I had a 2001 330Ci. There was a steering rack upgrade from BMW that changed the weight of the steering feel. Awesome free upgrade.

Thanks for the video! I wanted to say first that it looks like some of your oil pan bolts don't appear to be fully torqued up at the time of filming this; see a freeze frame @07:45. It looks like there's clearance (Clarence!) between the bolt head flange and the pan. I don't know if you've gone back since, but that might be worth checking, assuming it's not my eyes playing tricks on me...
I replaced my front control arm bushings for the first time about 2 weeks ago. It took a lot of effort and hammering to get the first one off the control arm, so I did a bit of digging around on the E46Fanatics forum and found a method that worked for me in about 30 seconds with the second one. I put one of the 16mm FCAB bolts back into the thread and used a big (square section) pry bar with the bar end levering against that bolt and the middle of the bar pushing against the FCAB. It took some force to push against it, but it slid off so much more easily using that method. 10/10, would definitely do that way again :) The steering was massively improved after the change. The old ones were very sloppy, and the steering used to wander a lot when going over the slightest bump in the road.
Thanks again for taking the time to make this video, and the others on your channel. They are very useful to an E46 home mechanic like me :)

    Love the BMW 330CI.
Would love your opinion on the different steering components from BMW and how they feel. Thanks!!

Yeah, definitely remove the exhaust cam Vanos solenoid and give it a shake (likely stuck) and clean it out good with brake cleaner and see if that helps. I had the same P0014 code on a Dr. Vanos unit with "new" aftermarket solenoids. I ended up cleaning my original BMW vexhaust cam solenoid and reinstalling to fix.. Otherwise, no cat codes or torque converter codes for that mileage?
