I like Sarah's jokes. And not because she's a hottie, but because she's a sweetheart and very likeable. I remember when I first started watching her channel a couple of years ago and Sarah would receive tools and other gifts that she needed in the mail. She started filming what she got from people in the mail. And whenever she got something that touched her heart, she would get teary-eyed because she appreciated the gesture. And I, and many others, have been her fan ever since. :)
If you put the distributor housing in the oven and the bearing in the freezer the bearing will almost drop in without a press. Works great on the bearings inside a dirtbike crankcase. Love your channel Sarah! Especially youe humor! Has to edit...lol. Dry ice works best...much colder....
Copper work hardens so over time that bent section (got harden from bending) then gets harder and harder just from the vibration of the car running . If there is more movement/wiggle the work hardening happens quicker. Crack ends could be drilled out and can be filled in with solder to fix it. You can anneal the copper a little too, at 800*F, do this before soldering. Don't go more then 800* or it will anneal even more and get too soft. I use a propane torch that is also compatible with MAPP (don't need to use MAPP), which are higher heat output torches with swirling flame.
I must say your videos are never boring. Love your jokes. They make me smile. You're such a hard worker. I especially love your pretty yellow nails. Keep up the good work.
I'm rebuilding 2011 Volvo C30 (6 speed) with a light front hit for my daughter's high school graduation. The PCV system gums up and then it blows oil all over the place. Pulled it, washed in hot soapy water and new diaphragm. The painted the housing with light silver caliper paint. I used my little home steam cleaner on top of Mcguiars Degreaser, slow but great results. The heat helps to break the tough stuff loose.
I think your jokes are great. My Grandma passed the other week, been dealing with all that and decided to take a break from it all. And watching this, its the first time Ive laughed in a while so thanks for always putting out such great entertainment.
I love my McCulloch!!!! Your OCD will become stronger with that thing around!!! Don't be afraid to spray a little APC, let soak in, then steam, and wipe.
Old sayings… our parents used 🤷♂️. Willy nilly came from the obsolete, will I, nill I. I am willing, I am unwilling. Who knew? Had to look it up. 😂 In the process, learned from Sarah how to replace the inner o ring on a distributor. Another fun learning video.
Your attention to detail is amazing and you never give up on fixing things . You should have been a doctor but fixing cars is cooler. Glad you got the article in the paper about your channel. Do videos of you driving to CA or NJ. That would be cool.
Don't change a thing Sarah. You are who you are and we love you for it OCD, unintended innuendo and all! Great work on Mr Dos. The VLOG will be a nice change of pace for you if you can manage it.
I feel you on the oil leaking thru the distributor. I resealed, rebuilt,& replaced the one on my VW MK2s 16V engine twice and it still leaks. The car doesn't get driven much nowadays so I just occasionally clean it out and try not to let it bother me. Stupid sideways mounted distributors
Bravo, a lot of hard work was put into these last few videos. You're kicking ass and making me jealous of how large and wide your garage is. I've spent the last 2 months working on my 2004 forester in a single car garage and I have to walk my S1000RR out of the garage just to be able to get around in there. Thanks for the motivational videos and hard work!
Girl, your videos and skills are like way better then most guys. Plus i enjoy seeing another female mechanic who knows her stuff. Girl Power all the way.
As someone who has done this out in the driveway...I feel your pain lol. Mine was worse couldn't get the fuel line fitting loose so ended up taking it loose at the filter and pulling it through when I dropped the tank. My pump was so corroded lol. A little bit of redesign and they could have made access from the top with the center console off. That's the part that chaps me the worst.
Hey Sarah just as a suggestion, one way to avoid coolant diarrhea is to use this new waterless stuff I seen at the race track called Evans High Performance waterless coolant. No mixing no guessing no more rusting from any part of the engine or cooling coils etc. 😁😚😚 your welcome
One thing your MR2 videos have done for me. Whenever someone around me praises Japanese car reliability and design, I think of you and this never-ending project. I've basically rebuilt a Porsche 944t with not even half the agony you're putting yourself through. Still, great series and of course you're doing better work than I am.
That is funny because essentially the 951 repair workflow begins with “remove the airbox and turbocharger”. The classic 944t repair is the oil cooler and bottom balance shaft housing.
Sarah I've been watching your videos for ages and I want to thank you for always putting a smile on my face. I really appreciate your knowledge, attention to detail and excellent humour?!! Plus your gorgeous. Keep making great videos. Thanks.
that broken magnet might cause you issues with weak spark, and may damage your distributor if it comes apart at high speed... you may want to replace it... love love love your channel, you have the best humor on youtube
Another great video Sarah! I have seen a clogged PCV exacerbate the distributor o-ring problem because of the high crankcase pressure. I can't remember if you replaced that when resealed the engine. I think it is awesome you rebuilt your distributor! My friends think I'm crazy when I rebuild my starters and alternators... I thought that was nice of Charlie to braze that coolant hose too. Oh and you are right, lube in the hole is important before reinserting the seal and the shaft. I believe your SW20 is the cleanest one outside the Toyota collection as well.
