@@stuartmacher6031 Do you mean the HD Collection? The PC port was handled in-house by Konami itself and was actually pretty good. As for the HD Collection on PS3/360, yeah that was anything but good. These games deserve newer and better ports now.
They didn't have the rights even by HD collection release time which is much later. But they got sh2 voice actors to sign their rights away, that's why you can choose original voices in HD collection, but not in sh3

I used to work as a janitor in this huge justice center and one night I turned off all the the lights in the stairway and turned the basement lights off too .....I went in with my phone inside my shirt pocket with its flash on but I got to scared to even step down the first set of stairs ......I would never survive in silent hill
Because the Triple A market relies on Jumpscares and the cheapest scare tactics. At least modern indie games are taking massive influence from SH1/2 and actually focusing on atmosphere
7:19 Scariest moment in the entire game for me, when you really enter the nightmare hospital. Those red & blurry walls are extremely unsettling to me. And the sound effects are fucked up. I had to put down the controller for a few seconds when I reached this part
There was no door at the end of that corridor. Just like in SH1 there has never been a fourth floor in the hospital. And I love these mindfucks SH does to the players

I do remember seeing cluttered objects I think. But after that phone call when I went there and saw no obstacles and a door that somehow I completely "missed" that was super bone chilling. In my top favorite SH moments for sure.
It's interesting how returning to back to the hallway after entering that door automatically spawns more monsters. That's something that I noticed in other sections of the game. It's a mechanic that forces the player to keep going forward. Gives a sense of feeling caught and trapped.
When it comes to the otherworld, I will always think the first _Silent Hill_ had THE CREEPIEST ONE. This one is creepy too, I wouldn't be able to walk it throught. Silent Hill 2 was the less creepy outta the three tho... IMO, IMO, IMO!!!!
SH2 is the less scary of the first 4 games, it has the best story and soundtrack though SH1 is the scarier and since SH3 shares the same style as its direct sequel it's almost as scary, so I 100% agree with you
@@Xporttek777 Agree about SH2 being the less scary of main 4. But for me, SH3 is the scariest. SH1 is very scary but has some goofy enemies that slightly lower the fear level. Music is frightening as hell (lol). But SH3 otherworld is by far the creepiest and disturbing, there are no moments that you can relax and amunition is sparse. Enemies are fast and loud and sound design is top notch. Very stressful experience.

I know it's a late reply but in case someone else needs help getting that item. The camera is located inside the briefcase on top of the bed, the one that is next to the wall that has a lot of crap glued to it by Stanley Colman.
The siren represents violent memories and forceful transition, This one was Heather's journey to the past by her own volition. Notice the labyrinth tunnel, that's her own siren, it's like stumble through buried and fractured memory of her past life.

The town also don't have control over it, It was the person who was influenced by the town that subconciously wills it. Because the siren also connected to the state of REM sleep, a time we can vividly remembering our dreams. As such, when the Siren blaring it doesn't mean the town brought the power down on them, it means the character is about to fall asleep and enter their own nightmare, while the town just answering them, turning their deepest thought into reality whether they wants it or not.

My goodness, Silent Hill 3 still looks phenomenal 17 years later. Looks better and way creepier than many of today’s horror games.

Yes, but 4's were different in structure to 1-3's. It's best if you played it for yourself, I wouldn't want to spoil it for you.
