That Everton-Liverpool penalty incident reminds me of Chelsea v Real Madrid, and ref gave a pen for sth that happened almost a yard outside the box. The ruled out a perfect Chelsea winner. Really stung.

Hello Fara and Anita. Always good to hear your analysis of what I have watched at the weekend. The VAR light was trialed at women's U17 World Cup, but it needs stadia better than some of the women's teams usually play at, especially in the championship. I was surprised the NWSLquarter finals in US did not fill stadia, but a other commenter pointed out they had opened more capacity and had actually record crowds. Basically the sentiment was to keep it real, not judge on what you wish for. Chelsea have had good videos to build fan base this last couple of seasons.
P.S. I remember almost bumping into an Arsenal junior women's team milling around in a service station, as if a school team with no money. This explained why that was.

Chelsea were the better team and they deserve to win the game hands down. Because City are playing the ball round without any creativity but Chelsea created so many chances but couldn't score. Chelsea should have beaten them by 5 goals

Aw I wish they had talked about actual numbers with the salary conversation. Would have loved to know their salaries throughout their careers. Even what players in WSL lower teams are earning. It’s potentially worse in other leagues also (Spanish League?). Worthy conversation

Chelsea wanted it more. You could tell on the day. They won every 50/50 and took their chances. Ramirez a legend in the making, Guro Reiten, JRK and Cuthbert all excellent and the new signings like Baltimore have been brilliant. That win, with Kerr James Buchanan etc to come back is scary

People should stop making excuses for City, they said last season they lost the league cos Shaw was injured coming to End of the season, now some are saying they lose this game cos Hemp was missing.. Chelsea lost lot of Big names to Injury last season. This season we lost LJ, Ingle,, KB, Macario is not fully fit yet Sam and Mia Fishel are still out . The matter is Chelsea is nor match to the rest of the WSL teams.

I don’t think city were that much responsible for our defeat. Pere Romeu the Barcelona coach played 4 midfielders a line up that has never worked for us because of the names. He a LW in Pina on the bench and opted to play Alexia there instead. It unbalanced the team because Alexia isn’t a threat at LW. She kept inverting into midfield and crowded and we had no threat on the left side coupled with the fact that the manager played that same lineup the week earlier against Sevilla and we scraped a 1-0 victory scoring in the 80th minute of the game. Ever since then the manager hasn’t played that formation to start games only towards the end of games to see it off and even then we start loosing control of games. Barcelona is weak now atm only because manager is more concerned about the names on the back of shirt rather than play players where they meant to be played to optimize the team and it’s been clear for all to see

Ironic that the potential winnings for the women’s champions league game was greater than the men would get for the reindeer cup game, both probably sell out. So it must be down to media money - perhaps media payouts need levelling out

With the success of the new men’s champion league format, I wonder if the men’s and women’s premier/super and championship leagues shouldn’t be merged into a one club swiss system league with both men’s and women’s team games contributing to the overall club’s points total. That would force clubs to invest equally if they want to be successful. Clubs with only one team club declare an affiliation with another one team club.

Women's football cannot realize pay parity with men's football because it does not generate as much revenue. But women's football is growing, and women football players will get there. Like if you can fill a 20 thousand stadium, your sponsorship deals don't fetch as much, then you cannot be paid much. This conversation is tied to the whole sustainability issue. Also remember the WSL is now a distinct entity from the EPL, and Chelsea Women is now separate from the men's team (legally speaking). So women's football players earn less because their employers make less.

NWSL and Liga MX Femille teams play in big main stadia, have semi automated offside, Hawkeye and VAR. In fact the AFC have announced the AFC Women’s Champions League will have the same. So surely the WSL and Championship can have it too. Perhaps if the clubs stop spending billions of pounds on the men (obscene transfer fees and salaries), the women might just be able to have the basics.

Chelsea have a big squad to play so I don’t think any Team will get the trophy away from them any time soon
I believe Chelsea will win WSL every year because they’re unstoppable with the Squad they have no one will get close to them ok
Emma Hayes has built a Team that will dominate WSL for another 10 years and now Bompastor ( new manager ) will have a big and talented squad ready to win trophies 🏆 🥇 and same thing very soon will happen with Men’s Team and both will dominate WSL & PREMIER LEAGUE 👍