I have the same steamer and let me just say pretty much everything on my car and in my house has been steam cleaned. A little degreaser just before you steam helps with the process too.
You can make a sonic parts washer. A buffet food warmer tray, a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water and anything that can induce vibration. This will help if you don't have one already.
Hi Sarah, if you want something that works great for cleaning get the tornador. It's a little pressure washer type gun, you can use it anywhere from interior to wheels to motor. Check it out.
You're fun to watch disassemble/ assemble your projects. You'd be fun with all your "on fire" remarks and thoughts to work on projects with. Keep up the great work. Side note: how do you wrench and shove your hand/ arm in tight places (insert pause)... without damaging your watch? You're a wizard! LoL
Love your approach diagnosis and rebuilding parts. Used to do same because I was extremely cheap aka broke. The sad part now, even though I can afford new parts, the cheap broke mentality has stuck around and I give myself the same headaches and adventures you face. Here's a beer toast to all the mechanics that are eyeballing and hope for the best. Keep rambling to yourself while hungry.
Nice work, Sarah. Over the course of my career, I've rebuilt hundreds of distributors and must say that you did a very nice job on that one. I also noticed that Toyota chose to use a bearing in their distributor, as opposed to bronze bushings. Way better quality. It should work perfectly, for as long as you own the car. As always, keep up the great work.
Hiya, just like to say I think you've got a great sense of humour enjoying your work. If you want to clean up aluminium try paint stripper, I used it to clean /determinate aluminium intake manifold to weld it sort it out like brand new
The grooves in the shaft is probably why they don't sell an official rebuild kit, that will likely still leak in a short amount of time. You might be able to press the shaft in extra (or less) and make sure it still fully engages the drive (does yotas drive the oil pump with the distributor?) that way the o-ring doesn't line up with the existing groove. Assuming you have adjustments on the cap side so you can compensate for it. Though too late but you could possibly polish the groove out on a lathe and then find a o-ring that was slightly oversize.
I like rebuilding stuff instead of replacing it, so far i have fully rebuilt 4 brake calipers and an alternator, the brakes were the most satisfying because i painted them too :)
You are awesome Sarah! I thought I was OCD with my Senor Dos:) I love how clean everything is ,I learned quite a bit from you ,keep up the amazing work!
I literally just watched someone else struggle with these coolant lines. Something slightly evil about these MR2’s. Nicely done, and way to take this project on.
Great video Sarah!... Your level of automotive knowledge never stops to amaze me and your attention to detail is on point. I'd love to see another vlog video, keep up the great work 😀👍!
You might already know this ,but, if you put your bearings in the freezer for a hour they slide in much easier, or warm them when you need to get them on a shaft . The car has come along way looking great it must be the cleanest mr2 ever.
Definitely in for the Evo Madi and Sarah collaboration that would be so much fun. And if Black Widow Supra could make a cameo, even better. Also loved the video.
Well at least Mr Dos tank was clean unlike Martys. Nice job with the disy, assuming the drive dogs offset, you can orientate that in relation to where the rotor arm points, handy if you loose you're paint marks.
The Barnhart Concise Dictionary of Etymology says it's a contraction of “will I, nill I” or “will he, nill he” or “will ye, nill ye.” The word “nill” is from the Old English “nyllan,” a combination of “ne” (no) and “willan” (will). The phrase “willy-nilly” means “unwillingly” or “haphazardly. There; now you know, courtesy of Google.
Your OCD makes mine look like I have O nothing. But we all know clean cars run better 'cause they appreciate us. Usually. Keep these videos coming. And you deserve the awesome Gearwrench toolbox BTW.
I bet your neck is so sore from being under that car! Huge props cause I'm also a detail oriented person and like everything to be clean and tidy! Feel your pain!
Wow there’s a lot in those distributors! Stick to you guns Sarah! “My jokes are fire!” , or “my silly jokes are fire!” Great video. I always wondered what was in those things.
Hey Sarah Have you seen the yellow tube, it's called "seal all" I believe. Well I had a motorcycle and it had a ton of holes (hahahaha) it fixed it perfectly, dries hard (lolololol)
That’s crazy. The videos been up for less that 18 minutes and almost 2000 views. Everyone is just like me and waiting for the next amazing video. I did enjoy this one. These are the types of projects I really enjoy. And, Willy nilly early 17th century. Basically will I won’t I. Kind if means indecision.
I laughed out loud so many times watching this! Yess please come to Cali and lets make some fire content together!
Yes please!!
Would love to see Sarah and Madi do some collaboration, that would be awesome! 2 of my favorite TH-camrs
Their jokes will be fire! Don't forget that! :)
Take her to willow springs and hit up some of the tracks
Yes, do things together
I like Sarah's jokes. And not because she's a hottie, but because she's a sweetheart and very likeable. The best part of any joke is the delivery, your delivery is perfect.
If you put the distributor housing in the oven and the bearing in the freezer the bearing will almost drop in without a press. Works great on the bearings inside a dirtbike crankcase. Love your channel Sarah! Especially youe humor!
Has to edit...lol. Dry ice works best...much colder....
The hardest working mechanic on TH-cam.
The beautifulest...
the only one that seems able to finish a fucking job as well... looking at you, Tavarish
Imagine a collaboration between Sarah and Doris of Woman Driven....internet crash in 3-2-1 🔥🔥🔥
@Eric Babcock Thanks Eric!

