Breathtaking Beautiful and Mindblowing Pioneering, Jeff! You showed things no any other bloggers ever done. They all parot each other. I got your hint starting the video at the market every single blogger shows, as saying "but I'll show you something so different". The lady guide is so knowledgeable, not only beautiful. Madeiran castles easily compete with the French chateaux, never expected anything of this scale. What a discovery, Madeira is a true enigma. How such a tiny island can contain myriads of treasures: unique culture, nature, people, dozens microclimates. Can't wait to see more. Also interviews with the elderly, their amazing stories about authentic life before "globalisation", dehumanization and loss of character everywhere.
You can look up Free Walking Tours Funchal, she’s the one and only, the original. If you have trouble, just email us and I’ll make sure to get you in contact
Brilliant content, would love to hear more from Lisa and Madeira's history in general. One other suggestion I'd have for you would be to bring an expert on the wildlife of Madeira and really dive deep into that topic as well. Hope to see a lot more, good quality productiion all in all! I like that you add little bits of Portuguese language as well.
Thank you 🙏 Yeah we’re always trying to up our game and to bring more and more value to the channel. Great idea on the wildlife, let me see what I can do ;)) Cheers! 🤠
Thanks, Jeff, for your awesome videos. I'm from Australia and have been watching your videos prior to our 2 week trip to Madeira. We did a walking tour with Lisa a couple of days ago and thoughly enjoyed it. Thanks, Lisa, and thanks, Jeff, keep up the good work. We will be out and about over the next 10 days trying to work out which activity to do next. There are so many options.😊
Hey Craig! Sorry for the late reply buddy, it’s been mental here and my TH-cam comments got out of control 😂 so happy you had a great time !! We’ll see you next time I’m sure ;)) Have a great weekend !!
Thanks Jeff & André ☺ I can't believe the amount of people who didn't see the humour in your video title & had to complain about it, yet you're giving them beautifully produced free content of the Pearl for them to enjoy, although there may be pirates in Zona Velha's Mercado dos Lavradores! 🤣 I saw the promenade under construction when I walked from Lido to Câmara de Lobos, so thanks for showing it in its completed form. My second Madeira vlog should be up on Sunday at 21h00 by the way as a live premiere. Have a truly beautiful week & weekend my friend 🤗
Hi! I'm about to move to Madera. Can I send my van to Madeira by ship in February? I'm having a hard time trying to find a company to send it. Thank you and congratulations for the excellent channel.
Thanx buddy. You can send it yes, it’s not something I deal with but I’m sure you can find a good company online? I’ve never done it myself so wouldn’t know who to recommend. Sorry bud, all the best!
@@Hittheroadmadeira I've found one company, it would cost about 1200 Euro. Now I need to make sure it is alowed to live in a van there before send it haha.. thank you so much for the answer. Wish you all the best.
I've seen fruit map of Madeira: papaya only grows in Calheta, grapes in Santana, mangoes in Santa Cruz area. How true is that? Obviously, there are microclimates, and higher in the mountains colder climates plants&trees like apple trees. But why, can't, e.g. papaya grow in Santana or Machico or Ponta do Sol? Are microclimates that drastically different? And how does it feel for you to be on a small island after South Africa? Though internet, TH-cam has brought whole world to you:)
Ahah Isabel lots of questions there 😂 You can grow things almost everywhere…. If I compare Santana to Santa Cruz, Santana is colder, rainier. Santa Cruz is warmer, sunnier, windier as well. Some things grow better in some places … but I think you CAN grow papayas in Santana?? 🤠
That funny mercado thing:) as many noted...What I love about Aries is Honesty and Pioneering Spirit. Yes, Jeff doesn't avoids critisizing, but is too Honest not to give a hint. Also, a good intrigue, drama propels a TH-cam channel:)) Love the way Jeff is so Unique. Very generous as well, giving space to others in his videos, like the beautiful intelligent lady the tour guide. That would attract classier guests to Madeira...
Like many here, I'm too from a mother from San Antonio, Madeira.. but British. I've spent many happy summer holidays as a child and adult in Madeira and still visit twice/three times a year. My last trip was in April and looking forward to my next I October. I see something new each visit Now 55 one looks to retire to the most beautiful island in the Atlantic.
Definitely do more history videos as someone who was born in England but has parents from madeira I'm always looking at ways to find out more about the island (PS clickbait not cool man 😂😂)
Madeira is classy and aethtetically pleasing. Are those designers, artists, architects local? What is their alma mater? The Arts Academy is impressive, disproportionately huge and grand for a small island. Feels like rich cultural life there
@@Hittheroadmadeira Yes! And more stories about the locals, how they live, what cook, traditions, folk medicine, plants they grow: everything! So few videos about the native stuff, you are definitely the 1st! All others parrot each other. The architecture you showed is mindblowing! Madeira can easily beat up French chateaux:) Never seen those ones in any other vids
@@Hittheroadmadeira I've been wondering how your ancestors moved from that elevated location down to the sea or other areas without cars? Also, is sparkling wine produced in Madeira? Red? White? Or only fortified?
i've forgotten the name of the local booze-supplier close to the shore and always pretty hard to understand due to the influence of his own product - but it shure wasn't Blandys, believe me - it will be hard to find more costly alcohol than there.. B ) don't stress yourself as a tourist on Madeira just enjoy the vibe, the nature and chill out B ))

Enjoyed the vid, barring the clickbait. Would be great if you did one actually showing some of the tourist traps on the island though; a certain market would most likely make that list!
Jeff, what is "conservatorio da principe alberto" in Faial? It does not seem to be a musical conservatory. But no information on it at all. The Arts School is grand in Madeira. Is it in a former hotel? Looks stunning. But again, so little information or videos...as most bloggers film stupid stuff, like not so bright "Michael&Lauza" staring in the camera and showing off each other derriers:( why make videos if they have nothing ingenious to say
You're the big pirates here! 🤣. You got me! 😅. You really try to avoid negative subjects at all costs. It wasn't to expect for a tour guide to sell down his product😂, your product being Madeira. I see, I see what you're doing with clickbaiting people to your videos.😂😂. No but it's good be informed as well. It's not good to make your customers look dumb. Not everything is pure in Madeira. Lot's of people want to make money out of you. With so many competition, i'm sure it's hard to stay relevant. I'm not saying there is people on the streets to grab you. It's not like that either 😂. Madeira is very turistic focused. I'm not too much of fan of economies relying too much on tourism. The issue is the local people, usually never get to prosper from it. It's crazy to see how many hotels per square meter there are in Funchal. The pandemic in Madeira must have been, real real bad. I know personally because the company i work is speciallized in working for hotel industry, we sold almost nothing in 2020. Now about the video 😅. There are some cool things you can do with this kind of content. I watch a ton of documentaries myself. You can make a good progress exploring that route. I'm sure you know the people to interview. I have watched one last week about Levadas history in Madeira. Very well done documentary, very professional, very pretty images, they knew how exploit the cool spots. It's a bit long, not super long, like I sometimes watch 2h videos. 😅 For history subject, if you keep doing short videos, I think you should focus on doing specials, and then do something more broad, like that ones you did about South African heritege in Madeira, and then you did even more focused on South African people living and working in Madeira. That's cool.
