Meet Juan and Maria. Juan and Maria live in Guatemala with their mom and infant brother, Hugo. Just over a year ago, their father died in a road accident, leaving Juan and Maria's mother to support all three children. Jobless, and without someone to help care for them, they now hike for more than 4 hours a day to the city dump in search of rotten food. Somedays they eat. Other days they don't. Sometimes what little food they find makes them ill because it is rotten. No mother should be forced to raise her kids this way and no child should be forced to rummage through fifth and garbage to find food.
This week, we are partnering with Food for the Poor to feed starving children in Guatemala. Each purchase provides meals for one child for two months, meaning the difference between life and death.
My 4.5 year old through a tantrum because he didn't get the toy he wanted in his happy meal. I showed him this video to show him WHY we should be grateful to even be eating. So tragic.
And he still didn't give a shit...did he?

I did the exact same thing because he wanted a small car his uncle bought. He asked where their dad was and I told him his dad passed away, ofc he doesn't fully gasps the meaning of that but his eyes got watery and then I told him they didn't even have food or toys and he should be grateful. He told me "car uncle not mine" and gave me a kiss and left to hug his dad.
I'm just super happy at how bright he is.

How old are you?? I'm 21, I'm just a student and I'm not coming from a rich background but, i bake 40 or 50 pieces of cake everyweek and giving it to homeless people here in Egypt! Sometimes I cook food (spaghetti) myself and buying plastic dishes to put in it, then giving it to people who sleeping rough on the street, thanks to God till now I gave food to more than 300 homeless people! You can do it as well. I gotta say that I found a lot of happeniss in doing so. ❤

This.....it could have been me. I was adopted from Guatemala when I was six months old. My mother could have kept me and this could have been my life. I feel so blessed with everything I have. I feel blessed that I was able to be adopted into a family who could take care of me.

There are people who eat from the garbage in the First World countries to there are homeless people poor people in the United States there are poor people all over the world there are kids in Africa that wish they had a dump to go through

I can’t imagine how all of them feel. We take so much for granted, or complain about things that are really not a big deal at all. These people are so strong. I hope and pray that god blesses them and that they can one day live the life they deserve to experience. 🙏❤️

I remember a cold morning in Mexico seeing about 5 kids sleeping in the sidewalk with a few newspapers as blankets. My dad met a little boy and little girl who were trying to get on the bus, he gave them money, they were trying to get to Alaska to search for their missing father.
I’m showing this video to my little cousin when she has a tantrum because her dad didn’t get her the £100 toy she wanted. We really do need to start being more grateful for the things we have. 😢
I showed this video to my nieces n nephews who don't eat food or waste food.. this video made me very emotional

How heartbreaking this is for anyone to live like this. If I could find them, I would take them home with me to sleep in a warm bed with a good hot meal. They could could take a hot shower with lots of toys and never know hunger again.

Every time I see videos like this I know am justified every time I donate money. All my friends always yell at me am not wealthy but atleast if we’re out I have money to go buy a cheeseburger or a hotdog. I can not see a homeless person on the street and not buy them a slice of pizza or a hotdog and give them like three dollars in case they get hungry. I spend like forty dollars on my food and give away like forty dollars because I help more then one person. My friends scream at me all the time but it’s not right for u to eat and others just watch. Most of the homeless either have ptsd, left a abusive situation or let’s say they do have a problem is it not better to help them then judge. Everyone I know suck and don’t care about anyone. Last time I was out a woman grabbed my leg and said am soooo hungry please I beg of you give me five dollars am so hungry my friend cursed me off and called me every name in the book but I gave the lady what she asked I will never let anyone starve it’s just wrong.
