Unfortunately I really didn’t like this book but I had a lot of fun reading along with everyone so overall I’m happy I read it! Thank you for hosting this read along during a very hectic time of the year and I’m excited for future buddy reads in 2025 🎉
This book was fun and I think was a good pick for the buddy read! I did read the other possible buddy reads and I actually did not really like The Christmas Appeal because I did not like how it wrapped up. However, I did love The Christmas Guest and want to read more from Peter Swanson now, but I feel like that book would not be a book for everyone.
I don’t know if it was just me but I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first book and the ending felt quite unsatisfying to me. It feels like a stretch to me for Ernest to be able to put it all together. Even knowing what happens at the end I don’t really understand all the “clues” we get each day. And the whole cable car monologue scene felt unnecessarily dramatic and bound to put him in danger.

I didn’t know who it was until he was announced. This was a fun ride! Look forward to a new year of reading with you. 🎉

I didnt guess it at all. 🎉 I tried reading the days in number order and it still didn't help. 😂 I really need to read the other two!

I felt the same way. Too much happened in 2 or 3 days to make it believable, especially getting the toxicology report so quickly.
I agree! It seemed like a good idea that was not executed well.
