No it's not true, the trademark for stage name JB was with jype , he only got back this April. Second reason is that he want to spell it like JayB because JB is very common

He did a whole segment on his radio show where his JayB persona interviewed Def and it's hilarious. His mind just works different. And I didn't realize until recently that he couldn't use JB because JYP still had the copyright to his stage name so that's part of the reason he switched to JayB also not to be confused with Justin Bieber. But, he just got the right to use JB. His versatility really is insane. His musical preferences range and I've seen him reference music from Spirited Away OST, D'angelo, and Chaka Khan to Ty Dolla $ign like his musical taste is very diverse. Like who raised him?🤣 Also, do yourself a favor and check out Jeebanoff Callin' (feat. Def.). It's one of my fave Def features and of course, he wrote part of the lyrics and worked on the composition.

The insane thing is how he splits his persona like Def has a completely different label & everything. He releases Def music with Warner Korea & Jayb music with Higher Music. Even if he features in someone else’s song the name he goes by depends on the feeling of the song. Any song he personally writes goes by Def. though so even if it’s a Jayb or GOT7 song the writing credit is always Def.
You need to check out Def's "Stopline" and "Deeper" there are no videos but they are on TH-cam. I think she's an actress or model. He did say Def. is more personal works, JAY B is more out there on stage.

Thanks for the video, I love Sunset with you it's so chill, if you liked it you should also check JB's «Sunrise» it's part of the Got7's album «Present : You » but it's a solo track (each member had one on the album and all are great). JB is my bias too, he is so versatile and talented I like all his work ( in Got7, as Def, as JayB, in Jus2 and JJP). He recently released an OST for a drama called «Dive into you», it's really good, I like his song «Nostalgia» with Junny too it makes you really feel nostalgic. I think you may also like Jus2 (Yugyeom and JB unit), their music is so unique and different from the kpop vibe «Long black» is a masterpiece it's so smooth.

I feel bad saying this, but I loved Jay B Somo Fume, but it didn't feel as real as his Def Love album. I know they're just two separate sides of him, equally real, but Love was chef's kiss perfection, absolute gold standard, top tier.

Jaebeom did say that JayB's music is made by considering other people's reactions, especially the R&B community. Def's music is definitely a more selfish production in which he produces it only for himself (which I love). Love album is EVERYTHING -- it just has the vibes to it that I completely adore.
