    The Rega P3 is one of the best bang-for-your-buck turntables. Adding these features and looks makes it a no-brainer if you're in the market for a turntable around this price point.

      Outstanding ! It’s a video about a turntable. Words like fantastic, outstanding and great, have been watered down to mean very little these days. It was talking with some friends the other day one said “if you except mediocrity you will receive it”.

    Because of the great value cost, I'm looking to get one in a month's time. Thankfully, I live in the UK and the cost is £899.00 which equates today to $1,168.34. Obviously it's more expensive in the USA due to being imported.

    Weight and heft is an extremely important factor in great sound with turntables. The top tt makers dont use foam.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That has been a long running debate. You have many turntables in the Rega camp and you can’t argue with their success, especially the critical acclaim on their latest top of the line. And you have the weight camp. Both have merits.

    I’ve got a Rega Planar 3 50th Anniversary edition connected to my Edifier S3000 Pro speakers, but the audio is very quiet. Is there a reason someone knows for why this is happening?

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would make sense as those do not have a phono input. You need this and a pair of audio cables. www.audioadvice.com/turntables/phono-preamps/pro-ject-phono-box-mm-phono-preamp-black

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you need a Moving Magnet phono stage. We recommend this one: www.audioadvice.com/rega-fono-mm-mk5-phono-preamp
      Unless you have a receiver or amp with a phono input already, then you could just plug into that one. Hope that helps!

    • @rlwings
      @rlwings 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AudioAdvice Although that may be true, under that logic I would now be limited to Ortofon cartridges only, LOL doesn't really solve the problem...... Don't want to use spacers...... Also, "HiViNews" on TH-cam did a direct comparison between the Technics 1200 versus the P3. The 1200 came out in top in terms of dynamics and 3D presentation.... I also think the P1 with an Nagoka cartridge and a Schiit Mani preamp sounds better than the P3. Which is a bit strange.

    • @tima.478
      @tima.478 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I picked up this TT this year, (from AudioAdvice), but decided on the Nagaoka MP-200 over the Exact cart that it came with. You can shim the tonearm/cartridge If you use a different cart and want to try and maintain close to a desirable 92 degree SRA-stylus rake angle and a 20 degree VTA-vertical tracking angle of the stylus-cantilever. A lot of fancy lingo that means, just level the tonearm for the most part, lol. (then adjust the VTF- vertical tracking force and recheck the azimuth). No shims needed for the MP-200, tonearm sits perfect.

      They have given it a wood effect due to years of research into designing it & stuck with the best original base material.
