I have seen that match of aMSa winning his first major like 100 times and every single time I get goosebump during that last stock. It's so emotional and Toph saying "aMSa did it" always gets me. But I think my favorite match of this whole video is super smash con 2018, such a rollercoaster, narration was great and it also has a lot of meaning in the lore of melee. It literally was the end of an era. Great compilation, thanks for all the work you put in this channel.
I understand the significance of the FT10, but I would definitely give 2023 to zain jmook at collision. seeing jmook win the tournament from losers fresh off a genesis win from winners was insane, and there was uncertainty if he would repeat his dominance at genesis, while the cody zain FT10 was a very expected cody victory.
It goes to show what a monster of a player Armada is that everytime Armada got beaten, is almost automatically considered the set of the year in this list. I always had such enormous amount of respect for Armada to be able to be at the top of the ladder while having to compete constantly in the most hostile (pro-USA player) environments, rarely getting the crowd behind you. It makes his wins even more impressive. Summit 11 with the shine and Zain not being able to air jump is so heartbreaking and clutch at the same time.
I think Hbox Cody WS at Collision was a better set than Aklo moky. That game 1 was probably the biggest momentum switch up in years and the entire set, especially the last game just presented both players showcasing their individiual greatness (Cody's grinded matchup optimization vs. Hbox's experienced game sense). Maybe i'm biased but it was a lot more exciting to see Hbox play out of his mind against a wall like Cody as the celebrated underdog, than a good Fox ditto between two equals, that only stood out so much because of the butterfinger game 5 ending and the great popoff afterwards.
The shine->firefox stall to get the easier ledge dash from Armada in APEX 2015 to lose the set is one of the most boneheaded plays I’ve ever seen armada make for someone who was so cold and calculated when he played
