i use 21:9 and i couldn't tell you how many times i've yelled at my teammates the location of the enemy.

Is that a thing? I'd be surprised if the game gives you a competitive advantage over 16:9 players. I thought it would just make your vertical fov smaller.

Its a trade off that things look small in the middle of the screen but wide on the side.
while 4:3 are much bigger in the middle and smaller on the side.
I honestly prefer having all of my vision but some people really do prefer having a bigger target in front of their screen than all of their vision

@@justanotherjew223 I played with 4:3 all of csgo, but cs 2 is way better on 16:9. It even made some pros change, so just do some games with it, you might suck but it's so much better :D

Ppl should be playing 16:10, its a mix of both. You get more FPS than 16:9, and somewhat of a similar mouse movement to 4:3.

Very true, I played 4:3 for about 10 years and just switched to 16:9 in January. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to 16:9 and I don't think I will ever go back. 4:3 defiantly has some advantages but the visibility, graphics and lowered enemy movement speed on 16:9 is really nice.

I cant help , cs2 doesnt give 144fps on 1080p native . And low res 16:9 just doesnt feel good . 4:3 960p is the way to go for me

@@unemploymentfan7098 The same exact same mouse movements are required, but now you have a non-uniform sensitivity (horizontal axis becomes more sensitive per cm on screen, tho not per degree), it's playing with a disadvantage and it's just in your head that makes it "feel better"

People who think using 4:3 makes the hitboxes bigger are stupid. Yeah, they are bigger, but they would be bigger the same way, like on a bigger screen
Never understood why people play 4:3 seems like its only got disadvantages
Brings the HUD closer to the middle of the screen (though can use the safe zone feature to help there anyway)
Lowers the horizontal fov, which when playing stretch makes targets look bigger on the screen, people with smaller screens need that I suppose
Not enough benefits over having a higher fov imo, 16:9 gives you 106 hfov, which isn't that high to be honest, sitting closer to the screen or having a bigger screen is all I can suggest to those that struggle with the size of the target
@CorrosiveCitrus targets are bigger but screen width is smaller, still seems like a disadvantage to me, but people do what they like :). I also play 16 : 10 so idk maybe im just used to it

People who use 4:3 are annoying asf. I play with a small crosshair , and 4:3 players with their low ass resolution can’t see it, so whenever I’m being spectated every other game there’s a 4:3 player complaining that I don’t have a crosshair
smaller resolutions make small crosshairs bigger, as a crosshair's size is measured in pixels. a crosshair with a thickness value of 1 will always be 1 pixel thick, regardless if the screen you're using is 480p or 2160p. the former takes up 1/480th of the screen, the latter a mere 1/2160th. 2160p screen have some *tiny* pixels.
if you're playing in standard 1920x1080, and they're playing something like 1280x960, then your crosshair will actually show up like 10% larger on their screen that it does on yours. (and a bit stretched horizontally of course.)
1 pixel thick crosshairs are like, really fucking popular unless you use a higher resolution screen. i really can't imagine what's going on here besides 4:3 players having terrible eyesight i guess? maybe they should play on a resolution with extra, sharper, clearer details so they don't have to strain their eyes as much :P

actually is not because of the resolution but a bug that players who spectate you dont see you crosshair. it happened to me a few times but i was playing 4:3 so idk. like this guy said, 4:3 makes crosshairs bigger so the problem it s not the resolution itself but maybe a bug with it

@@OwenMinerCS 16:9 makes it so that enemies appear to be slower on your screen, and it also allows you to see more around you, it's basically like a high FOV. but the disadvantage of 16:9 is that the player models appear quite narrow on your screen. in 4:3, you can see less around you and the enemy moves faster on your screen but the player models are such wider so it's easier to shoot them. literally every single (or almost every single) cs pro uses 4:3 because it's better.
ps: i mean imo its down to personal preference but i use 4:3 because its more comfortable for me
Pros use what they are use to, not what's better
Many pros use 400-800 dpi mice despite the benefits of higher dpi
When the difference is small, comfortable and consistent is more important for a pro player than what's better once you are use to it

It's literally 25+% of all pro players. EVERY top team is trying to have at least one player with 16:9 to spectate them and give info, it's literally a liability to not have one. I myself am a level 10 faceit player with 16:9. People who say 16:9 is bad should look into mirror.
