BATTLE AT BIG ROCK is an all-new short film directed by Colin Trevorrow, written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael.
The short takes place one year after the events of the last Jurassic World film in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. The story follows a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival.

Now that’s part of the horror of Jurassic Park that Michael Crichton’s original novel captured so perfectly.
This was actually pretty stressful to watch.

I really wish they went for a more horror theme in jurassic park 2 and followed it all threw here instead of making it some action packed adventure
Yes there are some scenes in all the movies that have horror tension in them

Typical dumb movie character behavior, if there's a massive animal about to eat you all outside and the kid (not even a baby) starts screaming you cover it's mouth, not stroke its head and sing songs to it. This was a real problem when women and children hid in days gone by.....
I love the parallels between both dinosaurs and humans. Parents fighting to protect their children, you love seeing it.

I like how they made a family for a short film more realistic than most of the characters in the movies.
I like how the little girl realistically drove off a dinosaur with a toy crossbow. Not to mention the fastest reload time ever recorded.

Allosauruses are so underrated! My favourite carnivore! It's aweome to see one take center stage in a big production like this. Would have liked to have seen more in them in the Jurassic Park/World franchise but that's okay.
Allo needs more credit than others,because I see a lot of others get there credit,plus it’s enemy the stegosaurus got a lot of credit,so now it’s Allos turn.
It’s funny because back then allosaurus was the star theropod.
Some of the best dino action/intensity I’ve seen since the original in ‘93. This short film was SO much better than Dominion. Not fair man.

After having seen Dominion, it's a sad thing to say that in all honesty, this one short film felt more engaging and entertaining than the actual film itself.

You know, why on earth didn't they do *a series of these short films?* *At least 3 would have been appropriate & very exciting* adding to the hype for the now released JW Dominion. I absolutely loved this film featuring our Allosaur, that we didn't get to see a lot of honestly. Dear Mr. Trevorrow, Jurassic fans would be all over this if you did a few more like this one. *I mean who can ever get enough of our magnificent, glorious Dinosaurs? Come on, it could be fun!*

Yes, This plays out like a disaster or zombie movie where people have not yet adapted to the new way of life. So its more dark and scary and confusing (for the characters).
Dominion however plays out more like a space epic where the creatures have always existed and societies have been built up around them. So there is not the same sense of danger. They even have a black market in the middle of a city that resembles Jabba the hutts palace or some other generic "bad guy club"
Totally agree on this mate. This is what Treverrow should have followed on from plus follow on from Fallen Kingdom instead of the abomination that was called Dominion

Shows something interesting too. That the Dinosaurs are adapting quickly to the environment, and that Humans, some at least are co-existing with the dinosaurs with the smaller ones being pest, and the larger ones being either left alone and able to be viewed at a distance to some being potentially or outright dangerous. The Carnivors seems to be having some issues if the Allo is any indication. Desperate enough to go after a little baby indicates it was probably starving.

I hope they do more short movies like this, of dinosaurs interacting with our world. This was extremely tense and made very good use of my favorite dinosaur. Allosaurus has never been more terrifying!

There was an appeal to this, to the point where I'm shocked that this wasn't the start of a short film series. The box office for Dominion proves that there is a craving for dino action, so maybe this is the way to go, young and old talent making shorts of dinosaurs in our world.
Today is the 4th anniversary of Battle at big rock, four years ago the short was shown on TV, the day before it was released on TH-cam in 2019.

I think all 8 (including the cut Prologue to Dominion) are all absolutely amazing in their own ways. Yeah some are obviously better than others, but the fact that almost every single one (except maybe this one, lol) introduces at least one new extinct species, and has some really good Dino CGI and a lot of cool scenes.
Ik im late, but imo this short film is better than all the sequels. My only problem with the short film is that its short. If it was a full movie, i think it would live up to the original, the only other jp movie without flaws. All the jp sequels have major flaws one way or another.
This is a great way to advertise your movie as opposed to trailers. Short films in the same universe FTW! The hype is real!
If Godzilla Vs Kong does that with the kaiju, I'll be super excited.

It’s brilliant! Especially the little snippets during the credits... seeing our interaction with dinosaurs. It makes me much more excited for the movie.

The end credits is EXACTLY the type of stuff I wanted to see when they announced the new trilogy and even long before. Dinos roaming the planet and people's reactions to them when they encounter them during their daily lives. I hope Dominion includes lots more "footage" scenes like that.

yeah but it grossed over 1 billion usd in box office i dont understand how and why. why are people paying for such low quality movies anymore. i think even this movie is totally over the edge, they would not let dinosaurs roam free they would hunt them down quickly, thats what made the old movies much better from botton up, the whole setting doesnt feel right anymore.
@@snappysilencer4574 I don't think you get that there were more than just dinosaurs in the prehistoric era. Humans now have had access to prehistoric genomes for four years so obviously they are going to manipulate this to their advantage (e.g. Biosyn using locust swarms to invade crops that weren't grown from Biosyn's seed). It's not that complicated. They want dominion over society and they want money. Also, yes, it's possible that humans would do their best to hunt and eliminate all living dinosaurs back to extinction, but genetic power has been unleashed, and people will not stop making dinosaurs. So the best the DFW can try to do is to contain and protect them.
