My first experience working ground was with a 7140 ........absolutely loved running that tractor!

That tractor is a thing of beauty and a beast of a workhorse.....id say the best modern front assist of its time and several years over its predecessor mx's!

The 8900 series are the pinnacle of the first generation Magnum design.

I retired from farming this year and actually kept my favorite 7220 Magnum and a blade just in case I get snowed in. We also had a newer MX Magnum, a 7110, and a 5140 Maxxum. I feel the reliability of those tractors was one reason we succeeded.

The 7220 is one of my favorite tractors. The Box Car Magnums are the Modern Day Farmall M. Built to last.

Great video Jason. That 8950 sure sounds healthy!! Pretty cool towards the end of the video with him coming at you planting and the Deere in the background working ground!!

It is always fun to show another tractor working in the distance or rolling down the road in the background. It happens more often than I can show because unfortunately the machines to do not line up at the same time.

Our 1998 8920 has had so few issues that we were blown away by the Magnum 285 we bought later...when a company has an arm rest controller "swap out program" you know that things at Case were starting to go sideways...yet after doing the necessary updates, it has been a very reliable tractor similar to the best Magnum 89xx. And after a good polish, they look great in the town parade.

I always thought those planters were unique but I didn't know till this video that CASE IH referred to their planters as "Early Riser" as they have kept that name for all these years. Very cool. Thanks Jason👍🏻😁

Sold my 7140 with just over 14,000hrs. Never touched the engine, transmission or hydraulics. Just regular maintenance. It was by far the cheapest tractor to maintain I’ve ever owned.

We have several magnums, none under 10000hrs. One over 20k. Did motor in it at 15k. Have never touched a tranny on any of them. My friend owns the AGRI parts business in Irma. Wears John Deere underwear but admits the magnums are the toughest tractors ever built. No sweeter sound than that 8.3 pulling!😇

It’s funny the 8950 is an awesome tractor today but in 1997 it was looking very dated compared to the John Deere 8400 and New Holland Genesis 8970. Every one eager for the big MX270.

Boxcar magnums 71-89 series are some tough tractors. Most in my area were hotter than listed hp. Long as you can keep the exhaust temp lower I've seen them dyno as high as 290hp pulling strip till planter combos and ripper bedders. Great video btp!!
