You quickly mention "...sleep in a low-oxygen tent ...". I'm an amateur ultra runner that lives at sea level, but I have several events in the next few years with a max elevation of 3600m. I'm considering buying a sleeping tent and mask (w/ Hypoxico Sierra 100 generator) to help me acclimate (I can't go more than a week early to the event locations) so that I have a good experience during the races (ie not looking to podium or even run comparable paces to lower elevation, just to minimize altitude suffering). In your opinion, is this is reasonable option to try?

I don't know the literature on these devices. I just know they exist, and people use them. Sorry, I can not give advice on there use or level of effectiveness.
