    Paulie doesn't do short answers. Paulie takes you into some Q&A vortex where not only can't you remember the question, you can't remember a time when there was no Paulie talking.

    Idk why people hate on Paulie. He didn't get the respect he deserves from the mcgregor camp. As a former 2 division world champ and a high IQ mind in boxing, he should've got better treatment as he has a lot to offer to Conor.

    What Paulie is saying about his muscle memory coming back exponentially is definitely true. You can use weight lifting as an example. As a long time weight trainer, if take a year off of lifting and go back to the gym with a friend who has been lifting 3 months total, they will definitely be stronger than me the first day. After a week or so, I may catch up a bit. But as the weeks go on, I will start to make much quicker strength gains as the friend is growing at a gradual pace. In Paulie's case, the muscle memory is more so with the msucle's position through space, opposed to its strength or size, but it's a very similar concept.

    • @eduardofray5456
      @eduardofray5456 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adamack Beats Absolutely agree bro. I've been boxing since I was 14 I'm 25 now and I've been out of the gym of almost 3 years. Even though I'm out of shape I still got the old stuff in there it just needs to come out at some point. Ain't no young buck who's learning boxing gonna get the best of me.

    • @HaxellMence
      @HaxellMence 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are slightly diferente concepts though. There's a difference in storing certain movement patterns by tasks, which do get stored and do get better quick when you stop and resume executing them, and being at the gym training strength and/or hypertrophy. In that situation, you get bigger/stronger because you had more sattelite cells and more nuclei in your muscle cells that allow for faster regeneration and more/faster muscle unit recrutement over time.
      I agree with you, but the analogy is not perfect. Lift are about movement patters and task, but involve more strentght output than throwing a good punch combination and a kick, which definitely envolves MORE about the movement pattern and coordenation.

    It's been noted already, but props to Aerial for letting Paulie tell his side of the story. As a boxing fan of 20+ years , an Irishman and fan of McGregor, I have to say that if what Paulie said is true, then Conor and his camp are damn right out of order for how they have treated this man and foolish for not recognizing what Malignaggi would have brought to their camp - a former two weight world champion, who has mixed it with some of the finest in the business, highly respected within the boxing circles and has a high boxing IQ. I think Paulie has possibly hit the nail on the head here, McGregor is hindering is own progression though his arrogance to take advice from others. Anyone who thinks that sparring the likes of Lobov or Charlie Ward is going to get Conor ready for the Mayweather fight is delusional. I wish Conor and his team well but personally I think that they have handled things poorly and have lost credibility.

    I have the utmost respect for this 2 time champ, he's never been shy about expressing his opinion but he has never been less than authentic .... I was disappointed @ the outcome, I would rather he stayed the course, but after hearing his side of the equation I can understand why he did not... it's hard to wrap my mind around because I know that Kavanagh & Owen Roddy are class acts, I thought Conor was too ... I don't like the way Paulie was treated.

    For all the people saying paulie is in the wrong and saying why is he ranting everywhere. Picture this, he offers to help mcgregor and gets there to find that they are just setting him up to make Conor look good. I mean putting paulie in some crack house in a bad neighbourhood is just so petty. Along with all the photos released without context it's just unnecessary and it shows what Conor's camp are really all about. There's no need for that behaviour, surely you would want paulie to be at his best and taken care of so you can learn from him?

    If Paulie is lying throughout this whole thing, he's a damn good liar. Seems quite authentic and to be honest I didn't like him at first, but hearing his story here he comes off as a genuine, standup respectable dude with good morals. To me he's the winner coming out of this, and hate to say it but Connor has let the money, fame, and power get to him. I also wouldn't be surprised if hanging out with Dana White has made his corruption even worse. Dana also used to be a decent guy until the money fame and power got to him (just google about his mom).

    Paulie dropping lots of boxing knowledge in here. I came here for the beef, but Paulie explains the importance of body shots and why they work, how they work. He explains certain training mindsets and why boxers do them in training camp. Very insightful. Paulie has a lot of knowledge. A real treat to pick up these pieces of knowledge in this interview. The whole McGregor thing is irrelevant. The boxing knowledge is what interests me here.

    I always suspected that Conor's supposed life stories were BS about his life in Ireland, they just sounded too made up to me. He claimed to work on some horrible construction site etc and showed the place, but coincidentally it's all closed down now and the company doesn't exist anymore (so you can't fact check his story). I think a lot of his life stories are lies to try to make his life sound more interesting and like an underdog in life etc. I can see through his BS, I have recognized that he isn't a good person for years now.
    At least some of his fans are waking up also (usually you look down in the comments and see some of his fans saying horrible stuff, but it looks like some of them have woke up finally to how much of a liar and douche Conor actually is).

    He honestly believes the stuff he's saying. He's so broken by his experience that he's had to lie to himself to feel better about it. This entire run on sentence of his is purely him showing exactly what really happened. He tried damn hard to make himself look like he has the most integrity and all. He back tracked so much. Everything he complained about is what he himself felt, uncomfortable and weak.

    You will never hear this crap about Mayweather's camp. This is why I root for Mayweather even tho I don't like him as an individual. Conor is just an absolute POS. Arrogant, average fighter that calls out old retired fighters feeling like he's on top of the world. Anybody with a brain will believe Paulie just for the referee statement at 55:44. Come August 26, Conor will be embarrassed and dismissed like Ronda.

    "I'm gonna bring him in and he's gonna answer to what he's been saying" - The only reference Conor ever made to Paulie before sparring. He did exactly that. Paulie is a fool for thinking McGregor said it for 'promo'

    Has anyone mentioned the thought of Paulie doing this to set himself up for a fight with Conor after May/Mac? There is tension between the two, this "drama" gets people wondering who won the sparring, etc. Paulies a smart guy.

    Love him or hate him, Paulie is a warrior. Always took the hardest fights and he always had to fight in opponents backyards. The guy has been short changed with more bad decisions then most and he fought most of his career with bad hands, leaving him with little to no punching power. I find it really lame of Connor to try to humiliate and disrespect a fellow fighter like this, especially one who might not have caught much of a break in his long, tough career.

    Pauli is 100% right. Conor always wants the advantage, that's why he made a career off fighting men 2x as small as him. This is the reason he decided to fight Nate out of all other LWs. He's never defended a belt for a reason, he knows he'll lose it and he won't have the advantage anymore.

    Conor's camp asking for the sparring partners to leave in that situation is not bad. Of course Conor is going to try unorthodox techniques. If they already saw what he was working on, the camp wouldn't know if they work effectivly. Paul sounds like a good guy, but very emotional.
