A speculative Dread Mob meme list: 2 Meks, 2 Stompas, and an absolute horde of little battle-line Grots.
In my head, the two Ork Stompa crews think they are fighting each other, and the opponent's army is just getting in their way. 😊

I’m playing against this in two days with my DA. I’m going to be krumped real bad.
Update: I got krumped by the Stompa. It used Lethals, full Rerolls of hits, and +1 dmg to kill my Land Raider turn one, then another 500 pts of my army turn 2. I conceded turn 3 due to loss of models. (He rolled hot all game).

If it makes you feel any better, orkz are never beaten so you wouldn't have won regardless of how strong your codex is
Just use the Lion with fight first and 4+++
As long as you're not using a DA detachment I think you can win.
You know what Orkz need for this? We need a Character Mek Grot Killa Kan. Give it a squig firing Shokk Attack Gun, the ability to lead killa kanz and give them, say, Dev Wounds on their weapons or a KFF field while the character itself has some debuffing rule for when it hits an enemy with a squig, or maybe a chance for mortal wounds to nearby units for every squig that hit.
I would just say make a Deff Dread character that leads them. Be about same size difference as Mozrog and Squighog boyz. I like the idea of Squig aiming since Squigs and Grots aim better than Orks.
Cant wait to run dread mob. I've built a Deff dread with 4 rocket launchers. 🚀 he'll never hit. But. he will have a lot of fun right up till the time he explodes lol.
I like three Klaws and a Burna with Kanz backing it up if you want the Rockets. However you could stand a Mek near him for a +1 to hit but I feel there'll be better targets for that as well.
@richardwales9674 yea I need to invest in a few more meks. At the moment my army is primarily Goff Bully Boyz. But with the new codex and that new Bad Moon character. I'm starting a Bad Moons Dread Mob army 😁 🌙
@@War_Hammered Bad Moon Dread Mob would be cool. Boyz in Trukks wouldn't hurt as a back up. I keep thinking about Lootas in a Trukk and wonder how much I can move the Trukk and fire the Lootas without penalty if at all. I need to look that rule option up.

The Dread Mob is the main reason why I'm so excited for ne new codex. Finally all my walker can go out and kill again!
An idea for those of us mourning Grot Tanks: Pick up/ make/ print some grabbing claws or mini Death Rollers to attach to them and then you've got something pretty close to a Killa Kan for your Dreadmob. You need to hand-wave the 'walker' part a bit but in most situations it should be fine.
Basic Meks are going to be pretty key for Dreadmob. If you've got one in a backfield unit of Lootas near some Mek Gunz, you can position him to buff the closest gun for the +1 to hit and potentially buff out Hazardous damage at the same time, which is great if you're planning to Push It. You can also rotate them using the transport capacity of the bigger walkers since the buff happens at the end of movement, so you can have on get into a Stompa, move the Stompa, and kick out another one to do the buff, repeating every turn.

My early 9th edition army was all got tanks, killa kanz, and kill tanks (on TTS). Not a terribly amazing list but it sure looked cool.

I’m so bummed out… painted x8 FW/GW Grot Tanks n was able to also get x2 complete Mega Grot Tank Kits from a small Restock GW did…

Don’t underestimate Meganobs lead by a Big Mek in Megarmor. Real good output in this detachment.
I was thinking the same and surprised no one is really noticing this, guess they are to hung up on Bully Boyz atm to notice.
The ork codex is so well written. I am considering starting a new army just to run dreadmob. (I already have several armies. I will not try that.) But that is how good the codex is. I play SW, Nids, GSC, Custodians and working on painting some knights. Meanwhile my Custodies are looking at the new codex and I am not so excited for it. 😭😚

Your not thinking Orky enough. Instead of worrying about getting a Hazardous roll, you maximize the Hazardous roll to get as many benefits as possible for Hazardous on 1's and 2's. For example, if you got a Deff Dred with 4 Kustom Mega Blasta's, you might as well choose sustained for double hazardous, and since your already here, add pushed Bigger shells for Bigger gitz , and pushed Dakka Dakka Dakka, since both downsides are negated by already being double hazardous.
I used the press it fasta on lootas and getting both lethals and sustained on lootas with plunging fire, shooting on to an objective for full rerolls was brutal!

