    I’ve tried to find info online for this system but nothing explains it. Is this similar to AdBlue; being an additive to reduce diesel pollution and is it fitted to all C8s?

      I found this "The particulate filter regeneration fluid ensures that soot particles burn at a lower temperature, namely from 450°C. Even if the driving conditions are not optimal, this allows an effective regeneration of the particulate filter". I think it does the same thing as adblue but clearly in a different way as it lasts much longer.

      @@mr-jack Oh I see now, thank you so much for this info. I’m looking into a C8 for my family so this should be something I need to look out for.

    The Additiv is Eolys Powerflex 9736A1 for FAP/Partikelfilter after 2010
    For my Peugeot 807 built 2008 it is Infinium F7995. I got it in Italy for 128 €. In Germany I found a shop selling at 134,-.

    Hi Mr Jack, I have a 2005 Peugeot 807 2.2 hdi exec. I got this done several years ago ago when they did the timing belt change and it cost £99.00 then. I was only driving it for about a month when the warning light came on saying that it needed refilled so either they stung me and didn't fill it or else there is a fault. I've driven for years without dealing with it and not had a problem. Yesterday, in the heavy rains up here in East Lothian I went through a large puddle that I didn't see, due to no street lighting and it ripped the Eolys tank from one of its mounting so it was hanging down on one side and also took off the air scoop for the diesel cooler that sits in front of it. Whilst trying to re hang everything I felt that the tank still had liquid in it . Anyway, your vid was superb for us who don't like getting ripped off by making it look easy enough to fill ourselves. Did the garage take much to reset the counter.
    Cheers

      They just did it the next time it was in for a service.

    Please be VERY careful with the additive, don't spill it and under no circumstances touch it with the skin. It's toxic.

    How much did citron charge you to Reset o’clock

      They did it at the next service. No extra charge but they are quite expensive anyway

    Thanks a lot for your video! If you ever visit Norway I will buy you a beer;) I am waiting for my fluid and kit from Ebay, Gbp 120 incl postage, and a second hand unused reset tool from UK, Gbp 90. The sharks at Citroen wanted Gbp 580 to do the refill all included. Cheers!

    What is the capacity of the tank? How much fluid should I pour in?

    • @mr-jack
      @mr-jack  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is about the same size as the fluid you buy. Just pour in all the fluid with the overflow hose attached. A small amount comes out which is wasted.

    How many liters you added?

    • @mr-jack
      @mr-jack  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The warning comes when it is empty. I added the whole lot.

    So the liquid isn't Adblue then 😢, I have a Peugeot 807 2.2hdi 2005 and after 3months I've only just discovered the car has a dpf and additive system, it's clearly been deactivated as the tank is bone dry and I've no warning lights, anyone know how I can reactivate the dpf system as I've got an MOT coming up.

    • @mr-jack

      The tank doesn't have a level sensor so the ECU just keeps track of how much it thinks it's used and puts up a warning when it decides it will have run out. If you are not getting a warning then "probably" someone has just had the counter reset so the ECU "thought" the tank had been refilled. You might be alright with just filling it up. Probably best to get the dealer to reset it again when you fill it up otherwise it will start to report it as empty before time. It is worth bearing in mind that, without the additive soot will build-up so efficiency will be falling and emissions rising.

      Mr Jack I need to get under and have a proper look but I think it will have been deactivated, when I first start the engine, where the mileage is it comes up with a figure of 15000 and when I got the car it was a5 16500 so I presume that when that hits 0 it's going to give me the same warning as you have.
      I actually didn't think that the tank might just be empty because I presumed that once the tank was empty the car wouldn't start, I've not had any engine management warnings though.

    Hi im needing to do this but never done this before but would it be easier filling when the tank was off thanks.

    • @mr-jack
      @mr-jack  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try it but it is quite a flat tank so might be tricky to refit once it is full. Also the breather is used to release the spare fluid so it is filled to the very top.

    As far as health and safety concerns very high risk of doing DIY on car .You jacked the car on wheels ,very toxic products working without PPE.

    • @martinmuldoon603
      @martinmuldoon603 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is crazy asking for trouble, the very least requirement to jack a car up is axle stands. Please don't use blocks under wheels as the car can very easily fall down and crush you underneath it, a lot worse than a clogged exhaust.
