Great video. Very nice of you to take the time out to share this useful information. No crappy jazz music in the background, just to the point with illustration for each setting.
Thanks for taking the time to show and tell WHERE in the settings all of these changes take place. I have seen a few others who have either had the wrong labels on the settings or just assumed we all knew exactly where these individual settings are located.
Great video on settings not explained by the DJI manual. I'd learned most of these with Inspire, but it took some experimentation. You've done the work for viewers. A must watch for those new to the bird!
Excited to try and play with these settings on my Mavic. Some of my biggest complaints were addressed in this video. Super informative, good pace, and great explanations for a novice like me. Thanks!
Great video thanks! I learned a lot on video settings. I didn't know what some did at all. I have watched a bunch of mavic videos put none like this. All others are the same old thing over and over. Thanks again good job.
Thanks for watching. I know about the same old thing. I would do more, but I can't always do the same old thing and think I will make the difference ;)
Great video!! I was trying to find out why the gimbal is moving left and right with left stick input and you totally answered my question, plus I leaned a lot more about other settings. Thanx man!!
I knocked my yaw expo down to .10. Its tripod slow and gives me great results. My rudder right/forward expo is @ .15 I put my up/down expo @ .20 It handles like a slug at high speeds and feels super heavy but man is my video SMOOTH!! Out of the box from the factory it handles like an epileptic robot having a seizure. Really jerky and and the gimbal jumps to the roll inputs and jerks to a stop. If you haven't tried the expo adjustments I highly recommend that you try it. Great tutorial sir!!👍
About the Gimbal Pan Synchronous Follow. Do you mind making a short video of the difference while the quad is hovering. I can see the difference on the ground but not while airborne. While in the air the gimbal behaves exactly the same for me, no matter if the setting is on or off.
Great job with your explanation of these settings. I was like you and did not expect the yaw rate to be so high as compared to my P3P. I'm sure this will improve my photography using the Mavic Pro.
thanks for this video. really informative. I've come back to watch it again and to save for reference when I finally receive my Mavic pro. Was a little slow on pulling the purchase trigger (17 Oct) and so I have a little longer to wait. But I know it's gonna be worth it. Trying to get my brother to get one as well.
Perfect vid. thank you very much SUPER informative!!! Keep it up! a really superb insight at the Mavic. (seen enough unboxing and first impressions video than deal with, THIS was really worth it) #waiting4it
Sir, Thank you, thank you for your video on Fine Tuning the Mavica Pro. I have been searching for a variety of solutions and your presentation answered all my queries. Yes I had to back and forward a bit and pause. I am not 100% yet of changing the options but managed to crack it. I think my EV is out at -2 but a run am hopefully should sort this out. I am in the UK and the weather to say the least is a bit changeable ! One guy mentioned that he was old enough to remember Maverick. Me John Wayne in Stagecoach. Brian.
Thanks. Remember is the EV is about exposure and trying to best balance the higs and lows, since there is limited adjustments for this on the camera. That is why ND filters really help on the sunny days.
another thought... When you say the EV is out, I hope you are considering the actual video, vs the ''controller view, which could appear to be way off due to lighting conditions. If you find the EV is constantly off... I would call (email) support. Seems problematic and not something I would live with.
ok i see how its a smooth yaw, but how do you get the yaw not to be jerky and a sudden stop when you get your hands off of the sticks? what i mean is i want the yaw to follow through when you stop the yaw and not come to a sudden stop which makes it jerky and a sudden stop.kind of like the gimble up and down start stop buffer it follows through like a delay and then it stops. i hope im explaining this right. lol. thanks for any info
Videos like these are going to help those people (like me) impatiently waiting for their Mavics to arrive to become more familiar with the bird and how to control it in advance, rather than launching them without thinking about these important settings. Worst thing about the (often otherwise beautiful) videos from Mavic owners is the distractingly excessive panning speed. One thing which would be useful would be a summary of your preferred settings in the description and for future videos, at the start of the video for those people who want to return later and grab the settings quickly. Thanks.
What tablet would you recommend? With GPS?with Cellular? Or neither. Thanks for any help. I'm a beginner and 72yrs old. LOL. Need all the help I can get!
hey im getting these connection problems when im flying, when im looking at my phone, the picture gets messed up and distorted as if im losing connection.. also, ive had issues flying far after about less than half a kilometer away, i start to lose vision feed on my phone, which is really scary.. yet ive seen people on youtube videos fly their mavics miles away from them, and have no vision connection problems.. is there something wrong with my drone or am I doing something wrong? any feedback on those things is much much appreciated, the customer service at DJI is not the best and I dont want to mail my drone back because of these things that i hope are fixable.. only thought i had was my Samsung galaxy S5 is not a good phone for this? not sure.. but I cant get a new phone right now..
Great Video, very helpfull. Regarding the gimbal tilt limit, when 30 degrees extensible is on, you will probably have more interference with the propellers. did you try it?
HI GREAT VIDEO AND WORKS GREAT .. 1 THING .. I NOTICE U HAVE ON YOUR REMOTE SCREEN IT SAYS SD CARD 4K 30 .. HOW DO I GET THIS SETTING AS MINE DOES NOT .. OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING? THX
+Nick Doran - Thanks for the comments. I am running Android and using the 3.1.0 version of the Go App. There is no settings that I know of to turn that on or off. You can swipe swipe the entire screen right to remove most all data, so you can better frame the shot... swipe right again to have the data appear.
I am new to editing. Just watched your comments and video on the Mavic Pro. What software are you using to "colour grade" the video. If you at using the software provided, how do you colour grade. Also, do you use the same settings for photos on the Mavic?
Hi, now I didn't watch the entire video. But I have a question. I set the rudder YAW to 0.1 in sport mode but I still feel that yaw movements are way to aggressive in sport mode. And it ruins the shot when flying fast and a sudden yaw movement destroys the video. Do you also have a problem with slowing down yaw exp, gain etc in sport mode or is it just my machine? Cheers!
Good question. I'll have to give that a try. I don't shoot in sport mode. I often shoot in standard flight speed and then double my speed in post.
8 ปีที่แล้ว
sportbikes I see, but I use sport mode when chasing cars or someone moving fast. It also helps if there is windy then sport mode gives you "normal speed" up against the wind.
Ran into that similar issue with boat masts. I found that with my photography background I was looking for the sharpest image, and used +1 sharpness at times. For a more cinematic approach, you need to go the oppsite direction. A minus 1 sharpness will help, maybe a minus 2 if you are in tight with a lot of trees without leaves. I then will use a video denoise filter and a low setting, too. If you look at a still frame, it will be much softer than you would want in a photograph, but will produce a better feel for the motion... more cinematic. Happy flying!
That is the setting I was speaking of - Gimbal Pan Synchronous. It is a small amount of movement left and right that will soften the movement of the quad as it spins via the rudder movement. Hence, it is what the gimbal is intended to do. Sometimes yo may want to turn some of this off, which would give a much harsher effect on the video... of course for a specific type of effect... same as locking the Gimbal into an FPV mode.
Actually turning this on has the opposite effect once you have tuned yaw to be smooth as it introduces more of a robotic start stop to the gimbal. Keep it turned off. Try it in the air and you will see.
Pity that you don't speak about camera settings: I noticed that your camera settings are not ( am I wrong?) on automatic, but you've choosen a manual setting about iso and shutter speed..I'm very confused about that and I'm afraid that going out of automatic, my exposures will be wrong....I highly reccommend a video made by you on camera settings! Thanks again for the video!