I really wish they would get around to making an army box with Dread Mob units at some point, it is the only part of my Ork collection that seems really lacking, but i just refuse to buy models when they are not discounted.

glad I got the previous Combat Patrol before the new one. It's not exactly Dread Mob specific but it is nice to get the Dread in there.
Ima be real, the "Bigger Guns" strat is pretty clear that the +1 damage is ONLY against Vehicles or Monsters, if you read it properly.
"Whenever (eligible unit) makes an attack that TARGETS A MONSTER OR VEHICLE.... If you pushed it, add 1 to the damage characteristics of THAT ATTACK"
"That" is a very important word, here, because it's not "Any" attack, it's "That" attack. And the context for "that attack" is "an attack that targets a monster or vehicle"
If GW was really supporting the Ork walkers, they’d have rules for the 2nd edition Ork Dreadnought, for those who still have ‘em!

@@Awesomotron2k probably, but because of the Ork’s Power of Belief (I’m a tank! I’m a tank!), the cardboard cut-out dread will be invisible from the sides!
Last night I lost a 4x KMB Dread after shooting 12 shots, missing all of them, then rolling a 1, 2, 2, 1 on his hazardous tests. Then, I lost 3 Kans to me overwatching. Still had a great time.
This is my back up detachment, I'm currently trying out bully boyz. However, ill be adding to dread mob once i have my mega nobz covered
I remember back in 6th edition you could add a warboss deff dread. Proper stompy army.

Played this against my friend who was running Grey Knights, it was an absolute blast both figuratively and literally. I scored Assassination because my friend’s Brotherhood Librarian accidentally blew himself up, destroyed a lot of Grey Knights because I gave every single unit at least one Rokkit Launcha, my Gorkanaut deleted an entire Strike Squad, my boys would kill themselves via hazardous tests before they could get attacked back, great stuff
Here’s a fun combo for anyone who cares: Deff Dread with 4x Kustom Mega Blastas. I named mine Bommadakka, threw him into strat reserves and had him jump out to gun down some stray units with the help of some stratagems, he killed himself in the end but it was a ton of fun
This really does sound really fun to run.
The way Bigger Shells For Bigger Gitz is worded it clearly does NOT grant +1 damage on attacks that aren't targeting a monster or vehicle. If you think it does read the wording again more carefully.

I have a pretty snagga heavy collection, but I've really wanted to do something dakka-oriented. This detachment has made me rethink orks in general. Meks leading lootas might be the move!

This detachment looks great, fun and balancing powerful strats with risk that makes the player think. They're not great in isolation anyway but the Custodes ones really suffer in comparison given they released at the same time

So I just finished the richmond gt with dread mob. I took stompa, gorkanaut, morkanaunt, 9 killa kans, and meks. Went 3-2-1. Great weekend and the stompa does work

I ran 1500pts of dread mob yesterday. Kan shootas are surprisingly good when you layer buffs and hunt for dev wounds.
22:10 I feel bad for the Gretchin for that stats, I mean runtherd could be treated as The leader rather than have +2 thoughness when around the gretchin. It could provide once per turn battleshock re-roll but with offset if it killed by *Precision* the rest gretchin unit destroyed with it

Out of topic but extra AP for every critical wound should new USR like *Impale* or *Puncture*
how about an honorable mention for the boyz? a mek gives the whole squad the mek keyword. lethal hits, sustained hits or bonus AP in melee could be scary with choppas.
After being admittedly indifferent to buying the Stompa Boyz Battleforce, there was one available at my FLGS so I caved to temptation and bought it. In addition to being an extraordinary discount (I crunched the numbers and basically the Stompa costs $10, and I needed the new Big Mek, more Boyz, another Trukk, and didn’t own any Burna Boyz or Lootas), I figured the Stompa would be a shortcut to a Dread Mob detachment.
The only problem is that Killa Kans are sold out everywhere, and with Dread Mob appearing to be the strongest detachment in the Orks 10e codex, I anticipate they’re going to be in high demand for the next few months!
Fortunately, I can play my Beast Snagga army while I wait.
I think dread mob is the funniest deattachment pretty sure green tide and bully Bois will be the best deattachment.

