My wife is the master mind behind the creativity. I am the lighting guy that makes sure it all lights up when we plug it in! Together we do OK but she deserves most of the credit.

We live in one town and I pastor in another town so we put things in the upper village to remind us of one of the towns - and the lower village of the other town. It's a fun project each year. We rearrange them each year and switch things around based on the wife's creativity. So each year is a little different.

@@lilyofthevalley17 I started out villaging many years ago - was given a set of four buildings in 1994. The next year I was given a second set of four buildings and added a train station and log cabin. Literally for years that was my village. Basically set it up on an 8 foot table and it was a festive part of the Christmas celebration. My daughter loved setting it up each year. I remarried in 2016 and my wife has this crazy creative side that is wonderful. When we moved here to Kansas we were empty nesters and had space in the house. And the villaging took off! We have a lot of fun with it. Each year once it is set up we invite the church family over for an evening to share the village with and we do a quiz about how to find various things in the village. The kids enjoy that and we give out prizes for those who find the most things.
We would love to see pictures of your village this Christmas - it is fun to set up no matter if you have 13 pieces or 75 like ourselves. Have a blessed day - its been fun to share the conversation with you.