Really good video. I don't even own one yet but I'll be following a lot of this advice when I get mine. I'm seeing way too many videos with jerky and fast pans and movements that detract from otherwise beautiful footage.
Thanks for watching. I know you'll be happy with the results of this very portable drone. It is not meant to replace an Inspire... but for most of us, this will work perfectly!
Thanks for watching. No R in mavic... this I do know. I just can't pronounce it as well as I should, since I'm old, from New Jersey and remember a western TV show with named Maverick - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maverick_(TV_series)
Ha, I wish. That picture was taken at a Richard Petty Driving Experience in AT. The only other racing I get to do is online via iRacing.com :-) Am currently awaiting the arrival of my first drone, can't wait to use some of your tips.
The best explanation of settings I've heard so far.
Great video. Very nice of you to take the time out to share this useful information. No crappy jazz music in the background, just to the point with illustration for each setting.
Finally someone who can explain this to me in normal terms. Awesome thanks.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for taking the time to show and tell WHERE in the settings all of these changes take place. I have seen a few others who have either had the wrong labels on the settings or just assumed we all knew exactly where these individual settings are located.
Thanks!
Thank you! By far the best (most comprehensive, well explained) video I've seen on gimbal settings for the Mavic Pro. Well Done!!
Great video on settings not explained by the DJI manual. I'd learned most of these with Inspire, but it took some experimentation. You've done the work for viewers. A must watch for those new to the bird!
Thanks! Fine tuning will be based on each pilot, but these tips do point you in the right direction ;)
Cool information. Will use some of these settings on my new Mavic!!! Thanks
Great video, good to see somebody mapping out the settings to get the most out of the Mavic !
Thanks! I will share others as i dig further.
Best video I have seen on DJI to date. Thank you. I was having a hard time finding my place with the camera. Now I know why
Excited to try and play with these settings on my Mavic. Some of my biggest complaints were addressed in this video. Super informative, good pace, and great explanations for a novice like me. Thanks!
"Super informative, good pace, and great explanations" -- Yep!
Thank you very much for this very informative video! Brings new joy for an old toy! Will try out these settings during the summer. 😃
Great video thanks! I learned a lot on video settings. I didn't know what some did at all.

