Byron’s words towards the end of the field trip are what hopefully will resonate with the world. Heartfelt these words are what it is all about for me and the world of plants. Plants are what make this Earth livable for humans and animals. How could we forget about this? Thank you for all you are doing Summer and Byron. Marion.
i loved what byron said about now connecting to nature is connecting to ourselves, and how you have reverence for nature when you recognize it. reverence is my go-to word to describe it when i’m overtaken by the beauty of nature, so it was nice to hear someone else describe that in a way i’ve felt before
Fun! I felt like I was there too. It's always a blast when you can be with likeminded plant lovers and share our obsession openly and no one thinks your weird :) I hope to get a lemon tree and now after these Logee videos I really hope the one I find is from them which would make it so much more personal because of the history behind it. Great video Summer. Thanks for sharing.
I'd been in Iowa for a year and I admired trees and vegetation changed their color in fall season. That was best beautiful moment in my live. In other side you guys are really appreciative to tropical plants that I have a lot growing wild here in Indonesia. Now I've been in to plants too since polar vortex hit iowa last year and no plants look beautiful in heck winter. 😌 But still I love the US. ❤️❤️
So awesome. Pause the video on yr intro speech after they got off the bus and I'm almost in tears because you r making it feel like all of us are with you in person right now! Viewing it on our big screen TV also helps 2 make u half my size so I feel the excitement oozing from yr pores! 😘🙋 Wish I was there with you. 🤗💖
haha. It get's over a million views per month, but I just don't think most people make an effort to subscribe. I wish they would! It really helps the channel.
Hi Summer! Oh my, this was such a fun tour! I've always read good things about Logee's in unboxings and comments on TH-cam. It was nice to "meet" Byron. I am signed up for their emails and enjoy browsing through the multitude of plants they offer for sale. I haven't purchased from them yet, but will see what happens after it warms up some more. I really did enjoy seeing the different greenhouses an plants they grow. That lemon tree was something else! Thank you so much for taking us along with you!
This was so great to see... I didn’t even know this was happening. Pretty awesome Logee’s opened up for this event! & wow! What a plant to win! 👍🏻 congrats to whomever won that beauty! Loved seeing Logees greenhouses. I know it’s winter but I don’t see too much on their website that is in stock this last year... bummer. Maybe Im just not lucky and look on their website when they are all sold out of everything. I agree with them having more Hoyas to choose from on their site. That would be great! 👍🏻
I've been a Logee's customer for over thirty years when I lived in Florida and now in Hawaii (awaiting an order from them as I comment here). They are one of the few places that will ship to Hawaii and for that I am eternally grateful. All of the plants they ship and sell thrive and do very well (unless I have killed them by negligence). I was super happy to see this video, it was treat! Thank you so much for filming Logees and behind the scenes!!
@@summerrayneoakes If you're ever on Oahu and need a backyard tour of my garden drop me a line, I have a very large Tacca Chantrieri bat plant, fruiting Vanilla Planifolia (which we hand pollinate and I process the beans in the dashboard of my car), a modest selections of tillandsias, orchids (including vandas, vandopsis, phals, phaius tankervillae, etc), all kinds of palm trees (and seedlings I have as volunteer plants), volunteer donkey tails and rhipsalis growing out of rocks, etc! And after subscribing to your videos, my goal is to fill the inside of the home as well!! Oh yes, and a bunch of Nepenthes species hanging off our triangle palm as well (found slugs, large roaches, bugs in them)!
What a great tour . . . and under the bench is my favorite. There are two greenhouses that I visit that have so many things growing under the bench and rooted in the dirt. They are super nice and just give me whatever I ask for. The older, family-run greenhouses are true gems.
Even more excited for my Logee’s order to come once it is warm enough to ship. Love seeing behind the scenes. And totally know what circus peanuts are. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
I just love your field trips. It's like I'm taking part myself. I'm so glad I got into plants and it's never too late. Thanks so much for the joy you bring
Things can be so different every one has a point of view... thanks for your videos so full of passion they made us think and valorize what we have here. The crowd on this video would go wild where I live. São Paulo is probably one of the most underrated towns in the world. So cosmopolitan with its more than 12 million inhabitants and yet so full of green. I wish I could send you some videos of my street plants! So easy and naturally growing... I can imagine you walking around naming everything banana's trees, pomegranate blackberries, bouganvilles more than 100 orchids on my block only. People get them as gifts and after the blooming just go and pin them on stret trees and there they go in a way of speaking growing under de bench just the way you like. Thank you again
Circus peanuts YUM ...so good! 😋 I love the herb house, I never heard of bubblegum , orange or grapefruit herbs, what a wonderful smell they must have! This was fun, thanks for taking us inside all the greenhouses and for the "UNDER THE BENCH TOUR " that was cool! 👍🏼
Thank you Summer Rayne Oakes for inspiring me always. One of this days I would also like to visit Singapore to see all those plants you have shown on your other vlogs and I will start with my own vlogs also. Please reply with your inspiring words. God Bless!
I know circus peanuts!!! They were a favorite treat of my dad's. He died in 2009, and I will often buy a few bags on his birthday and share them with my mom and my sister. They definitely have a distinctive smell, taste, and texture 😉 Summer, I was in your class at CU 🤗 I love your videos, and your laugh. You have ignited a new love for plants in me, which I am excited about. There is endless info and amazing trips, etc. to learn from.
Great video! And coincidentally I just got my first Logee's plant yesterday, it's interesting to see where it came from, it was probably propagating there when the video was shot!!!
Summer Rayne, this would be my perfect day!! Meeting you and Byron, touring Logees and surrounding myself with planty people! I'd gladly hop on a bus from BC Canada to join!
So interesting tour, I wish I could be there, too. Gorgeous plants but I ador that spectacular anthurium, I haven't seen it before. great video Summer, thanks for sharing.
Another AWESOME Field trip!! Thank you so much. I just signed up for Logee's Newsletter, Catalog and I have two plants in my cart with them, a Begonia and a Catt Orchid. :)
I love Logee's! They have quality plants, friendly staff and lots of interesting varieties. Purchased scented geraniums, chinese perfume plant and clivia miniata from them. It's a real gem!
On of my favorite videos, I love logees that much more now! Thank you for putting a connection to a “website greenhouse” for us. It feels so much more surreal placing an order knowing how much love and thought went into it❤️
I enjoyed watching this video from start to finished 😍 I would love to go on trips like this and what an awesome bonus that after the tour you can buy rare or uncommon plants that's hard to get in the market 😍💚🌿
Great field trip!! I am so glad you included us in the field trip. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. When Byron cut the Musa and started piling the stalks, all I could think of was 'Oh my Lord how many pasteles I could do with all those leaves' I hope he would donate them to the community for cooking. Anyway, I learned a lot and I am very thankful to you and Byron for sharing his knowledge & passion of plants. His vision of man and nature as one has stayed in my mind. 🍃💚🍀👍
at 43:50 - the plant is Micromeria fruticosa - can last a middle Eastern summer without irrigation. Normally grows between rocks and in cracks in lime stone rocks. Good in tea.
Where I live bougainvilea really love the weather here... I can barely see the leaves most of the year... it turn full of flowers... wather white orange or red... it so beautiful
Ugh I’m so jealous as soon as I was going to buy tickets it was already sold out 😭 the musa cutting I remember witnessing it when I was younger to help the tree have sweeter fruits in some farms. 💖 congrats to the winner!!! 🌿🍃🌱
OMG! OMG! Where was I in all this? Lol, Luv this. Luv Logees. I think I would just faint if I had won something there, but a variegated monstera lucky lady! Thank you for the green house tours. Luv what you do in your videos, keep it coming!
What an amazing fieldtrip! I love basically everything about it. Hard to point anything out. But i was quite moved by the comment of Byron about our connection with nature and the way we severed it. This is especially significant now because so many ecosystems are declining. :( ... On a side note, out of all the plants i think i just remained on that Euphorbia Milii. I think i wanna try growing her. Few months ago i saw a small one, 10cm tall, in a local home depo. For some reason i didnt buy it. I guess i wasnt feeling it back then. Thank you again for organizing this and sharing it with us here
A new subscriber to your channel, and love all your tours. A brilliant idea to charter a bus to Logee. Thank you for the tour of this great place and their beautiful plants/succulents in each of the green houses. 🤗🤗
Fun!! This is my favorite tour so far! It felt very loose, organic, and personable? like I was doing the exploring myself. Maybe because you were getting to explore on your own v. being toured. The greenhouses seem very "homey", too. Loved seeing fellow followers join in and Byron's words about us always being in boxes. He's cool! The last shot of you walking off with a box of new plants was perfect!
Byron is so delightful. And yes, this was far more off-the-cuff. Sander had a difficult time filming because everyone branched off into different directions. But it worked out OK!
That was so much fun! Thank you!!! I saw several plants that are on my wish list. I want to wait to order until the weather is a bit warmer but, man oh man, I know where to find them and I will be shopping, soon! I hope they can ship to Texas!!!
such a great video Summer. I made a list of wish list of plants I'll be ordering from them. I also cried for the winner of the monstera! She's very lucky!
I missed out on this and was so sad because NYC has this silly policy of having first responders on duty.😔 I'm so glad you made this video so I could see what I missed and the areas they don't let me go in too!

