Please forgive me as it rambles on a bit. I will plan the next one a bit better.

Mini Cooper Convertible Rear Brake Pads Replacement
I wonder if you can help me I’m trying to replace the thermostat on a range master 60 classic. For the life of me I can’t see where the screws are to take the front plate off to take the thermostat out?
I am afraid I am not familiar with that model. You could try looking round the back or behind the knobs. It's a case of hunting but don't undo anything you are not sure about. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. Maybe someone else on here might know? I’ve asked Rangemaster but they won’t tell me!! It seems like it’s a secret 🙃
Thanks for the clear explanation! I've got this same problem, but the screws holding the burners seem to be stuck. Not surprising as these are stainless screwed into cast aluminum and over time will fuse by galvanic corrosion. The small phillips head screws make it even worse, they're so easy to mangle.
Very helpful,big thanks Mr Jack
I had the imprudence to install dd-wrt on my ea8300. It has a serious problem with wifi. Now I can neither return the original firmware nor install OpenWRT. I tried with a tftp cable, but it says that there are missing components and cannot complete the installation. dd-wrt support does not answer me after three letters... PLEASE HELP!

Thanks for the video, easy and clear explanation saved me getting an engineer
Top video, nice and simple and with no stupid back ground music.
Thanks, glad it helped you.
How is your setup going? I have an EA8300 with a symmetric 1Gbps line and I hit 900+ wired to the access point, but my wifi speed on 5Ghz is capped at 300Mbps. I’ve tried a ton of stuff including going back to v 19 of OpenWRT with no luck. :(
ummm, i not so sure cutting any of those timbers is ok..... but its probably a bit late for that now! they were installed for a reason as part of the design of your roof and transfer from steel to that roof....
If you wantch the second video you will see that I add significant bracing to the hole to cater for removing the stud.
How mych does it cost
The disc is bad. Need to change.
Brilliant video thanks mate

Should have removed the cap off master cylinder before pushing the brake cylinder back first 🤨 you put new pads on a damaged disc.. doesn't make sense..discs are not expensive for these cars
Great video and just what I’m looking for as my top fat left burner has the same issue. What length wire do you think I will need?
The best thing to do is take the hob off and measure it with a piece of string
I ordered 3 thermocouple and got the 600mm ones, I just coiled up the excess. Working fine
Sounds like a plan 👍🏼

Glad you think so!
Thanks for the video, we've got 3 of our gas rings with problems, plus 2 not igniting. The boss was thinking we'd need a new cooker, now I feel confident I can at least sort the thermocouples, just the igniters to sober 👍👍big thumbs up
Thank you for touching base on the need/supply of the felt collar.
Glad to give the full picture :)
Thanks for the video Jack, got 3 of these to fit so nice to see a full length video , even if you struggled at times 😉

@@mr-jack thank you for replying. was it the Rangemaster Thermocouple / Fsd Probe : 600mm

