    “Spray and pray “ that’s a good one. I haven’t heard that before. I like the red and black. I’d totally wear this shirt.

      Yeah, I’ve seen a few people refer to tie dye as “spray and pray” this shirt really made me understand the meaning of what they were referring to. Thanks for watching! ❤️🌈

      🤣 This shirt got away from me!! It’s tie dye, most everything looks good, but this was one of those where it didn’t quite go as planned. Every time I see it all I can see is octopus tentacles curling around. I’m from the PNW and we have the giant octopus here. At our Aquarium at Seaside we had a humongous octopus and he would slap his tentacles out of his exhibit and scare the life out of me as a child. If you can, watch “My Octopus Teacher” it’s on Netflix. It’s amazing!! I digress. 😁 You should make yourself one of these shirts. ❤️🌈

    After I soak in soda ash and let them dry to a damp stage (I don't have a spin-only cycle), I neatly fold the shirts, place them in zip lock bags and store them in the refrigerator until I am ready to fold 'n' dye. This works well for me.

    Thank you for sharing your talent? When you wash your undyed shirts do you just cover them and have ready to dye? At that point do you do the soda ash process?

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I keep them in totes. I pull them out and soak them at least 20 minutes before I dye them. Sometimes they soak for days until I get to them. It doesn’t hurt them. ♥️🌈

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo

      Yup, this one got away from me completely. It’s on my laundry list of things to do again. At some point there will be a part two. I still like the shirt too, but it’s one of those situations where you plan for one thing and something else ends up happening. It originally was supposed to have white stripes.... ❤️🌈

    Why do you let the shirts dry?

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The theory is to get better saturation. The water from the soda ash isn’t taking up space. The dry shirt pulls in the dye. (Exact opposite for me) Before I got the Panda spin dryer my shirts were super damp... now that they are almost dry from the spin out I think I’m going to stop setting them aside to dry. It’s been nothing but a nuisance with this last stack of shirts. Also, it’s a matter of preference. Damp gives a more blended look and dry kinda gives a fireworks look. I should do a side by side video. ❤️🌈

    • @11chago11
      @11chago11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BelladonnaDyesCo side by side video would be great. I've also heard putting a dry towel on the bottom helps with saturation. I've only used tulip kits so far to tye dye so not sure how that works for saturation. I just got some dyes in from pro chem that I need to mix and give them a try

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@11chago11 I’ve tried the towel too. The theory there is the dry towel will wick the moisture out pulling the dye through. I especially use my dye towel under extra long pieces that are too big for my dye trays, I try not to be extra messy while dyeing. My “wig wag” video, the towel makes its debut. 😁 You’ll absolutely love the vibrancy of your new dyes. Let me know how it turn out for you. ❤️🌈
