It actually INSANE what the devs of this game were able to accomplish with the LITTLE time they had. Cause as we can see the game is CLEARLY unfinished😭 BUT they prioritised GAMEPLAY over Plot so now its considered as one of the BEST combat experiences in game history
Just IMAGINE what they would have done with just a LITTLE more time🔥🔥🔥. The sequel was gonna gave Carnage and Mysterio as villains and even Wolverine was gonna return. The Mysterio concept design was shipped over to Shattered Dimensions though so we still got a HEAT game in the end from the cancellation🙏😂💯

The combat is not that good tbh, I prefer the new combat system of Marvel Spider-Man, still needs some improvement but overall is much more fun than all other spiderman games in my opinion. Because its based on Arkham gameplay that is for sure one of the best and most fun combat systems in video games. This was the first spiderman game that I played, and as a kid I loved it, but now that I am older I see that is not that good, its an alright game, they have some good ideas but the combat is clunky, story its a big mess overall, web swing is not that great shooting webs on the sky too lol, the graphics even when it released were mid. Overall is an ok game. I see you and other people nowadays that are overhyping this game a lot saying that is better than Spiderman ps4, slow down bro it is not. One of them was a Goty cotender a game with 87 metacritic score, the other one was an okay game with 70 something metacric score. Not even comparable, of course there are some good ideas in this game that Insomniac could use in the newer games, but the quality of the Spider-Man games is not even comparable from when Activision was the publisher and now that Playstation is the publisher, they jumped from AA games to AAA games.

@@telmocarvalho3305 Woah woah woah. Spider-Man PS4 combat...is some of the DRYEST combat of ANY Spidey game😭. Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time are better and even the combat in Tasm 1 and 2 LOOK better.
The fact that its based on Arkham IS the problem. Its TOO GROUNDED for a SPIDERMAN game to the point I feel like extra strenght BATMAN than Spider-Man😂. The reason SMPS4 gets so much praise is cause it was a more well rounded package. Good graphics, decent story, smooth combat.
But if we pick apart each piece besdies graphics there are spidey games with BETTER story and combat. I mean shattered dimensions alone has, grabs, and the dodge mechanics have basic dodge, dodge stance AND counters, theres also HEAVY AND Light attacks on top of implementing the continuous web zip mechanic from Web of Shadows

I agree. My only issues with it are Spidey's VA and the fact that it has the easiest final boss of any Spidey game imo.

@@Nygassso I'm pretty sure there was free roam, the only way you could get the iron spider suit was to collect the collectables which required free roam

Once you get to the venom boss fight the ending is chosen for you, depending on your ratio of choosing red vs black choices throughout the story
You probably know this already but it chooses your decision at the end based on how many times you picked good or evil. You picked good more than evil in your playthrough.
No it was only if u picked them at certain points, mainly black cat stuff. Wolverine one as well
It really doesn’t. I did a playthrough where every choice was a hero choice, but when I picked the dark choice after defeating Symbiote Black Cat, I got the dark ending.
It tallies up your red suit and black suit choices to determine whether you'll get a good or evil ending, then it just comes down to whether you choose black cat or not after defeating her symbiote.
Amazing that from the thumbnail I could tell the video was about to be about Web of Shadows.
i remember getting the bad ending the first time,
and it made feel devastated cause i wanted the good ending.
at the time i was a kid so i didn't know how that system works
plus it was on the wii too, played with the remote and nunchuck (so that was a struggle lol,
on the bright side they had alternate suits compared to the other ports lol)
Yeah honestly the only thing holding the Wii version to be my favorite version it's those damn controls and having to flip your wrist/control just to web swing

@@dylandavid9991 yup, i still remember that the web strike magically worked and i was able to progress in the game and remember never used it again because I didn't know how it worked lol
The best one in the game is the fighting combo of the black suit it looks really dope when he swing those knife tentacle and doing a flip while holding it, and then there's also the tendril slam when you pull the enemy with the circle button and then you press square on the controller
9:30 Here depending on which side you chose more, if you chose more the heroic options, spiderman will activate the weapon, if you chose more the villain options, spiderman will destroy the machine

When I first got my ending for this Spiderman game, I LOVED IT. It made me wanna replay it again to see what else would've happened. (I chose all bad decisions from beginning to end)
Tbh, your ending seems the most realistic, Peter never realizing what the symbiote is doing to him and let’s not forget black cat’s temptations
Personally, I find that the story didn't have to be complex here. It's a classic Spider-Man vs Venom story that has its own weight to carry. The characters and even the choices made make it stand out immensely among the pantheon of comic book and especially Spider-Man games.
Yeah there's definitely been moments where Venom showed up with multiple heads in the comics. I don't know if its happened since the 90s though.
Ultimate Spider-Man comics are really good you should read them they Happen in another universe where Peter get his power in a Younger age
Hey Curlynaps, I love Spider-Man and his comics. I had no clue what you were talking about when you listed the comics you found. I thought I might as well give you a recommendation for what you could read. I think you should read Ultimate Spider-Man. It is sort of like a reboot of the main spiderman comic series. It is the best introduction to Spider-Man comics, and is still my favorite series. I will say that finding some of the physical volumes does tend to get pricey, but you could always find them digitally. Anyways, love the videos.

5:45 And there we have the only hero-dark decision that actually does anything. I’ve played this over and over, and every other decision is only surface dressing. You can make every other choice a hero choice and if you go dark here, you get the dark ending. Make all dark choices everywhere else and choose hero here, and you get the hero ending.
And while that is a little bit of a criticism, it only becomes apparent when you’ve played over and over. And it was fun the whole time every time.

Nah, a good spider man game consists of open world including swinging and combat. Web of Shadows has open world traversal, not to mention you can swing fast as hell, the combat depth in this game far exceeds Shattered Dimensions, and it covers a pretty good "what if" story in a dark atmosphere. Shattered dimensions doesn't have any of that. The Spider-Verse aspect in it is great but it's pretty much a simple beat em up compared to this game

I don’t think Venom should be this much of a threat. He’s like an Avengers level threat in this game. I think Venom is better suited as a personal villain for Spidey.
This game was like the basis for the over saturation of Venom in the new Spider-Man cartoons.
Venom is actually OP. I think this is based on a couple stories from the older comics. Venom brings in a symbiote Invasion and Carnage consumes a bunhc of symbiotes to become this GIANT sized version of himself