One of the best videos, if not the best and i have seen a few.
very informative, i wonder if you have any suggestions for optimal control settings for indoor flying
Thank you for this great video. Now I am even more anxious to get mine and tune these settings. We pre-ordered ours last night!
Thanks for watching. I hope you get yours quickly ;) I know you will enjoy it when you do!
Very informative. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
Great video on settings. I totally followed your advice and am sure I will now have much smoother video.
fantastic video mate, awaiting my Mavic Pro, but Wow You taught me loads there Cheers, Geoff in the UK
The best video on Mavic settings, thank you
"The best video on Mavic settings, thank you" -- Ditto!

Could you tell me why you like EXP settings 25-20-25 not 20-20-20?
Great advice. My Yuneec Q500 had a silky smooth gimbal which made for very professional shots. I hope I can tune my Mavic to get a similar style.
Great job with your explanation of these settings. I was like you and did not expect the yaw rate to be so high as compared to my P3P. I'm sure this will improve my photography using the Mavic Pro.
thanks... Happy flying
thanks for the very useful tips. very comprehensive. well explained
Great video! Just starting out and it helped a lot to understand the purpose of some of the settings.
Great explanations, Great illustrations. Thank you much!
Excellent video! Thanks for taking the time and effort to make it! Much appreciated.
Well done video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
nice job looking forward to testing these new settings out
Just the how to i was looking for. Thanks mate
thanks for this video. really informative. I've come back to watch it again and to save for reference when I finally receive my Mavic pro. Glad to help

+Ramon Perez - thanks! I know it changed the way we 'film' and I hope it does the same for you.

Excellent Video. Still waiting for my Mavic.
Sorry, I just saw the bike, it`s a beuty. Which bike is it?
Good detail. What program did you use for screen recording?

