I just don't understand why they keep making you pump fake in scenarios where there's no reason to on top of it not mattering whether you shoot quickly or hold the button and they stall, it literally makes no sense. It's like they pick and choose when they want the same functions to work a certain way and from somebody who comes from the OG era, it's bordline maddening which is why I even rarely play now.

The last truly "great" NBA 2K in my opinion is 2K16. Everything since been GARBAGE. The best 2K since the start of the 8th gen is 2K14. I'll rather play NBA 2K14 through 2K16 before I play another 2K ever again. They RUINED Mycareer. I will never play that BS ever again as implemented.
NBA 2K and Madden just prove to us that AI maybe isn’t the threat we think it is, but then we have to realize who is developing this AI. Leagues don’t care I guess, as long as the grosses stay up, the quality will never change.
2k and madden should earn an award for how hard they have killed competition from making sports games. If madden doesn’t get that nfl exclusive rights deal, and if madden continued NBA live after 2018 which was 5 years ago (damn I can’t believe I’m saying that) I believe both franchises would still be in that mid to great range for sport games. The last great titles for both franchises were probably madden 11 or 12 and the last great 2k was 2k16. Each 2k now has its own major flaw, 23 you get no vc for your hard work, 22 you had wonking shooting, 21 you had some games feeling scripted and the Ai on your team playing like actual filth compared to their real life counterparts, 20 and 18 player could cheese the game and not have to use real skill to win games (the true start of the left right cheese were these years) and 18 introduced vc again (the beginning of the end remember they tried this in 2k13 and that shit was garbage to) whis is a huge drop off compared to attribute points/skill points in 2k17 and 2k16 and is also by everyone in the community as the worst 2k of all time. 2k17s problem was just lag to be honest and 2k16 was goated 🐐.

NBA 2K is now at the same level as Madden, at least the devs at Madden are trying to improve the features of the game (it's been average at best, to be honest) than 2K. 2K has been lazy with the money that it makes thanks to virtual trading cards mode and that's why the gameplay hasn't been improved.

I stopped buying madden and 2k after 2020 then I decided to give 2k23 a chance because of MYeras. Due to the horrible shooting I got about 10hrs tops in the game. I am convinced 2k and madden are designed to make people stressed and sick. Part of me believes Take Two interactive is in bed with big pharma to get more gamers prescribed blood pressure medication. Soulsborne and Fighting Games are less stressful than those two shitty franchises. Gaming is great again for me after I have stopped playing 2k and madden. Salute to you deciding to save your money. Iunno. I just use the game as a simulator I don't really play it or do the myplayer thing. I like it more than Madden since it has legacy teams and better options for franchise modes. Im glad i didnt pay for this game. It was added to my playstation extra membership. I always like being able to customize and create fictional teams, I find myself going through all of the trouble of making designs just for the 2K servers to take a dump and i can not upload any new things i change about the teams, it takes forever for my designs to show up after i upload those designs to the 2K upload website. Its just a massive pain in the ass. Also, im kinda new to 2K games, Now i know why they are hated so much not just because of actual gameplay.

I just don't understand why they keep making you pump fake in scenarios where there's no reason to on top of it not mattering whether you shoot quickly or hold the button and they stall, it literally makes no sense.
It's like they pick and choose when they want the same functions to work a certain way and from somebody who comes from the OG era, it's bordline maddening which is why I even rarely play now.
This is what happened when Madden got exclusive rights to produce NFL games. Without any competition they just kept releasing the same terrible game every year extoeting money from players. I gave up on madden 20 years ago
The last truly "great" NBA 2K in my opinion is 2K16. Everything since been GARBAGE. The best 2K since the start of the 8th gen is 2K14.
I'll rather play NBA 2K14 through 2K16 before I play another 2K ever again. They RUINED Mycareer. I will never play that BS ever again as implemented.

NBA 2K and Madden just prove to us that AI maybe isn’t the threat we think it is, but then we have to realize who is developing this AI. Leagues don’t care I guess, as long as the grosses stay up, the quality will never change.

2k and madden should earn an award for how hard they have killed competition from making sports games. If madden doesn’t get that nfl exclusive rights deal, and if madden continued NBA live after 2018 which was 5 years ago (damn I can’t believe I’m saying that) I believe both franchises would still be in that mid to great range for sport games. The last great titles for both franchises were probably madden 11 or 12 and the last great 2k was 2k16. Each 2k now has its own major flaw, 23 you get no vc for your hard work, 22 you had wonking shooting, 21 you had some games feeling scripted and the Ai on your team playing like actual filth compared to their real life counterparts, 20 and 18 player could cheese the game and not have to use real skill to win games (the true start of the left right cheese were these years) and 18 introduced vc again (the beginning of the end remember they tried this in 2k13 and that shit was garbage to) whis is a huge drop off compared to attribute points/skill points in 2k17 and 2k16 and is also by everyone in the community as the worst 2k of all time. 2k17s problem was just lag to be honest and 2k16 was goated 🐐.

@@fdub301 Two of my favorite NBA 2K games was 2K5 and 2K6 cause of the player movements and gameplay was more fun back then. I haven't played a NBA 2K game since 2K13. Even today I still have 2K6 and i'll play that before any other modern disaster 2K Games puts out.
I'm expecting Guns, Motorcycles, Sports cars, Air vehicles and futuristic Vehicles "cough cough" (Opresser mk3) in the next NBA2k game.

I miss 2K10. I remember MyPlayer didn’t have any cutscenes, bad mini games or pay to win BS. Just basketball mechanics which were decent for the time

NBA 2K is now at the same level as Madden, at least the devs at Madden are trying to improve the features of the game (it's been average at best, to be honest) than 2K. 2K has been lazy with the money that it makes thanks to virtual trading cards mode and that's why the gameplay hasn't been improved.

I stopped buying madden and 2k after 2020 then I decided to give 2k23 a chance because of MYeras. Due to the horrible shooting I got about 10hrs tops in the game. I am convinced 2k and madden are designed to make people stressed and sick. Part of me believes Take Two interactive is in bed with big pharma to get more gamers prescribed blood pressure medication. Soulsborne and Fighting Games are less stressful than those two shitty franchises. Gaming is great again for me after I have stopped playing 2k and madden. Salute to you deciding to save your money. Im glad i didnt pay for this game. It was added to my playstation extra membership. I always like being able to customize and create fictional teams, I find myself going through all of the trouble of making designs just for the 2K servers to take a dump and i can not upload any new things i change about the teams, it takes forever for my designs to show up after i upload those designs to the 2K upload website. Its just a massive pain in the ass. Also, im kinda new to 2K games, Now i know why they are hated so much not just because of actual gameplay.

2. People will actually STOP buying this shit - WE, the fucking community hold ALL the power and it's about time they understand that;
3. And preferably the ideal solution - ANOTHER DEVELOPER (not saying necessarily EA) will swoop in, see the 2K's downfall and huge market they could benefit of and make a better product.

The only thing I wish you added which is, I think, the most egregious part of the NBA 2K games is that they close down servers for each game 2 years after they come out, which is just baffling how it is not an illegal anti consumer practice. The fact that they lock you out of your career after having grinded and, for some people, having given money (never do that) is such a spit in everyone's face except shareholders. I'm sure they could easily make everything accessible offline too, but that would hurt the bottom line of the next iteration of their recycled franchise too much. Wake up sports game enjoyers.