You have a lot of talent and are not afraid to tackle anything!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your attention to detail is amazing and you never give up on fixing things . You should have been a doctor but fixing cars is cooler. Glad you got the article in the paper about your channel. Do videos of you driving to CA or NJ. That would be cool.
I have this distributor issue with my 94 Suzuki gti....will be keeping this episode as ref material for the repair ...thanks Sarah..cheers Australia:)
Don't change a thing Sarah. You are who you are and we love you for it OCD, unintended innuendo and all! Great work on Mr Dos. The VLOG will be a nice change of pace for you if you can manage it.
Good detail. I would consider this could be a full restoration on the MR-2.
Keep up the good work.

Great as always, Sarah. Really loved the music during the time lapse sequences. Wish some of these tunes were available commercially.

If I remember right the thing that started all of this was she wanted to replace the fuel pump. Don't ever change Sarah! You are awesome!
Arizona cars definitely don't see winter road salt - oh yeah - rarely see snow too ❄️. Awesome series Sarah 👍 Love your sense of humour 🇨🇦
Another great video Sarah!

Wow anybody thinking of that year m r 2 might think twice about buying unless you have major money to Spend to repair ! Great work ethic and o c d !
You're fun to watch disassemble/ assemble your projects. You'd be fun with all your "on fire" remarks and thoughts to work on projects with.