Much appreciated, thank you.
Great tutorial very clear and well presented thanks
Excellent video. I noticed icons display on your phone are different from mine. I m using an iPhone. Maybe my Mavic firmware is not updated.
They were different on mine also. I believe DJI changed the format of the icons in a firmware update.
I don't see any gimbal speed/tilt/pan settings in the current DJI Go 4 version. What version are you reviewing?
Maybe you didn't scroll. I wasn't seeing the setting at first either.
Gimbal wheel speed is no longer an option in the app. Is that the same as gimbal pitch EXP?
Does P4 have the speed reductions for gimbal and yaw?
I would like to slow the yaw down a little on the XSP.... Nice video
Yes, I was expecting Autel to be following up with more updates... but still love the machine.
I make setting but they keep changing when i go to another screen. ?????????? how do I keep those setting on my Ipad ?
What tablet would you recommend? With GPS?with Cellular? Or neither. Thanks for any help. I'm a beginner and 72yrs old. LOL. Need all the help I can get!
Great video, will try how you have it set up!
very good instructional video. thanks for sharing.
hey im getting these connection problems when im flying, when im looking at my phone, the picture gets messed up and distorted as if im losing connection..
also, ive had issues flying far after about less than half a kilometer away, i start to lose vision feed on my phone, which is really scary.. yet ive seen people on youtube videos fly their mavics miles away from them, and have no vision connection problems.. is there something wrong with my drone or am I doing something wrong?
any feedback on those things is much much appreciated, the customer service at DJI is not the best and I dont want to mail my drone back because of these things that i hope are fixable..
only thought i had was my Samsung galaxy S5 is not a good phone for this? not sure.. but I cant get a new phone right now..
This was awesome. Thanks for the tutorial it was very helpful.
Glad it helped.
hey man whats up :) you mentioned you are using v10 as your mobile device .
do you have any bad exprience with the smartphone?
Great Video, very helpfull. Regarding the gimbal tilt limit, when 30 degrees extensible is on, you will probably have more interference with the propellers. did you try it?
Yes, in forward flight you will get more prop image in extensible, but I like it. Slower forward movement will still keep them out of sight.
Will it affect the Smart Modes?
HI GREAT VIDEO AND WORKS GREAT .. 1 THING .. I NOTICE U HAVE ON YOUR REMOTE SCREEN IT SAYS SD CARD 4K 30 ..
HOW DO I GET THIS SETTING AS MINE DOES NOT ..
OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

thanks! awesome video, i learned a lot, it will definitely help me when my mavic arrives!
You can use the Touchscreen to move gimble.
Smart Gagdets Technology Had my mavic for 3 days now. Did not know how to move my gimbal. Beginner
I am new to editing. Just watched your comments and video on the Mavic Pro. What software are you using to "colour grade" the video. If you at using the software provided, how do you colour grade. Also, do you use the same settings for photos on the Mavic?
I find that Cyberlink PhotoDirector 9 is awesome for editing and you can purchase it outright rather than pay a monthly subscription fee.
hey , any one know how to make the dial work on the left of the controller , mine does not work at all ,
thanks for these! I too feel don't like the feel as it too quick.
Great video, Great teacher

Thanks for watching, and happy it helped. Get some great flights!
Yes, a lot of instructions. I've been wondering what was going on with that red line. Thank you.
My dad and brother and I have Mavics and we seem to be having a lot of moire and some aliasing with trees can you help explain how we can avoid that?

sportbikes thanks for the info! We will try that and in fact I adjusted my Mavic pro with your setting recommendation and it helped a lot!
Beautiful tutorial. Thank you.
Thanks for the cool video Mavric

hi There ! you should't disable sport mode. I had a situation with high wind on return home and sport mode saved me. thanks for the info. Great video!
Great video! I remember Maverick too ;)
Excellent video - thanks for sharing
thanks for watching
Thank u a lot for such beautiful and useful video
Thanks!
thanks for sharing, i find it really useful, thanks again.
well done and very useful
I was looking for that ! thanx !
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Mine yaw movement speed is at 0.15 already and I still think it's too fast
Thanks for this helpful vid.
excellent video...thanks...btw, there's no 'r' in mavic ;)
Thanks for watching. No R in mavic... this I do know. I just can't pronounce it as well as I should, since I'm old, from New Jersey and remember a western TV show with named Maverick - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maverick_(TV_series)
no worries. i'm old enough to remember Maverick too ;)
You control the menu by clicking your fingers!!? :)
Very good information, thank you for sharing.
Ed, Thanks for watching. Do you race? I was getting to the track monthly, but the last few months, I have been working like crazy! I miss it.
Ha, I wish. That picture was taken at a Richard Petty Driving Experience in AT. The only other racing I get to do is online via iRacing.com :-) Am currently awaiting the arrival of my first drone, can't wait to use some of your tips.

All great tips...
Great vid.
Thank you great Info
Maverick??? Come on boss!
It's ok, he has only been using it a week!!! FFS! lol
Do you even Mav bro?
320type You're an idiot so we made a mistake big-deal he gave us lots of information
i loved it... thank you !!!!!!!!
Very helpful!
DJI "Maverick" Pro, haha. :) Honest mistake. Good video buddy.
Great. Thank you a lot.
very good video but audio is very low
