my beading obsession & for that I'll always be grateful. Still not brilliant at it but it brings me joy. xx
Wow! That's amazing! I am 67 and back when I was in my early twenties seems like there was a two step resin product that we used to pour over tables and other wooden things. I remember doing a puzzle that was octagonal and having it on a round table then pouring the resin mixture over it. You had to put vaseline on the underneath area of rhe piece you were doing and making sure the piece was elevated with like newspaper underneath. It was quite a messy process, lol, but fun.
Hi Kelly, I just want you to know that I am so appreciative of a video you made years ago about making a chain maille bracelet. The comments were turned of so I couldn't leave a message there. I first saw you when you participated in the bead off with all the others last year. Your chain maille instructions were just awesome. I had watched a couple others before and they just didn't cut it the way your explanation did. So I just wanted to say thank you much. I live only a couple hours away in SC. I hope to drive up to visit your shop and meet you when the weather decides to behave, haha. Again Thank you so much for that video. I am so happy that you continue to make videos, like this resin one. You are a great instructor. Hope you are well.
I have used regular 2 part resin in the past with jewelry making & always had issues with it. ( mixing the exact proportions needed to be exact, yellowing over time, & having only a few short minutes to use up the resin before it starts to thicken & having to wait at least 24 hours to fully cure) all makes creating less than successful. I totally love UV resin; makes each step so easy and the end result is almost instant. 😍😍😍😍😍
Love your fun video and beautiful earrings. I experience curling resin if I have added too much color or inclusions. The resin is trying to reach the light. The same thing happens if you try to use a colored mold, like a Candy mold, resin curls up away from the mold. I watched a video the other day, where a lady has her lamp sitting on a mirror, so it gets light from the top and the under side.
That was awesome, I been wanting to try resin but never got to do it, I didn't realize it can be so easy (well, you made it look easy anyway) I really liked the earrings you made, so, maybe you won't be the only one on earth with this ones lol 😂 I might just attempt to copy them to the T. Thank you Kelly for a fun class 💗
Hi there! Just wanted to say a few things 😋 JDiction UV Resin is the absolute BEST uv resin I have ever used, in case anyone is having trouble with their current brand💕 In fact I've gotten some of every product they have put out and loved every single one! Definitely can't go wrong getting your supplies from JDiction! A couple of tips I think I could help with for the parts of the video I got to see lol.. (great tip about clear molds and to use transparent colors etc with uv resin btw!) If you get warped pieces it's due to the shrinkage or the resin, all resins will do it even epoxy, some more than others ofc, BUT some tips are 1. Cure have the time in the one side and then flip the mold to cure fm the other side 2. If u get a warped piece u can still straighten it while it's warm (or rewarm it) sandwich it between table and books etc ☺️ 3. Sometimes this can be avoided altogether by not over-curing, or curing slowly with intervals.. like do 30 seconds, allow to cool then another 30 etc .. and further fm the light source and heat of the lamp (like have the piece on your table and have the lamp raised up on a platform above it) and just one last quick one for inclusions like the chatons 🥰 (gorgeous btw!) You can put some resin in a lil cup and drop the chatons in there and coat it before adding into ur mold to keep fm getting those leaky bubbles that like to get trapped! That one's been esp handy for me!! Great tutorial and very fun!!
Thanks, Carol. I wondered about the different Resins. I have only used the brand that Michael’s and hobby lobby carries that’s actually in their jewelry department. And the one from Joannes where I could use a 50% off coupon. I do have some finished pieces that have been in my craft room for a year that have yellowed. I’m not sure which resin did it I haven’t kept track. I think I’ll try some Jaddiction.
i have a question i just UV resiin and it says Hard i open it took the under cover out and i try to pore it but the resin was very hard to pore into the mode the resin says in the bottle DecorRom uv resin and i also had another Resin and its call Frenshion clear expoxy resin i try to pore it but the cover doe'nt have a hole to pore it can you please tell me if i am suppose to make a hole on the top of the bottle since i have never work with UV Resin
I do that - seems to work most of the time. Just spritz from a spray bottle. I use 98% kind. Tip: store your bottle nozzle side down in a jar or something to help avoid bubbles forming. Always watch that first blob coming out and if it's a bubble, pop it on a piece of paper towel. Hope you have fun crafting w this!
I have a question. Just started using uv resin. I seem to have a problem removing it from the resin tape, doesn't happen all the time. The tape leaves a sticky mark on my piece. tried wiping it off with alcohol but didn't get it all. Any suggestions.
@@offthebeadedpath girl u want me to spend more money 😂 I love the round nose and the other pliers (brain fart).... you will see my order by Thursday..
I watched a video that reviewed UV resin which said all resin will yellow some over time. Some brands more than others. So I'm wondering what to do. Jdiction does have a new formula out.
It happened in Louisana Mardi Gras does you should see my beautiful Mardi Gras coasters they are delightful beautiful. I love what you make you go girl
Kelly you don’t know me, but you can take my word for this…If you are going to work with any kind of resin-USE A RESPIRATOR!! I used UV resin for a while and I didn’t listen to the warnings of a friend. All resin release gas when heated or cured.. Now I have breathing problems I wheeze constantly, just walk down the street feels like I’m going to suffocate. I have coughing fits…Please use a respirator of some kind…thanks

How long do you leave the resin out side if not using the machine?

Can we use alcohol to eliminate de bubbles like with regular resin?

The lighter will mess up your piece if held closely. I would recommend to move the resin with a large wood skewer❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Does the resin have an odor after curing?
No
Very nicely done on how to information. I hate those info videos that just have music and show you a brief how to pictorial.
Will you be carrying this product?
No. If you look in the video description I give direct links to where you can purchase the product.
Tôi ước video có phụ đề Tiếng Việt. Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều
Fun! Fun! Fun!
Fun
I've cured mine on the dash of my car in the sun. Worked great.
😊
👍😀
Do you need to wear a safety mask?.
YES! Respirator kind. Gloves also.
I really dislike glitter. It looks like something my grandkids would bring home from 3rd grade. I’d like to make something more mature.
