29:56 And it only took them 10 whole years of teasing us with "maybe they will, maybe they won't." Now they're in a sentient world and it's having none of that. A little push from Ever After was necessary... and yes, despite the Jaune revelations, this still feels like the real focus of the episode.
i’m so glad you noticed the mother’s promise rose pendant that ruby gave away. i’ve always noticed how ruby gave away parts of herself on behalf of her team and this just solidified that idea. in v6e2 she did something similar where she looked to her team before she decided to ask jinn the question (i honestly think that if not for their hostility towards qrow she wouldn’t have asked) whereas here she looks at her team and decides that their situation is of more importance. i honestly think she’s a great leader always putting others before herself and i wish people even WBY would take more notice because they look to her for answers and blame her when it goes up in flames.
Bit late to this, had to process ep8. It leaves you reeling. So much Summer! People think that was her weapon. And that was Alyx's knife that she had to get back from Jinxy. A mothers promise, have a re-listen to red like roses part 2. Jaune's jackalope is called Juniper, also remember volume 4 when Jaune says he was always a warriors wolftail kinda guy and ruby says that's just a ponytail? ALSO the opening changed after this ep to include the Jaune face reveal, before that we just had the helmet. The OST is called Chatterbox. The story doesn't follow the Alice in Wonderland story, just uses aesthetics and characters. The Cheshire Cat becomes the Curious Cat, the Jabberwocky is the Jabberwalker, Red queen is gender-bent, the Caterpillar is the Herbalist and so on. Also about Herb, in AIW the Caterpillar becomes a butterfly and the forge lady was making a butterfly wing. Current theory is she's a manifestation of The Tree and was remaking Herb. Don't worry about not spotting this, easy to miss but at 23:43 you can see Summer as Ruby's reflection. And what Weiss saw was Atlas falling, then they were playing the Atlantis motif. After Alyx poisoned Jaune you can see the Cat's eyes behind the fire. Something to keep in mind is that no one actually seems to know what happened to Lewis, it's just guesses. And what the Tree does is a matter of perspective. Everafter just went 'and now kiss' to Yang and Blake lol. Ruby is not doing good, keep in mind its been about a week for her since V7 when Salem mentioned her mother, now think about how much has happened since... she keeps being offered a chance to become someone else, and now she's given up her mothers sigil. And is reacting badly to her weapon. The girl who called Crescent Rose an extension of herself. She is spiraling and her team don't even realise.
oh God, this volume is an emotional rollercoaster. can't wait for u to watch the next two episodes Btw, a few details I think you missed. At the crossroads, when Ruby walks by those reflecting things, her reflection was Summer and yes, at the blacksmith that was Summer she saw. I personally think Penny ascended into being little, because they are so similar. Baby boy Jaune has now evolved to Daddy Jaune. he's a dilf and Weiss' daddy issues are showing, thus her thirsting over him. BUMBLEBEE IS CANNON HELL YEAH Weiss and Jaune are bee shippers, but Ruby doesn't seem that excited, does she. she is deep in her thoughts. And the cat- yeah, we'll talk abt them later.. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THESE 2 EPISODES, FOR THE NEXT TWO JUST BE PREPARED AND BE CAREFUL FOR SPOILERS HAVE A GOOD DAY
33:53 So far, from what we know up to this episode, the cat hasn't said anything false, but his lies have been Ozpin style... by omission. I'm in no ways trying to compare him to Ozpin, since we'd have to know exactly what the cat has been hiding, but yes, the cat is definitely hiding shit.
Theres a theory milling around that popped immediately after this episode that Jaune may have to sacrifice himself to the tree to allow team RWBY to go back.
Man watching your reaction is nutty in the best way. It really is a whole other ball game if you're not watching the opening. Especially this season. Bravo lol
33:10 Very important key words in what Jaune just said: "I think..." While I wouldn't say that the cat is trustworthy in any capacity, remember how he lashed out at Oscar in volume 6 despite Oscar having nothing to do with his frustration other than being Ozpin's host. There's a whole bunch of theories about what might have really happened. I'm too lazy to type them all right now. I'm sure other people in the comments will do that, though.
He’s not lying though. She asked him for a certain answer he doesn’t have. He answered with what he thinks happened and he has some reasons to believe it.
Ry, this is really a WHOLE LOT to bring together even for many FNDM vets like me!! You'll be able to sort things out thru the comments and maybe a couple rewatches. But, I know one thing....... And RT has been consistent in this with RWBY. For every moment we needed to make us happy, there's a price we will pay later. So, let's enjoy the return of Jaune and the Bumblebee Union (FINALLY!!) while we can!! But, Ruby...... I don't think she can enjoy nothing now. I'm truly worried for her now. The panic I see when Crescent Rose was before her..... 100% PTSD!!! I've seen it in a few fellow army veterans including my dad. She needs some help You're almost caught up to the show now, bro. It pretty weird right now, but keep your mind and eyes open. I've been finding it hard to keep up the pace of this volume myself!! 🤣 See ya next week!!!
WOOOO YEAAAAH as of next episode the intro is completely spoiler free if u wanna watch it btw :-) the next 2 are BANGERS, episode 8 may be my favourite im the series. So excited for u to reach them next week
14:00 Ascend, not descend... and we don't know for sure if the whole "not ascend if the Jabberwalker eats you" thing applies to the real Jabberwalker only, or if it also applies to Neo's clones.