Hi, It is the same process if I want to install openwrt on linksys EA7500 V2?
I am afraid I am not familiar with the EA7500. I recommended you have a look on the relevant pages on the Open wrt website. Good luck.
Handy enough thanks m8.. saved me getting a gas engineer out charge me an arm n a leg..
Thanks for the feedback. Really glad it helped.
Hi, thinking of buying one of these routers to replace an old bt home hub 5 with open wrt as its acting up! How is the wifi on the router? Is it a solid connection without having to do frequent reboots? Thanks.
I have 4 of them and have not actively rebooted any. We have had a couple of power outages but thats over the past year. So very reliable.
@mr-jack great looks like a purchase is in order!, thanks for the quick response!
thanks
How to fix this mr jack. it's spamming in my kernel log qca8k-ipq4019 c000000.switch wan: Link is Down [15130.250406] qca8k-ipq4019 c000000.switch wan: Link is Up - 100Mbps/Full - flow control rx/tx Is this ok to opkg?i searched this on google opkg remove ath10k-firmware-qca4019-ct opkg remove kmod-ath10k-ct opkg install ath10k-firmware-qca4019 opkg install kmod-ath10k-smallbuffers Edit: tried this opkg. Qualcomm Atheros QCA9886 802.11ac/n stops working. But the kernel log still has the issue
Good pm mr jack. I have followed your installation on ea8300. I have a question. Can i remove the -ct on customize package?im seeing some ath10k_ahb a000000.wifi: mac flush on kernel logs. I have seen it in a forum that it fixes with non ct drivers.
Thanks for the video. After watching I just ordered the Linksys EA8300 off of Ebay. Was using a ASUS DSL-N66U for the USB tethering option but that thing is slowly dying. Good to know that the latest version of OpenWrt will install on this.
Snap. I had exactly the same :)
@@mr-jack I am liking the Linksys EA8300 but you must setup irqbalance and turn on Software flow offloadin & Packet steering. Otherwise it will only use one core.
Hiya I'm experiencing the same problem but because its not connected to electric yet could that be the reason. Please let me know Thank you
If it's not connected to the electricity yet then the ignitor wouldn't be working.
Thank you for your reply at the moment I'm lighting it with cigarette lighter but the problem is when I release the knob flame goes off.
@@shaguftabegum7933 I just did a test and switched mine off. Then tried to light it with a lighter. The ring lit and stayed alight after I released the knob. I have to admit I didn't expect it to stay on. So your problem could be the thermocouple.
Hello me jack.do you have a video on fixing openwrt deauth?
I did this on the EA8500 It's just brilliant, right? 🎉
Glad to hear
@@mr-jack also on the ea9500 although then its better as a wired router and not wireless 😂
Good pm mr jack.do you have a tutorial on how to put the switch option on openwrt?this version OpenWrt 23.05.0-rc2 it doesn't show on network options
The SWITCH option is removed from the menu as part of the DSA upgrade to OpenWrt. You need to Follow this video(th-cam.com/video/47e8bDtTGFo/w-d-xo.html) to make a software switch
Good instruction video and very informative. At the moment I have no problems. I have a Sportstech treadmill now for a day and was very surprised to see that when putting the deck up it was a MDF plate. In my naivity I just assumed this would be metall. With my research I was just curious about the durability of a melamine coating. Any idea about that?
I am afraid I have no stats but would have thought melamine would have good wear characteristics. It is smooth and hard. If you check out other videos, some people have used thin sheets of aluminium.
can i install openwrt in my linksys ea8300-hk? because mine have HK, so is it ok?
I am sorry but I don't know. Lets hope @RevanceZeno reply's.
It's ok to install.but make sure you don't forget to install the advance reboot and change the kernel size.dont skip the tutorial
Greetings, I installed the firmware on a very similar model, with the intention of taking advantage of the USB ports, but I haven't achieved anything, not even a hard drive that I had lying around the house works, is this fixable? The model in question is the MR 8300
Hi. I was able to get a USB stick working. I didn't try a hard disk. Have you tried using a powered USB-SATA Hub as the router has very little power to give to USB devices. On a slightly different note did you install the MR8300 firmware on your device? The reason I ask is that on my first attempt I actually installed the MR8300 firmware on my EA8300 and it seemed to work ok but the USB and LED lights didn't work. So if you have installed the EA8300 software on your MR8300 that might be why.
The USB flash drives work but the hard drives don't.@@mr-jack
@@jbgrenouille2527 So it looks like it might be a power problem then if the interface is active. Have you tried a powered USB-SATA hub? I have used these in the past, they work well and are quite cheap, www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JGT17B8/ref=emc_b_5_t
Had a roofer fit some of these a few years ago on my self build and i have just had my first leak, not enough for a drip but discoloured the plaster at top after a cloud burst. Checked it out by standing on a scaffold tower on the inside. There was a lot of leaf debri in the top and side channels that may caused the top to overflow. Looks like cleaning the leaf debri out will be a anuual event. Great video, only one online with any detail about keylite windows.
Thanks for the feedback. Can you put a leaf catcher higher up the roof to try to keep them out of channels. Having said that, regular inspection is probably a good thing as it helps catch things before they become a serious problem.
Hello! I thought I was following along, but now when I get to the advanced reboot page there is no linksys option anymore... Is there a way to get it back? The OpenWrt 22.03.2 (Linux 5.10.146) firmware on partition 2 works just fine, but the other wont boot. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi James, go to the OpenWRT page for the EA8300 (openwrt.org/toh/linksys/ea8300) There is a link to download the original firmware from Linksys which you can then re-flash. Be warned you are on your own with this as I have not tried it.
Don't worry, I put a wrong program on this router and unfortunately it doesn't come up anymore. I put in an IP address. It doesn't recognize the router. I think it's Enbridged. Please guide me. Thank you.
never seen scissers in a nail bag, hairdresser
You got me!😊 I once saw a guy at Hobby Craft with scissors in his belt. Always feel slightly self-conscious with them but needs must.......
can you virtualize them with a newer faster physical server and save some power
I could virtualise some of the pi's onto a proxmox server, that nay come in a later video 😉. I would want to keep the pfsense firewall as a deducted physical device for security purposes and the backup server is located in a physically segregated building to protect against fire.
Plastic wrap or grease the threads before the concrete application.
Good idea
I’ve tried to find info online for this system but nothing explains it. Is this similar to AdBlue; being an additive to reduce diesel pollution and is it fitted to all C8s?
I found this "The particulate filter regeneration fluid ensures that soot particles burn at a lower temperature, namely from 450°C. Even if the driving conditions are not optimal, this allows an effective regeneration of the particulate filter". I think it does the same thing as adblue but clearly in a different way as it lasts much longer.
@@mr-jack Oh I see now, thank you so much for this info. I’m looking into a C8 for my family so this should be something I need to look out for.
Thanks a lot for sharing this. Helped me a lot as an OpenWRT newbie to get everything set up on my new MR8300.
Glad it helped!
Is this a global version?can you install openwrt in ea8300-hk?
I am afraid I don't know, I didn't see any nationalisation information. However, I would think that you would be ok to try as you can always revert to the original image, on the alternate partition.
@@mr-jackis it ok not to change the kernel and just stick to 5.10?or is it required to change it to 5.15 version
@@mr-jackanother question.how did you change the default gateway?i just saw on a old post that if you change the gateway from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.3.1you can't access the device anymore.is this true?
Hi, if you want to use the new DSA configuration feature then you have to upgrade the kernel. If you are happy with the old way of configuring it then 5.10 is fine. Up to you, I decided I wanted to try the new way.
You can absolutely still access it if you change the gateway address. I change the network address and even the port in this video th-cam.com/video/47e8bDtTGFo/w-d-xo.html. the key thing is to get your computer to recognise that the router address has changed. Sometimes you can do it by simply unplugging and re-plugging the ethernet cable or on windows issue "ipconfig /renew" at the command prompt to get your computer to request a new IP address from the router
1:58 Ubuntu is a great choice. I've found that Debian (Pi OS lite) is the sweet spot for server builds.
As a rule, I do try to use Raspbian as it is tailored for the Pi but in this case it just wasn't possible.
