It's annoying the hell out of me that nobody has been able to unlock the computer in the C8 yet.
Still, is NA, you won't see that much gain, maybe with E85 but still nothing like a tuned turbo car.

Just like gen3 coyotes and 6th gen lt1’s the c8 gonna pick up 50-70whp fbo with e85. Add that to already sub 3sec 0-60’s and pretty much 10’s out the box on a dr. As some have said it won’t pick up like boosted engine true,doesn’t need to lol. Then add boost and hear excuses for years on it’s not fair

The C8 launches amazing. A C8 just ran at Fall Brawl up at Cecil County DragWay and got a 10.5 on motor without a tune.. Name another ~60k car that's running that time without a tune and a couple bolt ons..

@@TheDamonsta you right, 460whp is what most are getting. Saw like 2 guys with dyno’d reading a bit high at like 482whp. But still the c8 is 300 lbs lighter, more aerodynamic, better gearing, and like a 2.8 0-60 stock
Why do people always buy Corvettes with the high drag racing setup ans DRAG RACE THEM. You gotta know that wing isn't helping at high speeds. That's a track setup as in for corners not high speed passes.

They already have figured it out. You can buy a piggyback solution or a stand alone ECU. The transmission is really holding things back since there arent many aftermarket upgrades for the clutches or internals.
@@EK-rr2md yup 👍 650whp is the limit after that nothing but clutch slipping on TT setup. You could just go N/A and build up the motor. Cams, pistons, rods, meth, etc.
But then again your max whp N/A would be like 550.

Exactly! I was considering the C8 Stingray, but after seeing the performance, I decided to buy a C8 Z06, so I joined 1000's of others in the order queue! Only time will tell if it is the beast they talk about.

So I am guessing the Z06 with options will be $130-140K. Considering options like carbon fiber wheels combined with larger Cup 2 tires and active-aero, it will not be cheap. I am in the order queue at MSRP through MacMulkin. The large dealers are not gouging.

It is just due to really short gears which is why it gets walked at higher speeds.
@@EK-rr2md that’s not how it works lol shorter gears just means quicker acceleration but loses its top speed. The issue with the c8 is that 4th gear it’s a tall gear which it should be short. Chevy made a mistake by doing 2 short gears and tall gears up top. No one cares for top speed they should of just had all short gears maxing the car to 160-180 tops. Instead the car Max’s at 204mph. Which is dumb in my opinion.
2022 c8 is gonna be a beast high revving 5.5L so watch out for that one

@@frontxxrunner Base Z06 is reportedly $90K. I am in the order queue for a Z06 convertible (#244 at MacMulkin.) I am estimating (based on the C8 options I would get, plus Z06 performance options) that it will be $130-140K. I had priced out a C8 Stingray and it was $102K.

I’d still take the C8 over any of the others stock. Others had tunes etc to edge it and cost as much of not more. Wait until he mods C8 and then see. That Supra is going to blow up with abuse...it’s basically a BMW which stands for better make plans to walk LOL BMWs are known to be for girls.
Stock motor supras are going low 9s to 8s.

You don’t see many BMW motor swaps into anything else...you do see thousands of LSX/LT swaps into many brand vehicles...including Supra’s, BMW’s and Fords. So that to me says a lot about reliability and power delivery right there.
Truth is @J Capela, when you’re out there hitchhiking because your POS broke down, the guy in the BMW won’t give you a ride because he doesn’t want your smelly ass on his leather seats. You’re just bitter.

@@kkellerk23 actually, there has been about 18,000 of them that were purchased at sticker. Very few dealerships took dealer stocked cars to price high. Most of the allocations went to customers paying more. The second hand market is where things get crazy. Welcome to capitalism.

And like I said befor, it's folks that "have to have one" fault why they get away with paying over sticker. Price gouging is a human problem, not a capitalism problem. These are all slow AF cars. The C8 was beat by a mediocre 3.5 sec Ferrari by 30 car lengths in the quarter mile on Motor Trend. Its dog slow.

I have a decent car collection, including a 400 lb lighter, same NA engine, C7 Corvette Grand Sport CE. Even as a dead warranty 2017 with miles it sells for way more than a base C8. Its not fast, either.

For 60k it’s ok. It has very consistent 0-60 times of under 3 seconds for a rwd that’s impressive but we are all waiting for the z06 to come out with more power and wide body
