The call came in via the store and hearing my mom's shaky voice on the other line, i knew something was not right. I couldn't even respond. I hanged up and seek my manager, told her it's an emergency and i need to rush off. Her answer? "No cannot, you need to find replacement." I don't bother begging her to let me go off. I just gave her my disgusted look, took my bag and ran away. My mind was so disorientated that i couldn't even book a cab. I was at the taxi stand and crying like a baby. So thankful for the mom who offered me her taxi. I don't even remember if I did even mutter 'thank you' to her. Till this day, i don't patronise that shop and effing hate that manager! I officially MIA-ed eversince that day. I don't even care if i have bad record or whatever. I can find a job elsewhere, but whenever it comes to family. That is irreplaceable.

(It was just my manager and i working there at the time) My probation was 3 months but when she was supposed to confirm my position, she told me that because of covid she had to delay my confirmation and my increment. But she still "treats me as a full-time staff and expects 110% from me" i mean. Really tho. Sus 😒
