It's amazing how diverse even the little things are in guard. Things like taping methods really make each program special in its own way. Excellent video!
Is it bad to tape the whole handle of the sabre including the hilt? Also I wish they made a silver electrical tape because I want to make it look like there's no tape on the sabre lol! :(
politepancake hey idk if this would still help you or not but I know that bandshoppe sells mirror tape www.bandshoppe.com/shop/show-props/flag-pole-rifle-tape/mirror-tape-64301/
Im my school we only taped the back of the blade and then the balance point and the tip we never taped the catch tape or hilt and I never understood why but I guess my coach like shiny silver glare
Yeah, it's all preference! Honestly, I can't handle throwing a mini disco ball into the air lol :) (it hurts my eyes and I can't bear scratching up my sabre)
5:36 the male is my instructor!!! Kore!!( idk how to spell it) he and a girl named Katie teach the white knoll High school color guard! Along with Ariel, Courtney, and Julia!!!!! 😆 so glad to be in this sport!!!
its up to you. If you are trying to march independent winterguard or DCI, most likely they'll be spinning 39" so it would be better to get a 39" to get used the feel of it since the tape is a little farther out and the sabre overall is a little longer to spin.
Question, is the sabre 39 inches from the tip of the blade to the button on the hilt? Or is that just the length of the actual blade part of the sabre?

This helped me so much!! I was randomly handed a sabre today at practice and decided to retape it because I'm really picky about my equipment!

I only tape the belly, the spot, catch and tip.
how do you know what size sabre to get because i have a 36" rifle and i need to get a rifle so would i get a 39" or 36" sabre

Also lastly in DCI do they use 39” rifles
@@jerichojames9832 I recently took a poll from some friends marching with some of the top drum corps, some use 39" rifles, while some also use 37.5"

The first one, tip of the blade to the button on the hilt :)
