I have to say that I'm very happy to see the Troopers that are speaking up. It's so sad that other Troopers are still dropping the ball. But the ones who are enforcing the rules derserve much respect and should be rewarded.

It reminded me of my father too. He was always proud of his service and I loved it when he was given a nod or handshake from active duty military! He lived to a few months shy of 90.

I've been watching this channel for a while now. I love the no touching rule and the attempts (sort of) to police the box. One thing that is absolutely sure is that the horses are a lot more relaxed and calm. I don't think I've seen a real melt down since the new rules were put in place.

John, we often see many of the following visitor types:
1. Entitled
2. Sneakingly determined
3. Annoyingly befuddled
**The white line is there for
them to step over and take
their pictures and ignore the
"No touch" signs.
1 2 I'd say fall in line with the Chinese who never cease to amaze me with thier self entitlement, rudeness by pushing people out of the way so they can take all their phottos, even pushing other people's children into the path of the horses hooves. so they get their own way. Those who wait until officer's back is turned and make a race to the horse for another photo during change over. The screeching and hollering they do grates on my nerves. one was told to shut up by one of the MOD officers, while our nice lady officer told 3 witches to get behind the bollards they kept on going towards the horse when she was distracted by other unruly tourists. The Jew's are also rude and obnoxious. Standing there staring at the guards and cursing at them in their own language. If they did less breeding and taught their btats how to respect those who are here protecting us they will go far, but they, like the Chinese think it does'nt apply to them. About time they were all banned for life and from visiting the UK. Soon teach the rest back home that we WON'T put up with their crap anymore. One sytike and they go minus £20,000 on the spot fine for being ignorant, self entitled narcissistic half wits?
Very lovely to see the horses and guards being treated with, at least, a modicum of respect. Love the additions to help control people who evidently are unable to control themselves. As always, your commentary was delightful.
Hi John, I’m not sure if your members or followers know that one of the telephone boxes in Whitehall served as the visitor's entrance for the British Ministry of Magic Headquarters. It was accessed by dialling a certain number, allowing a connection to be made to state their business, receive a badge, and then transport down into the Ministry which was how Mr Weasley and Harry got to the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 🪄🧙

The chestnut Police horse is a real beauty , I've also seen on a couple of other videos another Police horse , a palomino , golden colour with white mane and tail , sadly you've never captured him yet ! Met police really do have some magnificent horses 😀

yesterday on 10/8 one of the troopers Royal Blues he told everyone even people walking thru the box to stay out of the box,no one allowed inside , it was refreshing, thanks John for the great video 😃
Hats off to the Life Guard they are proper on it today. The dinging isn't that bad, everyone has technical difficulties from time to time and as a rule, you see to have very few John.

29:45 - This guard looks regal and sits tall! He takes pride in his job and protects his horse! He's going to be a favorite for many people! The first guard on the left also did an excellent job! Kudos to both of these guards and their ability to follow through! / 30:35 - There was a man with a stroller that almost went through the horse's box! 🤦♀ / I am so thankful that touching the horses is no longer allowed! The tourists ruined it for themselves. The horses are so much less stressed!

Hi John that gatesmen is awesome I remember seeing him on the Elizabeth World Cup preparation where he was getting reaper ready,he’s been a box men before lots of times especially the beginning of the year,he’s very firm an amazing at both gates and box.
What a lovely viewing today. Those troopers bar one were on the ball. The one you were looking for a nickname could be The Banisher. Even if the powers that be did have cameras and filmed the rolls of the guards. You would still have an audience because of your commentary and wit.

The Life Guards have been so on it for the last couple of times they were on duty but the Blues and Royals only on it this last round.

Hi You mentioned "Royal Land in the video. I was wondering if the new white lines could indicate a claim by the crown on those sections of the street. Extending the authority of the guards into those areas vs it being municipal (sorry I forgot who you said has jurisdiction of the street in front of horse guards).
The pavement is under Westminster Council not MOD ( Ministry of Defence ) inside the gates is MOD property . Negotiations will have happened between London District MOD and Westminster Council regarding painting the lines . As it remains a public pavement people can still walk across as long as they don't stop to take photos of approach the horses .

another good day John, with only a couple of oops from the guard on the other side but then he started to tell people out of the box ( happened after the soldier was outside) Yesterday the blues and Royals seemed far better in actually finally telling people to get out of the box and don't touch, with the exception of two of them who continually refuse to say anything when people got in the box and touched the horse.. maybe one day they will get it. There was a young blues and royals trooper who would never speak up but yesterday he had a voice which was great to see. Unfortunealy he was being ignored by some tourists who refused to do as he said. I felt terrible for him the disrespect they showed him. There will always be those that feel entitled to ignore the guards and rules. All in all it is getting much better and I am noticing that there are less videos posted by others where as before there were so many channels posting on the horse guards. good. get the riffraff outta here bothering the guards. keep up the good work guards and hopefully one day you can preform your duties in silence once again and not have to get frustrated with annoying tourists.
You came up with a perfect solution to those who step into the box and touch the horse. It is a shame that the tourists don't enforce the rules they see on the wall in the signs themselves. The troopers are now doing their job (the Life Guard) and the Blues and Royals are being challenged to enforce the new rules as well.
How about calling him SUPER TROOPER!
One of the reasons why young people, lets say those under about 30 years old, look much younger these days is that more people in that age group were brought up in non smoking and less drinking environments.
My own children and their peers whose parents were smoker's and drinkers looked a litt older from their early teens and this has continued into their 30s and 40s.