After you said "I'm pregnant" I was waiting for you to follow it up with '..and it's your baby' I was so disappointed 😂 After seeing these episodes again I wonder if putting down her weapon and picking up another would give her the other person's burdens. She was told.she could put down her burdens and pick another weapon/life.. like everyone there does? I am very confused with that place right now.
Jaune is now officially one of the oldest people alive I guess. Don't know how long he waited or how long he was there, but it has to have been a very long time
Spiders, lizards(home gekos) & shrews are few animals that are considered other pest controls since they eat insects or arachnids or other small pests.....but beware which 1 is human friendly since some spiders are not
Jaune’s mount here is called a Jackrabbit and is a mythical beast said to live in my home state of Texas. I thought I saw one once in the mountains but I couldn’t be sure or prove it. IT’s generally believed to not actually exist and its origins are said to have been of weird Taxidermy between a young deer’s antlers and a Rabbit. This I believe was placed into RWBY here as a reference to not only the company’s home state “also Texas” as well as they needed a white rabbit for the Alice in Wonderland theme as well as a white steed for Jaune as the knight in the story also from Alice in Wonderland.
31:59 What everyone is thinking right now: Yang and Blake: "Let's start taking our clothes off before... oh... nevermind." Juniper: "DAAAAAAAAAMN!" Weiss: "It's actually happening and it's beautiful and I missed the build-up thanks to that stupid cat!" Also Weiss: "You and I are next, Ruby Rose." Ruby: "Damnit, I just lost that bet with Nora." Little: "Why is the cat girl eating the blonde girl?" Jaune: About 85% of the fandom (the other 15% are the homophobes and the Black Sun shippers).
So if I don't like the bumblebee ship I am a homophobe? Maybe I don't like the bumblebee ship because I don't like Yang as a character after her development after getting over her trauma she been poorly written imo.
Antlered Rabbit, not mouse. Called a Jackalope. I've always heard they are really fast but 1 minute of googling how fast gave me jackrabit speeds(~40mph, 45 mph is the highest recorded) to 50% faster then a jackrabit(saw 63 mph in one place).
I feel rwby's version of reincarnation is a posession(possessing a body) and accension is reincarnation(reborn in different form but similar)....only resurrection seems to stay the same so far....wierd changes
Pls pay attention on the next 2 episodes. Drink monster and be as ready as you can get. They are 2 of the best episodes of the series and i hope you enjoy them.
Hi - I think my mental state is now sufficient to get back to watching RWBY - still collecting myself a bit :D Cat casually breaking the fourth wall. It hurts me so much how clear it is Ruby was hurt by the fact nobody from the team would go with her. This is interestingly a black dot for everyone but Yang - she was the first to offer covering the cat so she gets a pass as it was legit. Notice the blacksmith lady is forging a wing (perhaps for a catterpillar finally becoming a butterfly?) Ruby seems to be holding Alyx's dagger after it changes from the Pennyblade. We heard that Alyx had a dagger back at the auction and it seems to be her in the reflection. That Axe seemed to be Summer's weapon. Presumably this makes Summer's second (and the more important) allusion the hunter/woodcutter from Red Riding Hood. Ruby giving up her emblem is mega concerning - not only "It carries mother's promise" could be extremely dangerous if it actually works like that but its Ruby giving up part of her identity. And yet again they leave Ruby behind. Yes he just died after being mind controlled by the cat - holy shit. And Weiss drops more emotional baggage on Ruby -.- Jaune finally has that Warrior's Wolftail he mentioned back in S4. The thing Jaune saw falling was Crescent Rose Well Jaune fell last so technically he should have been there for the shortest - to be fair how dumb can you be to grab that clock tho. Btw Jaune seems to be Qrow's age now. OF COURSE THATS PYRRHA'S RIBBON - nice catch dude, I cant believe I missed it. Pretty "Curious" - DAMN IT BARB Jaune didnt catch Weiss this time. First Mirror - Ruby's reflection is Summer It seems the mirrors might show mental turmoil or trauma. Each person is shown baggage they have (Ruby losing her mother, Weiss failing Atlas - Look closely at Weiss' face with this one its very telling, Jaune killing Penny) Can you guess Lewis' alusion? (Hint: He is a famous real person) - once you do you might have some theories click into place. Interesting Jaune sees younger himself. I wonder why that is traumatic to him. My new favourite RWBY song GO! I feel like this Bumblebee moment was done so well and is so heartwarming. But at the same time it pisses me off greatly since they are too busy falling in love to be there for Weiss AND ESPECIALLY Ruby - the fact that Yang especially - isnt there for her sister is so telling. Additional theory - Lewis and Alyx might be related to Ozpin since they look like that one family we saw in the Lost Fable (maybe thata a coincidence tho) I actually think Jaune is irrevertably older now - unless they find a way to roll him back. Actually its not very much alike with Alice in Wonderland at all. Its its own story just somewhat similiar.
Hey, I'm just curious but iirc you didn't seem to be that into the idea of bumbleby during your V6 and early V7 reactions. Am I right in guessing the more interactions they had in 7 and 8 made you like it more or did I misinterpret your reactions in the first place?
I was torn between Blake & Yang or Blake & Sun 😅 but since it became clear that Sun and Blake weren't gonna be in a relationship I just got the idea in my head of Bumblebee instead 😅
@@Rykage_ ah, actually fairly similar for me. Volume 1-3 liked both but a preference to Yang and Blake, then Volume 4 and 5 had lots of Sun and Blake so I started to like that, then Volume 6 I was torn again and 7 and 8 made me like Yang and Blake enough to make me enjoy this scene in Volume 9 alot
