The honored Life Guard stands founded by our country's father, 500 year long dedicated service. From the March across the Belts, the battle at Lund, to the fields of Narva, they follow in the footsteps of heroes.
Forged in fire and Dalecarlian blood, frozen ground and heroism, in a time of war they rose.
Descended from only 16 men, the Kingdom's oldest military unit. A time of war.
Wherever the road may lead, the guard swears to protect they devote their life to king and kingdom.
Shoulder to shoulder the life guard marches, fought for our country's father 500 year long dedicated service. From the March across the Belts, the battle at Lund, to the fields of Narva, they follow in the footsteps of heroes.
Irrespective of who wears the crown, they swear fidelity to the king in a time of peace they persist.
Traditions from ages past, still guarding the door of power in peace and in battle.
Wherever the road may lead, the guard stands around our king, they sacrifice their lives for country and kingdom.

if he can then he should also react to '' never lie'' by Reinxeed , tommys old band & that song is where the riff of ''a ghost in the trenches'' comes from
The Swedish Livgardet was formed in January1521 to bee the life guard to the king Gustaf Wasa. They where only 16 men. All from the region of Dalecarlia (Dalarna) in Sweden. They work directly for the King. That is the place where Sabaton comes from. And that is the place where I live. Dalarna. The song is actually based from a Swedish psalm (Härlig är jorden). It is belived to origin from the 1200 century. First documented in the 1800 by a Danish composer. Just some fun facts.
Soldier of Three Armies, White Death and Talvisota. Those three songs tell story of Swedens great neighbour and their great soldiers, who fought for freedom of both countries in WW2 ;)
They recorded the music video about 20 minutes from where I live in a place called "Garpenbergs slott" :) The local school has its annual prom there every year, so I have been there several times. It's a beautiful place, especially in the summer. Falun which is the home town of Sabaton is about 45 minutes from where I live. Every year I go to Sabaton Open Air and see the live, except 2020 :(
Hey heath love all your reactions, you should react to wolf pack by sabaton dirty heavy guitar. A wolf pack is what they used to call a groupe of u.boats in ww2
The melody of the song was first written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben who also wrote the natioanl anthem of Germany. In Sweden the melody is known from the church psalm Härlig är jorden, which comes from Denmark and is a song for the pilgrims. When I was in High School in Sweden Härlig är jorden was our school song/psalm. And one of the music teachers composed and wrote another song based on the same melody that the whole school sang on special occasions.
Interesting fact about the infantry regiment I 13 in Falun (in Sabatons home town). In this regiment (there I did my military service as well) we had a very special way of taking orders (the only regiment in Sweden doing this). Instead of saying ”Yes captain” (or whatever officers rank) we always answered ”shall be done captain”, this also go back several hundred years back in history! Note: Livgardet is not the same regiment as I 13 in Falun! (More to explain the mentality of the people living in Dalarna) 💪💪 Why Gustav Vasa recruited men from Dalarna: at that time Gustav Eriksson (Eriksson was his original surname) fled away from the danish (and swedish pro danish) soldiers, and at that time it was forbidden for farmers in Sweden to have weapons at home. But Gustav Eriksson (Vasa) knew that the farmers in Dalarna gave a f**k in that law, because people in Dalarna are known to be stubborn and proud people so they did as they wanted themselves anyway. So he fled to Dalarna to seek shelter and support among the locals in Dalarna to fight back the danish and pro danish soldiers and I think it was at that point the first 16 men of his royal guard was recruited 😊 You should also dig into the Battle of Narva (mentioned in the text) its considered to be the greatest victory in Swedish history!
One of the most humiliating situations ever was ciciting the officers mess at I1 and seeing all these captured battle flags. Complete with bullet holes, blood and everything left behind.
Man when Joakim sings before the guitar solo, it always get me. Epica also released their new album yesterday. React to their new songs, Abyss of Time, Rivers, Wolves, they also released a new video yesterday but I don't remember which song.
Hehe. Pär looks so angry about them spilling the wine over the map. Also, "För Sverige i tiden." "For Sweden trough time." is the motto of the current Swedish king. Also, they sing about "Strid vid Lund" the battle at the Swedish town of Lund in 1676. I saw these guys live for the first time in that town! As always my dude, you rock!
you should have watched to the end when they list the actors. Exactly like this Joakim Brodén - Leading Actor 1 Pär Sundström - Leading Actor 2 Chris Rörland - Leading Actor 3 Hannes Van Dahl - Extra Tommy Johansson - Leading Actor 4
Swedish royal guards always bred the elite cavalry that often had to train as regular infantry prior to cavalry unit training some often but not always were conscripts from the Finnish region of Swedish empire pre Charles XII time. Finnish cavalry was often among the elites in Swedish army because of cultural reasons and also geographic reasons....Some have even said that the finnish ethnic ugric group comes from the hunnic horse tribes coming from the eastern steppes :) mingling with the old scandinavian genes. Thats wghy finns are considered "Wild" compared to other parts of official scandinavia.