I fell in love with the Anthurium wendlingeri at Selby Botanical Gardens!! You need to visit Selby, Summer. You would love it. It's got an amazing collection of epiphytes! And I'd totally go to any event you host there :)
I missed out on this. I do not live far and I would have ran up there had I know you were there. I hope you plan another trip to Logee's again soon. Great video!

Omg I recall years ago putting a recommendation through on your website to visit logees! I didn’t realize you eventually did!!! This is so awesome!!!! This place is a dream world that in my honest opinion rivals many botanical gardens!
Watching Summer brings calm and peace to me. I enjoyed rewatching all field trips when i was down with a flu♥️🌿

The trees in autumn are always so pretty.
This looks fun XD
Tacca chanteri is very shade tolerant XD
Such a neat garden.

And saw all the beautiful orchids and begonias.. loads of begonia amphioxus.
This looks like HEAVEN 😍
This was such a pleasure to see.
What a fabulous day!!
I LOVE circus peanuts!!!

Great Show! Great idea for a field trip too! Thanks a lot! Keep it up!

Years ago my sister and I took our Mom on a senior trip to huge greenhouses in Canada (we live in Michigan). So fun!
What a treat this was!
Yasss these videos give me life ❤ so much fun to watch and tag along these adventures!
edit: variegated syngonium! Beautiful!!
I'm actually a bus driver so the bus was a neat touch.
All the plants were even better.
Honestly, that bus was luxe! I was surprised!
