Thank you for a great video!! The actual plant list suggestion list is very helpful- especially for beginners. Luckily, through trial & error I’ve created a garden that actually happens to naturally incorporate most of these plants.

Please be cautious about some plants that, once established, can be nearly impossible to remove. This includes wisteria, mint, English ivy, agapanthus... This is just a catalogue of things I've experienced first-hand. I'm sure there are others.
Lovely video. I'm planning my garden in California along these lines. Love the idea of an avalanche of flowers, leaving no room for weeds. Thank you so much.

Also foxgloves are toxic to pets so make sure they are not accessible to your pets or children.

If you plant these in huge containers they will be easy to control. If it climbs over and will root, such as ivy, trim it back. That’s what I do and so far mine haven’t taken over however wisteria grows wild and uncontrollable 😢… our property had some, well a lot on one side of our yard when we bought our home and has completely taken over. But it is contained to that side. I gave up and it’s taken over an old swing set. The children didn’t use it much and use the porch swing. But I do need most of it cut out. We can never dig it all up.

Perennials that grow from seeds, we could use a list.

We do not have a video on that particular topic but some of our favorite perennials to grow from seed would be coneflower, delphinium, foxglove, blazing star, lupine, hollyhock, yarrow and milkweed.