In a time of war they stood
Descended from 16 men
The kingdoms oldest combat unit
A time
Of war
Wherever the road carries
To protect, the guard swears
For king and kingdom they dedicate their life
Knee to knee the guard march
Fought for founding father ours
Dedicated service for 500 years
From the march over Belt
Fought in Lund, On Narvas field
They follow in the footsteps of heroes
No matter whom the crown wears
To their king loyalty swears
In a time, of peace, they persists
Traditions of old
Still guarding the governance door
In peace
And in battle
Wherever the road leads
Around our king the guard stand
For country and kingdom they sacrifice their life
For Sweden in the time
Where the king goes
They do what seem impossible, whatever the future holds
Wherever the road carries
To protect, the guard swears
For king and kingdom they dedicate their life
Knee to knee the guard march
Fought for founding father ours
Dedicated service for 500 years
From the march over Belt
Fought in Lund, On Narvas field
They follow in the footsteps of heroes
You don’t know what an honor it is to see myself on a video of someone like you, even if it is for a few seconds.
The guitarist in Sabaton, Tommy Johansson, have a side band Majestica. Please react to Majestica - Above the Sky or Ghost of Christmas Past.
if he can then he should also react to '' never lie'' by Reinxeed , tommys old band & that song is where the riff of ''a ghost in the trenches'' comes from
The Swedish Livgardet was formed in January1521 to bee the life guard to the king Gustaf Wasa.
They recorded the music video about 20 minutes from where I live in a place called "Garpenbergs slott" :)
The local school has its annual prom there every year, so I have been there several times. It's a beautiful place, especially in the summer.
Falun which is the home town of Sabaton is about 45 minutes from where I live. Every year I go to Sabaton Open Air and see the live, except 2020 :(
I cant wait to see your reaction to the english version that just released today
There will be an english version of this song at some point. The teaser Sabaton released over christmas had english lyrics.
Hey heath love all your reactions, you should react to wolf pack by sabaton dirty heavy guitar.
A wolf pack is what they used to call a groupe of u.boats in ww2
believe me the lyrics are amazing.
If you search on youtube ''Livgardet Eng Lyrics'' You will find a video!
I am a swedish tenn who loves Sabaton & your channel!
(More to explain the mentality of the people living in Dalarna) 💪💪
Why Gustav Vasa recruited men from Dalarna: at that time Gustav Eriksson (Eriksson was his original surname) fled away from the danish (and swedish pro danish) soldiers, and at that time it was forbidden for farmers in Sweden to have weapons at home. But Gustav Eriksson (Vasa) knew that the farmers in Dalarna gave a f**k in that law, because people in Dalarna are known to be stubborn and proud people so they did as they wanted themselves anyway. So he fled to Dalarna to seek shelter and support among the locals in Dalarna to fight back the danish and pro danish soldiers and I think it was at that point the first 16 men of his royal guard was recruited 😊
You should also dig into the Battle of Narva (mentioned in the text) its considered to be the greatest victory in Swedish history!
Song is about celebrating that the Swedish royal guards is celebrating their 500 year anniversary. One of the oldest regiments in the world.
People might be a bit early in reacting. No subtitles have been submited yet.
One of the most humiliating situations ever was ciciting the officers mess at I1 and seeing all these captured battle flags. Complete with bullet holes, blood and everything left behind.
I can’t wait to sing this live with them at a show!
Sabaton - the lion from the north
This song is based on an old Swedish hymn called "Härlig är jorden" (Wonderful is the earth).
Sabaton is absolutely great.... allways.... and you, keep up the great work of listening to many good things, thank you !
I've been a soldier in sweden. Always listened on this song.
Man when Joakim sings before the guitar solo, it always get me. Epica also released their new album yesterday. React to their new songs, Abyss of Time, Rivers, Wolves, they also released a new video yesterday but I don't remember which song.
I bet this sounds inspiring AF if this is your native language!!!
It does! \m/
I think Livgardet is pronounced like this
Liv like Liv Tyler
Gardet like Garden
Please do "the lost battalion", that song is just perfect in every way possible
Do no bullets fly next time please. The animated history Video is good
Exactly like this
Joakim Brodén - Leading Actor 1
Pär Sundström - Leading Actor 2
Chris Rörland - Leading Actor 3
Hannes Van Dahl - Extra
Tommy Johansson - Leading Actor 4

