This is such a beautiful song. I remember talking to my mom as she laid there. Not a motion not a sound. Just me and her at 4:00 am Monday morning. I stood there making promises to her I wished and hoped to keep as my life was going to continue and knowing that would be the last time I make those promises to her. I stood there saying all that I wanted to say to her wishing I could have said it when she was alive. This song is a constant reminder of that moment. To everyone, please cherish every moment with your loved ones. When the time comes for you to dress them, the feeling is unbearable. Maa Vue please continue with the great work you do. I love my mom dearly, but as much as I love my mom, my love for my mom will never match the love that my grandmother gave to my mom. My grandmother had passed away roughly 13 years ago. The last time my mom saw my grandmother was about 23-25 years ago when my parents came over to the U.S. I will never forget the tears that my mom shed when she heard the news, I will never forget that day. It's been three years since my mom passed away. This song was used in her slide show. This song reminds me of her love and yet reminds me of the emptiness she left in my heart . But an interesting thing I would like to share too is that it is intentional to sound similar to "nyiav" as in when Hmong people lament/mourn at funerals. It's a play on words for people to see the double meaning in this song. But moving forward, I will do my best to enunciate the word for clearer meaning. I'm glad you enjoyed it though! :)