I’m searching for custom Orks minis to expand my collection and fill out a Bully Boyz list.
What would be the best use of the Morkanaut's transport capacity? You could put some Meganobz in it instead of using a trukk, saving 65 points, but the slower movement on the Morkanaut would make getting the Meganobz into charge range by turn 2 more difficult. Maybe use it to bring some Gretchin up the board?
100% Gretchin in there, that way if/when it dies, you have obsec annoyances to deal with next.
I think the supa glowy fing could genuinely be useful, depending on the meta. If there's a bunch of high-investment stratagem-eating death stars running around, targeting those with it should always produce a nice enough effect for 20 points. Battleshock means no stratagems for them. D3 MWs? Those models tend to be expensive and don't want to take those. -1 to hit? Not gonna bother custodians much, but if a stompa is 'aiming' at you, it will be the strongest of the effects
No idea what I would take.. But pretty sure i now need some killakans, a morganaut and a gorkanaut.. :D
I’ve always been loyal to “Dreadmobs/Dread WAAAAGH!!s ever since I began playing Orks in 6/7th
List idea for local 1000pts tournament.
Big mek, gorkanaut, 3 deff dreads, and 6 killa kanz.
I had my first casual game with the dread mod rules and i admit i was rolling a bit hot but with a regular mek and stompa selecting sustained hits slapping on dakka dakka dakka and bigger shells for bigger gitz all statergems pushed btw with what i rolled for my attacks on the deff kannon and supa rokkets i actually achieved 100% accuracy if not more of the max attacks i rolled and even got 100% accuracy or more pretty constantly on the supa galter as well so i can confirm with a bit of luck the stompa can barf an absolute torrent of bullets.
I got everything i want in this codex and more it buffed literally every aspect of my army and i couldn't be happier a Big WAAAAAGGGHHH!!! for all the GORK BOYZ a Big WAAAAAGGGHHH!!! for all the MORK BOYZ and the best LOOTN AND KRUMPIN TO DA LAD WHO DESIGNED DIS CODEX.
It's a lot of fun, but having tried it out it's not good into knights if you're spamming big stuff.
Up front, casual games run what you like, make it thematic, it'll be great.
Having said that Killa Kans were excellent, a lot of wounds, pretty tough, an awkward number of wounds per model for a lot of weapons and a huge footprint and decent OC. Deff Dreads I think are still a bit overcosted, lootas are great but you do need a Mek. I think Snikrot is maybe mandatory, and as tempted as it is to just run stuff that can push the button you need some scoring units.
Note about the Deff Dread, ranged weapons are all individual but 4 klaws is one weapon so one hazardous test with the detachment rule.

Weird that Orks get a walker specialist detachment for their version of Dreadnoughts, but Space Marines just got a generic "vehicle detachment."

The first meta list where you don't even need a 3D printer, you just need a PAPER printer, a printscreen of the 2nd dread, and a manila folder to carry your army around
One thing I disagree with... This is very much the Bad Moons detachment, not death skulls. Emphasis on Meks, the shit they build, Dakka, and even Gretchen which Bad Moons use more than the other klans.

Yes.
I think we should drastically reduce the number of lethal hit rules in the game. Makes zero sense for weapon profiles to receive it which otherwise couldnt wound the target.

The AP on sixes in the core rule makes me feel like theyre beta testing replacement rules for devastating wounds. I'd like to see something like that happen.

This is the thing : the ork codex looks super fun, while the custode one is boring AF, forget about it even being good or bad. I'm shelving my army until they REALLY fix us, and it might take a very long time.

Is these datasheets the same as in Codex? GW has again written the WRONG range on Twin-big shootas they are 36" range same as the regular big shootas 36" range the are based on. This mistake is the same one they made for the 8th Ed Codex. 😢
Just saw a review of the 10ed codex cards and they caught the error and its printed 36" for the Twin Big Shootas as it should!

Nope. Really feeling like Nobz is still the most usable. Deff dread and kans abilities are still trash. And no way a high point vehicle target will last with so much anti vehicle out there.

dreadmob is more of a joke detachment. You can play it as a meme but its never going to be very effective.
