I have returned to sewing recently after a gap of 40 or so years, and watching your videos is teaching me things I never knew, as well as reminding me of others. So thank you for your clear instructions and pleasant demeanour.
I would love to see a video on interfacing and fitting. Thank you for your videos, I find them really helpful ❤️
Yes, please! Do an interfacing video
Great video! I'd love to see a video series about fitting, especially taking all those measurements, and also a series about types of interfacing, when and how to use them, tips and tricks, etc. Thanks for your awesome content! 😊
Yes, please for more videos on fitting and interfacing applications! Thank you so much for sharing your expert skills with us!
I could TOTALLY Appreciate an Interfacing video 🤗. I believe you produce great quality garments, I hope to get my skills even a fraction of what you produce
Thank you so much Julie. I am in my 70’s and would love a refresher on fitting my garments. My shape has changed over the years and this would be a great help.
Well, I'm glad to see I'm not alone; I'd also LOVE a video dedicated to interfacing, as well as a video dedicated to fitting!
Thank I for sharing your sewing knowledge with us!
Yes more fitting videos.
The interfacing tip for a tight, snipped, inside corner, to keep it from breaking down later is a gem!
Such great tips Julie! I would like to see dedicated videos on interfacing and fitting. I always add interfacing along zipper seams and they turn out perfectly. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. Some things I knew and others I appreciate the reminder, lol.
I second this!
Great tips , thank you. 😊 A video on interfacing and fitting would be wonderful.
I agree with others....fitting, fitting, fitting! Thank you.
I have a Bernina 880+. This book is my bedtime reading. All that sewing power, I’m not going to waste it
Please! I desperately need fitting help. A video would be greatly appreciated. As always, you have given us helpful tips…I’m going to start using the interface at sharp corner technique you’ve shown as well as for my zippers. Many thanks for taking the time to help us Sewists ♥
These are very useful for most. I've been sewing for 43 years now and it's nice to have a reminder of things. Although I studied sewing at school, I had teachers were quite ignorant about sewing. Took me many years of self education to reach the level of high skill that I have now. I only wish that I could do better at fitting my own body.
These days I look at most ready to wear and know that how I constructed my garments is much better. What I love about sewing my own clothes is that I have total control over fabric quality, notions quality and high end machine techniques. The downside is that my clothes are 7-11 years old and in good shape after years of weekly laundering and wear. I'm itching to have new but must wait a while for things to wear out.
A good teacher is such an important part of learning process! I also have a few garments in my closet that I made several years ago and they are as good as new, especially coats and jackets - while I would like to make some new ones, the older ones I made look still quite new and I can only fit that many coats in my closet😁
I like to disassemble my old clothes and put them back together
That’s one of the best methods to learn!👍
i just took apart a pair of old, but perfectly fitting trousers. Made a pattern from one leg, another one is intact to be used as an assembling guide 😅
Your presentation is clear and to the point. Thanks for your clarity.
I need fitting help and would appreciate any and all new videos your make.
Thanks so much.
Thank you, Julia, and fitting tips would be much apreciated
I really find your channel so helpful. I would love episode on fitting.
I would love to hear more about fitting please. Love your videos.
Yes! To an interfacing video❤
Love a fitting and interfacing video.
I would like to see videos on interfacing and fitting please.
I would also love a video on interfacing and fitting. I wish we had a sewing school here in NZ.
EXACTLY what I was looking for!!
Thank you for the tip about interfacing and zippers! I'm making a dress from challis and going to put in a, zipper and was thinking it was probably going to pucker. Now I know what to do!
Please do more on measurements!
Yes, Please do fitting video!
Thank u for the tips...i am just learning sewing since i am studying fashion design.....and being honest i am loving designing and making my own clothes
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Great tips, especially for a beginner like me just learning how to sew. Thank you for sharing ❤
I would love a fitting tutorial as well as the interfacing. I'm in learning process and there is so much interfacing, it's hard to know what's the right one to use and even how to use it. I even placed an order for pick up at a shop here for some interfacing that a pattern recommended and I have not used it yet because, while I don't know much about interfacing, I do know they cut me and gave me the wrong kind. I kept it thinking it would be useful one day, but again, I don't know what to use it on. So please, if you don't have a video on that topic yet, I would love some details on that
I am new to your videos. I have been enjoying your tips! Would love to see how you tackle fitting adjustments! 😅🥰
Yes to fitting information. This video so helpful. Thank you.
Great tips! Julija, could you make video on tips on sewing curves, especially quite sharp ones? I had to redo one curve four times and wondered if there might be some tricks that could help me.
Would love an in-depth video about interfacings. Fitting videos would be extremely helpful also. I am about to sew satin for the first time and in my research I have seen it recommended to use interfacing along the seam lines and I have also seen it recommended not to use interfacing. Quite confusing. I will be testing some interfacing on a seam and see how it works compared to a seam without the interfacing. Do you have a recommendation? Thank you. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Your invisible zipper insertion is one of the first of your videos that I saw and the technique works perfectly.
from my limited experience with silk - grab a fresh 60 needle, do a few test pieces to check the thread tension, sew at a slow pace and try to avoid any curved hems. i did a french seam everywhere where it was possible and did`t have any issues. Any curved edge must be either finished with bias tape or a facing. the hem can be finished with a special machine foot, but i failed to master it. about the interfacing - i wouldn`t use it unless that particular seam has to remain unstrethed. Like if you have something cut on the bias - you might want to put a bit of interfacing into the, say, neckline. Depends on the task, i guess.
I hope anything from what i wrote was helpful, wish you luck!
Yes I worked like to see more on the fitting topic
When I measure my pattern for fit I always make sure I have the correct amount of ease & seam allowance. I then adjust my pattern as needed. Also don’t forget get correct length of things on pattern.
Would love a video on fitting
Thank you very much now I no Wich needle must I use or not to use for the specific fabric thank I hope you will come with more tips to sew ❤
I have kept a top that I would not wear just because of the way it was sewn and the techniques I want to incorporate into my repertoire. It used a full facing, covering the bodice front. Not the standard facing in patterns.
Thanks for the tips 💕. I'm really interested on fitting videos 😅 Sometimes I struggle a little bit to get the perfect fit 😅
I have a few video ideas on fitting, but it’s still needs a bit more work on🤔 But I’m very glad to hear there’s an interest in topic like this!🤗
Fitting videos please!!!
I use Burda patterns a lot. Please show how to adjust patterns to adjust necklines and bust lines. I sometimes get gaping at the neck or at the armhole.
Hello Julija I enjoyed this video and as usual I am inspired. Last time I commented I said I would book some sewing lessons and now I have but I will also book lessons to go through my machine manual. I do look at the manual but I struggle to comprehend, for me the diagrams and instructions are not clear enough. So thank you and yes do talk about interfacings 😊ps I look forward to seeing your new machine and you showing and learning about all its benefits 😊
I would like to do a few videos in the future about sewing machines and their functions - that’s definitely a great topic and using sewing machine capabilities to maximum can be such a game changer!🤗
@@Julija_Gobere great idea 😀 I noticed many wanted to know more about interfacing and I need that too
I definitely need help with fitting. I am 5 feet tall, 100 pounds. No patterns ever fit. Even patterns for jersey fabrics add ease. I have been doing my best to alter the patterns, but I’m not confident that I am making the appropriate adjustments.