Mothers mag and Aluminum polish would have been the thing to try for cleaning up the distributer shaft. Works well for cleaning up minor wear.
Most underrated channel 🔥
Nice work, Sarah. Over the course of my career, I've rebuilt hundreds of distributors and must say that you did a very nice job on that one. I'm so glad I subscribed to this channel.
I’m glad you did too
Yeah, I can only imagine how much fun it will be to reinstall the fuel tank! Love your attention to detail.
BTW, a simple business card is a quick and easy way to set clearance on those pick up coils / reluctors....
Another quality video - thank you for going into detail on the various steps and parts of the distributor.
Hiya, just like to say I think you've got a great sense of humour enjoying your work.
If you want to clean up aluminium try paint stripper, I used it to clean /determinate aluminium intake manifold to weld it sort it out like brand new
I have never seen the inside of a fuel tank ... and i would never have guessed it looked like that ! For some reason i imagined the exact opposite
Glad I found this channel. 100% great content. And more importantly thank you for your service.
I like rebuilding stuff instead of replacing it, so far i have fully rebuilt 4 brake calipers and an alternator, the brakes were the most satisfying because i painted them too :)
I like the vlog idea. Your attention to detail is off the charts!
You are awesome Sarah! I thought I was OCD with my Senor Dos:) I love how clean everything is ,I learned quite a bit from you ,keep up the amazing work!
About your jokes ! It's the way you deliver them, that is cute, dont change, we love you like this...
DAMN! I harped and harped about that heater core NEVER thinking about the transfer lines! Good catch!!!
Yes, VLOG! I always like your vlogs with MickBeth.
WOW... by the time you are done with Mr Dos it will be a whole NEW CAR.
Can’t believe how hard you work, it’s a credit to you! 👍
I have to! This car won’t build itself and no ones going to do it for me!
Hiya Sarah.
Traditional Steam-Clean also uses high-pressure hot water with the steam. Aboot 47 times better than our home versions...
Amazing! Very insightful and entertaining. Hopefully the fuel tank is not harder to put back in.
I literally just watched someone else struggle with these coolant lines. Something slightly evil about these MR2’s. Nicely done, and way to take this project on.
Your humor and mannerisms are just like Aubrey Plaza I love it! Quirky, humorous and fun. 👍😎
your attention to detail is inspiring
2:55 Your jokes are not abysmal. Your jokes are FIRE! Never forget that. 🔥🔥
Great video Sarah!... Your level of automotive knowledge never stops to amaze me and your attention to detail is on point. I'd love to see another vlog video, keep up the great work 😀👍!
Is there anything you can't do? So skilled and so smart. Other adjectives apply, but now is not the time to mention them.
Impressive rebuild of that distributor. I tied to rebuild an alternator once...all I did was wreck it.
You might already know this ,but, if you put your bearings in the freezer for a hour they slide in much easier, or warm them when you need to get them on a shaft . The car has come along way looking great it must be the cleanest mr2 ever.
you and Liz are 2 of my favorite favorite people on you tube.
I miss her 😭
Love it how secure and precise you work and how you keep things clean ! Great video again 👍😀👏🏻
The way Sarah pronounces "solder"... 🙃 Meticulous disassembly, cleaning and reassembly makes me really happy.
Been watching this channel for a few years and love the work you are doing on all the cars but I especially like the Mister Dos project.
If this gives you further trouble you could abandon the dizzy and fit a standalone ecu and direct ignition!
"Shaft leak" is a real problem that should be addressed promptly and vigorously.......LOL. Great video Sarah!
I love your jokes! And you have no fear about taking things apart and rebuilding. Amazing skills!👍
You can actually use just a vom set on ohms the Exciter will show a difference and conductivity as the High Point passes you know EMF
thank you for your service Sarah
keep up the jokes I laugh out loud all the time.
Definitely in for the Evo Madi and Sarah collaboration that would be so much fun.
And if Black Widow Supra could make a cameo, even better. Also loved the video.
I've seen those coolant pipes replaced with household copper water pipes with no issues according to mcm
Great job, fun to watch. Awesome that Charlie is back for the next one.
Well at least Mr Dos tank was clean unlike Martys. Nice job with the disy, assuming the drive dogs offset, you can orientate that in relation to where the rotor arm points, handy if you loose you're paint marks.
Love your channel, always fun!

I LOVE your sense of humor!!! Great stuff!!!!
I bet your neck is so sore from being under that car! Huge props cause I'm also a detail oriented person and like everything to be clean and tidy! Feel your pain!
This thing will be concourse ready by the time you're done with it. Great vids keep 'em coming.
Wow there’s a lot in those distributors! Stick to you guns Sarah! “My jokes are fire!” , or “my silly jokes are fire!” Great video. I always wondered what was in those things.
That’s the same philosophy I use with my m3, saved lots of moneys and learned a lot.
I love the cleanup of the underside and parts. This is becoming a concourse show car very quickly.
Nah, the paint on this car is not show worthy by any means.
Always a pleasure watching your videos. And I can’t get enough of humor. Thanks for putting a smile on my face 😉
Hey Sarah
Have you seen the yellow tube, it's called "seal all" I believe. Well I had a motorcycle and it had a ton of holes (hahahaha) it fixed it perfectly, dries hard (lolololol)
Great job. Hopefully the wear on the shaft and magnet didn’t cause you any more problems, but you are a good mechanic and tech.
Each and every thing is detailed as detailed are your nails, support from India, I'm also an automobile influencer 😌
That's insane that a stock mkiv pump flows like that. Learn something new everyday
I was thinking the same thing.
That’s crazy. The videos been up for less that 18 minutes and almost 2000 views. Everyone is just like me and waiting for the next amazing video. I did enjoy this one. That press has paid for itself 10 fold already. 👍🏻
The jokes are truly on fire in this vid! 👏🏻😂
It absolutely has, I would fully utilize a real shop if I had my own.
@@SarahnTuned All in due time.. don't worry.. you'll get there.

It's 02:35 in the UK and I'm watching Sarah. Result!
You can work for A1 Cardone now rebuilding car parts. I used to work for them. They rebuild just about everything.
Your jokes are not “abysmal”.... your jokes are fire! 👍🏻
Hey if you ever travel to Jersey u should do a meet and greet. That would be awesome!!! Love the videos!!!