I Think it is 9 april
@@ulfandersson3853 yea your right, close enough😅
If you feel choked up, just you feel how we choke up when we hear this,
Please do the unkillable soldier,
Hell fighters or the lost battalion
As a half Swedish, this one brings tears to my eyes and a smile on my face
Swedish royal guards always bred the elite cavalry that often had to train as regular infantry prior to cavalry unit training some often but not always were conscripts from the Finnish region of Swedish empire pre Charles XII time. Finnish cavalry was often among the elites in Swedish army because of cultural reasons and also geographic reasons....Some have even said that the finnish ethnic ugric group comes from the hunnic horse tribes coming from the eastern steppes :) mingling with the old scandinavian genes. Thats wghy finns are considered "Wild" compared to other parts of official scandinavia.
React to The Last Stand, The Lost Battalion and To Hell And Back from Sabaton please! All of the are awesome songs you are going to love them :D

The honored Life Guard stands
founded by our country's father,
500 year long dedicated service.
From the March across the Belts,
the battle at Lund, to the fields of Narva,
they follow in the footsteps of heroes.
Forged in fire and Dalecarlian blood,
frozen ground and heroism,
in a time of war they rose.
Descended from only 16 men,
the Kingdom's oldest military unit.
A time
of war.
Wherever the road may lead,
the guard swears to protect
they devote their life to king and kingdom.
Shoulder to shoulder the life guard marches,
fought for our country's father
500 year long dedicated service.
From the March across the Belts,
the battle at Lund, to the fields of Narva,
they follow in the footsteps of heroes.
Irrespective of who wears the crown,
they swear fidelity to the king
in a time of peace they persist.
Traditions from ages past,
still guarding the door of power
in peace
and in battle.
Wherever the road may lead,
the guard stands around our king,
they sacrifice their lives for country and kingdom.
Shoulder to shoulder the life guard marches,
fought for our country's father
500 year long dedicated service.
From the March across the Belts,
the battle at Lund, to the fields of Narva,
they follow in the footsteps of heroes.
For Sweden in a time
when the king departs,
they do what seems impossible,
whatever the future may hold.
Wherever the road may lead,
the guard swears to protect
they devote their life to king and kingdom.
The honored Life Guard stands
founded by our country's father,

'Beast in Black', "Fifth Angel' GRIFFIIIIIIIITH!!!!!!! (Sorry as a fan it's obligatory), 'Zodd the Immortal', there are others but those are the first to pop to mind.
I love this song and am so disappointed that the Swedish army backed out of the planned collab with Sabaton to make this song an official anthem for Livgardet.
