You gotta check out Mk.Gee's live version of "Are You Looking Up" that he posted to TH-cam. I believe a still from the video is where the album cover came from. The concept for the video is so minimal but it has such a great aesthetic, and Mk.Gee's playing/singing is unreal.
This is my album of the year so far and it’s getting a little slept on. Your channel came up because of the algorithm and your vibes are good bro!! Subbed
I’ve sent this album close to a dozen friends so far, knowing very well it could hit or miss for them. For those who know, when sharing music you love, it’s like telling someone you love them. I don’t expect the energy back so it’s all good if someone doesn’t feel it. BUT I get now why some people watch and listen these reaction videos. First time seeing your channel. Been playing this album constantly and this is the first time hearing someone react the same way I feel for it. Thank you! & now I need new friends. LOL
First, thank you for watching the video! Greatly appreciate it! I 100% understand what you mean, especially cause I love watching other reactions in my down time. It does feel like family when you can connect on music!
One of the best albums I've ever listened to. I was surprised at how well the album flowed and how Mk. Gee has grown over the years. Thanks for the sick video. Peace from San Diego 🤙🏼
I Remember he popped up on my recommendation, and i listened to 1 song and ignored it, but this came back to me after another artist showed me her playlist! thanks Theo Bleak👍❤️
I Want and Alexsis have been my favs, I loved How Many Miles, Are You Looking Up, You Got It, and candy i just had listened to them a lot before the albums release since they were the singles
The album "No World" by Inc. is another veeery good and underrated album you should check out. The lead singer of Inc. plays guitar for Mk.Gee now. He has also made appearances with Frank Ocean and other artists.
never watch album reactions, but after my first play through of the project i had to see if anybody felt the same way i felt about it. great album, great reaction 🎯
Came across this album randomly while high, & it changed my life front to back, I rlly resonated with the entire album fr . Appreciate the reaction bro
Agree! Felt this the first time my wife payed the album for me. Mind was blown. And Dijon, my goodness… these guys are blowing the shit wide open. So good
Happy this is getting attention. You have to check out the “music video” for Are You Looking Up… it’s better than the studio version IMO but both are fantastic
wowww fantastic vid. really glad you made sure to pay att’n to lyrics and themes while listening, really thorough of u. all of this while never ignoring how the music itself is so moving!! also your reference point for mk.gee being cz and Vegyn is craaazy bc I’m the exact same. u earned a damn sub today sir! ps. If candy hasn’t already grown on u by now, give it some more time hahah. was my early fav for sure
If you rocked with this you HAVE to listen to Absolutely by Dijon. Mk.Gee has credits all over that record and it’s phenomenal. His EP How Do You Feel About Getting Married? Is also gorgeous and probably more similar to this album. Loved the video!
@@Definitionofill92 fr I got Jai Paul’s 2019 EP and Hypothalamus by Ruthven on repeat because it’s all they got pretty much 😂 crazy to see Mk.Gee go into this Dijon/Paul sound
You have such great vibes man! Mk.gee has been my favorite artist since A Museum of Contradiction, and watching you experience this album for the first time made me feel like I was too. Subbed & looking forward to more vids🙌
Solid reaction dude! This Mk.Gee album is solid. Been waiting for the next Dijon project and he released this just in time. Going to be seeing him in May here in Seattle. Can’t wait! 🫡💪🏿🙌🏿
I really say this in the most earnest and truest way possible but you really speak the same musical language as me dude. The emotions tied to the song “I want” even after the first listen is just yeah…indescribable.
This album effected very similarly. Loved watching this! I’m new to your channel. Would love to see you react to something more contemporary like “Exist” by Brian Bulger. Alternatively in the more alternative indie rock Mk.gee vein, you might really dig “I Am All the Ages I’ve Ever Been” or the more recent singles from Hudson Freeman.
you should listen to” absolutely “ by dijon. mkgee helped produce and write almost all of those songs off the album. think you’d enjoy. loved the reaction. hyped to see more
Love Dijon and “Absolutely”, I heard it when it came out but didn’t notice Mk.gee was part of crafting that sound. But hey, I’m glad I know now 😂. Dijon reaction if he drops this year though. Thank you for watching 🙌🏾
This is the only thing I’ve listened to all of February

Yesss, might be too good 🤣
Was I the only one tearing up the first time I heard this album?
This album encompasses all the emotions
Real
I was finished by “I want”

That live version of Alesis absolutely had me in a chokehold. I love this album and I’ve listened to it so many goddamn times.
Mk.gee changed everything with this album.

One of the best albums ever and "I want " and " candy" for me same reaction beautiful
Your reaction to I Want was exactly mine
Them chords caught me off guard lol
On first listen I didn’t vibe with the album till I got to I Want and for some reason that made the whole album click
Two months in and this is album of the year for sure

It took me by surprise! Lol
i absolutely love this project and quite frankly, everything mk.gee and dijon have done

Album of the year
DNM def has some of those nice Blood Orange vibes (and therefore also hints of that Prince funk)
Love seeing more folk get hip to Mk.gee🏄🏾 Definitely bump cz, Western & dimeback if you haven’t already!
I've just found this album a couple days ago and I can't stop listening to it! I feel like it sounds like my childhood
It definitely has a lot of warmth to it

I recently discovered Mk. Gee & have listened to nothing else since.

I adore this album it feels like a 80s R&B mixed with 80s pop music great album.
