I like the emotion he puts into his drumming, or that seems to come across in his vids at least, most music is emotional and this dude shows it unlike a lot of musicians now
Nic petterson has been my biggest inspiraton to this day. i was stuffing around on a music site when i found "Discoveries", I showed it to my bands vocalist and he told me it was shit, i told him "you watch these guys will blow up and go big" i knew as a drummer Nic was one of the most technical and creative i have ever herd, northlane seemed to put me in a trance when i was listening to them, dont ever stop making music or i will die!
This song is so nostalgic for me it seriously never gets old. The instrumental version is so beautiful as well. It's on spotify if you haven't heard it go listen immediately.
he looks like he's just totally fucking around in that intro. in the sickest way possible lol. Im not a drummer, but i have seen plenty of drumming playthroughs on here, and i have to say his personality and style behind the kit is like none ive ever seen.
Fuckin' brilliant band. This is why they are one of my favorites. All the parts of the band are fuckin' awesome by themselves. Then when you combine them..
such a unique player, with no ego about himself or the band. i was at that gig and they destroyed the stage. the skill is something you dont see in alot of bands at the same time the clarity works so well. they deserve where there going
Homies a psychologist now, he’s got a great brain and a really intelligent way of thinking as well as articulating himself BUT I will forever miss Adrian as part of this band and it sucks it was such a strain on his cords
hey headbangers thanks for all the sharing, comments and thumbs up on the clip! Keep it coming and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and check out some of live drum clips we have on our channel! On another note what's everyone's thoughts on the NEW Northlane song??
BurnThePope0514 Ya he wouldn't be that hard to replace him. And I'm not hating he's still an awesome drummer, just saying there's nothing insanely special or complex about his drumming.
ericvader8 LOL polyphia's drummer was pretty generic.. He had great speed and technique, nobody can deny that, but it was all fast double bass, tom fills, and blast beats. Nothing special..
It was just meant to demonstrate how he plays the drums. Since he is a very accurate and precise drummer, this was a good video to use. It's not a fake, it just matches up.
not sure what you mean by 'longplay' or how you think it is fake. The audio is overdubbed with the original recording due to lack of live audio recording setup.
He looks like he isnt even trying, having so much fun.. My favourite drummer ever!
I like the emotion he puts into his drumming, or that seems to come across in his vids at least, most music is emotional and this dude shows it unlike a lot of musicians now
he has the most fluid energy man. it all looks so natural
Masterpiece song, unique drumming, very powerful, just brilliant! Imo one of Northlane’s best!
1:21
Bassist: "Whee!"
Left hand control is amazing. Love how he can sit on the groove and play minimalistic just as well as the technical stuff.
His precision is insane

as much as I like Nic, there are a lot more technical and creative drummers than him.
Really inspiring playing.
This song is so nostalgic for me it seriously never gets old. The instrumental version is so beautiful as well. It's on spotify if you haven't heard it go listen immediately.
Why is there people disliking this video? There's nothin wrong nic is just doin what he does best!
So creative and original!
he looks like he's just totally fucking around in that intro. in the sickest way possible lol. Im not a drummer, but i have seen plenty of drumming playthroughs on here, and i have to say his personality and style behind the kit is like none ive ever seen.
I agree, he is easily my favorite drummer.
I said that too! H's just like "Yup gonna just fuck around. Why? cause I can."
As usual from Nic, an unreal performance. :)
Fuckin' brilliant band. This is why they are one of my favorites. All the parts of the band are fuckin' awesome by themselves. Then when you combine them..
Niceeeee
a very talented drummer. He follows every note, it just like im watching him recording himself doing the studio version of the song.
why is Quentin tarantino drumming at this gig?
such a unique player, with no ego about himself or the band. i was at that gig and they destroyed the stage. the skill is something you dont see in alot of bands at the same time the clarity works so well. they deserve where there going
Wish I could like this twice
favorite video
why not post the video with the live audio..?
legend has it that when adrian hears what northlane have become, he cries uncontrollably for three days and three nights
Homies a psychologist now, he’s got a great brain and a really intelligent way of thinking as well as articulating himself
BUT I will forever miss Adrian as part of this band and it sucks it was such a strain on his cords
i wanna hear the live version now

Rot rox!
Hi Tyrone, this is one of our colleagues bands tracks they are called 'Mechanical Silencer'.
GROOVYYYYYYY
I love his little shoulder shrug at :40 hahaha
anyone know if he used those hhx hats in the studio for this album? sounds tight
I wonder what happened when he moves the snare to look down at the end of the video?
Good luck to them if they ever need a replacement...
There's no one that could replace him :)
Oh whatever guys, they could easily find a replacement, but he is good. Damn good.
BurnThePope0514 Ya he wouldn't be that hard to replace him. And I'm not hating he's still an awesome drummer, just saying there's nothing insanely special or complex about his drumming.
I don't knowwww, I never though Polyphia could pull off a replacement and they did it great!
ericvader8 LOL polyphia's drummer was pretty generic.. He had great speed and technique, nobody can deny that, but it was all fast double bass, tom fills, and blast beats. Nothing special..
Mad style and memory on this kid holy shit
3:32 "oooh a penny!"
sick drumming by the way
Nic is a tank!
Andrew, you can msg Nic on his facebook or youtube channel. He will no doubt let you know!
Nic is a monster
damn!!!1
nics a monster behind his kit! XD
Can we take a second to notice the guitarists' stage presence? that whirlwind doe
kinda wanted to hear the live audio..
whats the song in the intro?
Fuck. Yes.
fuck yea
fuckin adrian. the only metal frontman that's got dance moves up his sleeve. :3
This was northlane at peak performance.
feels every note* :p @JankSmanks
This almost looks like a studio recording with a greenscreen. But if not, that bassist is going just a bit too hard.
Koen "Northlane - Quantum Flux" check out my drumcover ! :)
This is just the studio recording over a live video...
Dem legs.
Fake ... recording is from longplay wtf?
It was just meant to demonstrate how he plays the drums. Since he is a very accurate and precise drummer, this was a good video to use. It's not a fake, it just matches up.

Tyron Tention
my friend was just asking me about "Rot" he wanted to know if the drummer used double bass or not cause he always opens the high hats.
William Hamill he does use a double bass pedal. th-cam.com/video/ZilMsqlxHHk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=NicPettersendrums
William Hamill yea man hes using double bass for alot of rot
This isn't even their live sound
This isn't he drumming
Turtle drumming style
I wish i could get away with wearing those shorts.
